Yesterday, the Turnpike Troubadours officially announced their new album The Price of Admission, after having social media stirred up over the weekend when a fan shared a photo of a billboard in Stillwater, Oklahoma with an advertisement for a new Turnpike album. It will be out very soon, on this Friday, April 11th: UHH NEW TURNPIKE ALBUM APRIL 11th? pic.twitter.com/itEsDGUvPC — Jordan Powell (@Smuphy) April 5, 2025 The band previously promised that they would have new music out this year, and this release lines up with the massive shows Turnpike is slated to open for Cross Canadian Ragweed, as the band reunites for a sold-out, four-night run at Stillwater’s Boone Pickens Stadium, which kicks off this Thursday, April 10th… big week for the state of Oklahoma, eh? Of course, Turnpike got back together a couple years ago after a years-long hiatus and put out A Cat in the Rain in the summer of 2023, which was produced by the great Shooter Jennings, and I know fans will be more than thrilled to hear there’s another Turnpike album coming out this week. Personally, I appreciate the very simple, yet effective, marketing strategy of little-to-no lead-up time, because most album promotion cycles go on forever, and unless it’s a massive band or artist, no one really cares… so this is the way to do it in my opinion. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Turnpike Troubadours (@turnpiketroubadours) The record was once again produced by Shooter, and in addition to this project and Ragweed shows, Turnpike will continue to tour through the summer, with back-to-back headline shows at Red Rocks Amphitheatre and several dates with Zach Bryan across the U.K., including a stop at London’s BST Hyde Park. They will also join Willie Nelson’s 10th Anniversary Outlaw Music Festival Tour this summer. They have a pretty busy tour schedule, and even better, now there will be new songs to hear at the concerts and much to look forward to if you’re heading to any of the live shows they’re either opening or headlining.
