Bailey Zimmerman Teases Collaboration With Luke Combs & I Don’t Know How I Feel About It

This news was 100% not on my bingo card for 2025. Bailey Zimmerman is teasing a significant collaboration for his career, taking to social media this morning to post a selfie of him next to Luke Combs. Zimmerman gives the camera an excited thumbs up, while Combs points at Zimmerman, looking starstruck. In the caption of the post, Zimmerman makes it sound like the two are cooking up a new tune, but the information about what’s in store is very vague. “Well Y’all… BZ x Luke Combs.” View this post on Instagram A post shared by Bailey Zimmerman (@bailey.zimmerman) I’ll be the first to admit that I’m much more of a Luke Combs fan than a Bailey Zimmerman fan, so I was surprised to see this on my news feed this morning. After taking in the information for a second, I headed to the comments section to see what other country fans thought about this teaser, and everyone in the comments seemed pumped. “Now that’s a Monday folks…BZ and Luke Combs?!?! Helllll right.” “AHHHHH THIS IS SO AWESOME. That’s a #1 hit coming…” “Collecting collabs like infinity stones.” “Holy smokes this is going to be amazing. Can’t wait Bailey!!” “Stopppppp!!!! LFG!! Legit collab of dreams.” “This collab is about to top the charts.” “This is everything I’ve dreamed of and more.” After reading through the comments, I was honestly surprised to see that it felt like I was the only one who wasn’t exactly thrilled to see Combs teaming up with Zimmerman. But then again, it was mostly Bailey Zimmerman’s fans who responded, given that it was not a collaborative post, so none of Combs’ fans chimed in. Elsewhere on social media, the comments were far less excited. I’ll hand it to Zimmerman; he’s gotten some good collaborations lately, most recently striking a hit with his single featuring BigXthaPlug. He’s also making moves with his shows, having recently performed on the massive Houston Rodeo stage. However, maybe it’s because I feel that Zimmerman’s fans are young and tend to be more into radio and pop country, that this collaboration is off-putting to me for some reason. Luke Combs is headlining stadiums, putting on massive shows to support his home state during a time of need, and is a prolific songwriter with twenty number-one hits to his name. The thought of him teaming up with an Energizer bunny-type performer, who is still young enough in his career that he has to make public apologies for performing intoxicated, does not sit right with me. Also, given that Combs writes songs with profound lyrical content, I can’t see their maturity levels matching for a song that would showcase both of their talents in a jaw-dropping way. Sure, I can see them coming up with a catchy ditty, but I don’t think it will be anything compared to the caliber of songs Combs has put out lately, or what he’s been teasing from the record he’s currently working on. Maybe Zimmerman will be showcased in a new light through this collaboration, and I will be turned into a fan. But from my first thoughts, I am just surprised that Combs agreed to a collaboration with him…I was hoping his next collaboration announcement would be with Cody Johnson after their electric duet of “Beer Never Broke My Heart.” Since we know BZ fans are excited about this collaboration, Luke Combs fans, sound off and share your thoughts.
