There has been more than one instance of rash, arrogant public statements announcing ‘undocumented’ status made by illegals since President Trump took office. And there has been more than one occasion when those individuals paid a price for their lawlessness, helped along by their loud-mouth squawking. This story definitely checks that first box, and time will tell if it checks the second box as well. Wisdom would argue that imprudence isn’t wise; in fact, it’s exactly the opposite. And there’s actually a great Bible verse that sums up the foolish behavior of the subject of this story. In other words, the more unwise you are, the more you should probably shut your mouth and keep from removing all doubt. And that is exactly the opposite of what Greisa Martinez Rosas chose to do this past weekend during an anti-Trump rally held in Washington DC. Rosas walked right up to the mic, proclaimed her ignorance, and basically dared the Trump Administration to do what it has sworn, promised, and campaigned to do. She didn’t ‘keep silent’ or ‘close her lips’, and she didn’t leave any doubt as to her lack of intelligence or wisdom in the process; so far the entire thing worked out just as the Bible predicted. That’s a potentially dangerous job considered she just announced to the world she’s an illegal and proud of it. Now the question hanging in the air is whether or not the Trump Administration will really let that public bravado slide, or whether her words will be taken as a dare for ICE to come after her. One X user pointed out that the only information she didn’t give ICE was her home address, as reported by Fox News: An illegal immigrant attending an anti-Trump “Hands Off!” rally on Saturday said she was “unafraid” to flash her immigration status and sexual orientation publicly. Rosas is originally from Hidalgo, Mexico, but came to the U.S. as a child, the report notes, where she eventually grew up in the Dallas area. She has since gone on to serve as the executive director of United We Dream, a network of more than 400,000 young immigrants. Her comments were made in front of tens of thousands of protesters who attended the rally in the nation’s capital, one of more than 1,000 protests held around the country on Saturday. The report notes that Rosas’ comments quickly went viral on social media, where not all users were enthusiastic about her message. “The only thing she didn’t tell ICE is her home address,” one X user said. “I’m confident they can look that up.” “I guess we will see her arrested later this week, thanks for coming forward to let ICE know where you are,” added another. The social media outrage over Rosas’ public flaunting of her illegal status was swift and sharp. Rally goers were fired up about everything from deportation, tariffs, and even DOGE — according to the New York Post: Greisa Martinez Rosas — who’s been a national immigration activist for years and heads pro-immigration group United We Dream — proclaimed her status at a rally in Washington DC that targeted President Trump’s policies including mass deportation, widespread tariffs and spending cuts carried out by Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency. The video sparked backlash from many users who advocated for her arrest and deportation as a result of her declaration. “Deport her. Now,” one user said. “Lock her up,” another wrote. Several people sought to notify Trump’s border czar Tom Homan, while others suggested that Rosas’ public display would make her a target by Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Rosas statements were made at the rally attended by tens of thousands in the nation’s capital and which was just one of over 1,000 protests held at locations around the country on Saturday — including at Columbia University and Bryant Park in New York and locals in Los Angeles and Philadelphia. Or, the White House Communications Director could simply be hitting all the buttons, making sure their messaging isn’t misunderstood. Then again, it might take a little more wisdom to get the message than someone foolish enough to go on national television and announce their illegal status would be able to muster. I bet she gets the message when those ICE Agents show up, led by Tom Homan. Considering the United States is STILL A FREE COUNTRY, it’s perfectly acceptable to be unafraid and unashamed — if you’re a law abiding LEGAL citizen. Otherwise, the Trump Administration has promised to ensure you can continue proclaiming your unafraid and unashamed status to your heart’s content… back in your home country.
