When “Reba” Star Lost Her Parents Her Onscreen Parents Stepped Up In A Big Way
It’s sometimes difficult to separate real from fantasy when it comes to our favorite TV shows and characters. We often become so engrained with plot lines that characters begin to feel real. The relationships they have with one another onscreen also appear genuine. In some cases, it’s because they are.
Reba aired from 2001 to 2007, making us fall in love with the Hart family. Reba McEntire and Christopher Rich played divorcees Reba and Brock Hart, and JoAnna Garcia Swisher played their eldest daughter, Cheyanne. The Harts were one of those families who seemed so genuine, we believed they were a real family. JoAnna recently shared on an episode of Kate and Oliver Hudson’s podcast, Sibling Revelry, our observations were spot on.

JoAnna Garcia Swisher Said Her “Reba” Co-Stars Mean A Lot To Her
JoAnna Garcia Swisher shared her love for Reba McEntire and Christopher Rich and their important role in her life.
“She’s the best. She is such an incredible human, just, like, just in general,” JoAnna gushed.
She added that Reba’s humbleness is admirable, “She is such a huge star, and she just still amazes me with her, you know, like, ‘I can’t believe this is happening to me’ vibe.”
JoAnna Garcia Swisher lost her parents within two years of each other, leaving a significant void, but her Reba family stepped right in.
When her dad died, Christoper officiated her wedding, and Reba and Melissa Peterman, who played Barbara Jean Hart, served as bridesmaids. JoAnna said the Reba cast treats her children like family. They share their lives because they are a real family.
“When something amazing happens for my kids,” JoAnna added. “I send pictures. These are people that genuinely are so excited to, like, see that and be a part of our lives and a part of our world.”
