If you made a list of all the top favorite IPs, it would seem that Hollywood has that list in hand. And they’ve consistently gone down that list and made each entry woke. You name it, Star Wars, countless Disney & Pixar characters, Lord of the Rings, Star Trek, Marvel comic characters, Dr. Who, even Narnia. And now the woke mob have arrived to push their cultural Marxism on Harry Potter. HBO swore that they would remake the books more accurately than the movies. And it sort of makes sense to take each book and turn it into one season of TV shows. That way they don’t have to cram a huge novel into a 2.5 hour movie. That means you get to potentially see every scene of the books filmed. Then HBO announced their casting for the series and it just shows what a lot of us were fearing. That they have no intent on being faithful to the book, but rather just another entry to push their agenda, as many are calling it, ‘The Message’. (Which just means any agenda under the woke umbrella.) The character Professor Snape, which was played by Alan Rickman in the movies, was described as ‘pasty’ and ‘white’ in the books. Some of you may know Alan Rickman as Sheriff of Nottingham in Robin Hood with Kevin Costner. Well, now Snape is race-swapped by Paapa Essiedu. And Potter fans, liberal and conservatives both, are furious. Many consider Rickman to be their favorite person in the whole series. Someone thought they could sneak this DEI hire in. But blackwashing? ‘Eh, that doesn’t exist.’ Newsweek reports: The announcement that Paapa Essiedu will portray Severus Snape in HBO’s forthcoming Harry Potter series has ignited conversation across social media, with fans drawing comparisons to other casting decisions that challenged traditional character portrayals. Essiedu, known for roles in I May Destroy You and The Lazarus Project, joins a high-profile cast including John Lithgow as Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, and Nick Frost as Hagrid. The new adaptation, which HBO has described as a “faithful” retelling of J.K. Rowling’s original books, is expected to span a decade-long run but according to Deadline, Max, formerly HBO Max, has not disclosed the duration or structure of each season in relation to the individual books.
