Kenny Chesney Previews Upcoming Residency At The Las Vegas Sphere: “It’s Blowing My Mind”
Giving fans a preview of what’s in store.
Kenny Chesney is getting very close to hitting the stage at The Sphere in Las Vegas. At the start of the year, he announced that he was headed to The Sphere for a summer residency. Chesney is the first country artist to take the stage at this one-of-a-kind venue, and when he announced the shows, he said that creating all the visuals would be a lot of work, but he knew he had to accept the opportunity to play on this stage.
“I’m always looking for ways to deepen the way No Shoes Nation experiences this music. Over the years, they have shown me through their own response to these songs how passionate they are about what they mean, how these songs are part of their lives.
When people give you that much heart, I want to give them even more. When we started talking about all of the possibilities playing Sphere offered, I was all in.”

Shortly after announcing the shows, Chesney appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. He spoke to the late-night host about all of the work needed to get these shows off the ground, noting that he and his team were reshooting all of the visuals due to the extremely high-quality footage needed for The Sphere’s displays.
“I mean, everything is shot, you know, getting technical is shot in 36k. So we have all this footage that we’ve used over the years, in our stadium shows or whatever, and can’t use a frame of it. We got to reshoot everything, which is good because it just makes it really new and fresh.
That’s one of the reasons I agreed to do it. We are already in rehearsals. We are going to be rehearsing; it’s a lot to put together. Once we are there, it will be a lot of fun, but getting there is a lot of work. But that’s great.”
Now, with the show being roughly a month away, with the first show kicking off right before Memorial Day weekend, Chesney is giving fans a physical preview of what is in store for the show. Chesney shared a clip of the graphics they have curated while visiting Burbank, California’s Sphere Studios.
Much of the pre-show production occurs at Sphere Studios. It features a 28,000-square-foot, 100-foot-high custom geodesic dome, a scaled-down version of the screen in Las Vegas, so it’s a perfect place to run through everything and make tweaks as needed.
As Chesney watches the graphics, he is visibly mind-blown, seeing the visuals roll before his eyes. Some of the imagery highlighted in this teaser comes from his stadium tours, giving a nod to No Shoes Nation with tropical island vibes and trippy skulls you might see at a Grateful Dead concert.
It looks like he’s featuring a wide variety of graphics, which will tailor to all kinds of Sphere-goers.
“Next month we begin our shows at Sphere in Las Vegas. It’s going to be such a shared moment for all of us. I’m glad we are doing it. Just To Say We Did.”
From this preview, it looks like Chesney and his team stepped up to the plate, putting in a lot of hard work to make this show come to life and do as he wanted: give his fans even more.
I can’t wait to see how electric this looks in The Sphere.
