Fans Pay Tribute After Death Of Beloved “M*A*S*H*” Star
It’s a sad day at the 4077th Mobile Army Surgical Hospital. M*A*S*H* star Patrick Adiarte died at age 82 on April 15 from pneumonia. Patrick had a career on both the stage and screen. He played a member of the royal children’s chorus on Broadway in The King and I and then played Prince Chulalongkorn in the film adaptation alongside Yul Brynner. But he is likely best known for his portrayal of Korean orphan Ho-Joj in the first season of M*A*S*H*. He lovingly assessed characters Hawkeye Pierce and Trapper John McIntyre at the army hospital. His former M*A*S*H* co-star Loretta Swit, who played Major Margaret “Hot Lips” Houlihan, paid tribute to Patrick in an Instagram story writing, “RIP Patrick Adiarrte.”

“M*A*S*H*” Fans Shared Sweet Memories of Patrick Adiarte
The Instagram account @mashmatters posted, “We’re sad to report the passing of actor Patrick Adiarte, who played Ho-Jon in seven episodes of M*A*S*H‘s first season, including the series pilot. He was 81.”
A fan shared a sweet story about Patrick Adiarte on the post, “I’m a former journalist and in 2014, I was ecstatic to interview a Korean War veteran who also happened to have been a war correspondent. He told me some amazing stories and two of the questions that I asked him were a.) How accurate was M*A*S*H and, b.) Were there really “house boys” like Ho-John. His answers? The first couple of seasons in particular were very accurate and, in fact, his unit had their version of Ho-John. The craziest part is that they called him Henry.”
Another fan said they recently began watching M*A*S*H* and paid particular attention to Patrick Adiarte. They wrote, “I just started on season 1 again for the 40th time in my life and in that early season 1 he was in a lot of those episodes.”
