Koe Wetzel Fans Are Stoked To See He’s Back In The Studio: “We Are So F***ing Back”

Cooking up some new music. If you’ve been paying attention to any of Koe Wetzel‘s shows recently or watched some of the interviews he’s done, then it’s no surprise to see Koe acknowledging that he’s in the studio. However, for those of you who might not have been privy to this information, surprise! Yes, folks, Koe Wetzel is working on a new album, and he’s sharing the news by posting behind-the-scenes images on his social media pages. Today, Wetzel took to his social media to share a collection of black and white images from the studio, noting: “We are so f**king back.” View this post on Instagram A post shared by Koe Wetzel (@koe_wetzel) At the beginning of the year, Wetzel headed to Nashville for an Audacy Totally Private concert. Before he took the stage for his acoustic set that night, he sat down with Katie Neal for a mini-episode of Katie & Company, disclosing that he had been in Nashville working on a new record. Neal asked Wetzel what the next chapter looks like. Koe noted that he’s going to build off the sound established on his last studio record, 9 Lives. “Just kind of growing off of ‘9 Lives.’ You know, I think the music that I’ve made for so long has just kind of instilled into me and just kind of soldered into me and with this new music out, with the new record, I just kind of wanted to get a little bit more of that rock ‘n’ roll side. Back to that Texas rock ‘n’ roll. Working with Gabe Simon again, so it’s fun. You know, every time we go into the studio, it’s different. Every day is different. It’s just kind of go in there blind, having a little bit of an idea of what you’re going to write, but not having a whole outlook on it. And kind of stepping back after the day of work and go like, ‘Holy sh*t that’s, you know, that’s pretty cool actually.’ And that’s bringing a lot more joy back to songwriting and being in the studio because we’re going straight from writing to recording right then. I feel like that’s how it should be, and we are having a lot of fun with it. So… I don’t know, we’ll see how it all comes out.” At the time of the podcast episode, Wetzel noted that they hadn’t yet discussed potential collaborations for this record. “We’re just kind of focused on getting the song on where we want them to be, and then I think we’ll maybe look later on here.” Given the success of his collaboration with Jessie Murph, “High Road,” which landed him his first number one hit at country radio, I wouldn’t be surprised if Wetzel really considers another collaboration or two on this forthcoming record. It appears as though Wetzel feels like a convict in his own home, heartbroken about an ending relationship, yet he can’t outrun his ex-lover’s memory, especially when he’s intoxicated. Wetzel performed the song acoustically during the Totally Private show for the few fans in the listening room, but he recently took it to the big stage as well, amping up the song’s meaning by adding his full band to the composition. I was really digging the song acoustically, and the full band version of the song goes even harder. It’s gritty yet still vulnerable and perfectly showcases Wetzel building off of 9 Lives‘ sound. @skylarjesika01 @Koe Wetzel unreleased song “Surrounded”. He played it last night for the first time WITH his band at Choctaw and I absolutely cannot wait for him to release it!! #koewetzel #choctaw #foryoupage ♬ original sound – Skylar After Wetzel shared the behind-the-scenes photo of himself and the boys in the studio, fans began to freak out, hoping it means new music is on the horizon. Given that Wetzel and his girlfriend, Bailey Fisher, are expecting a baby girl soon, I bet he is in the studio as much as possible before he gets the title of rockstar and dad. Check out some of the excitement before you go. “Cannot wait .” “We are here for it!” “Locked in.” “This is what I needed to see today.” “AYEEEEE.” “Koe the GOAT.” “God bless.” “Let’s goooooo.” “I’m so f**king ready.” “Oh man! Here we go again!” “Thank god, I’m running on empty.” “MORE BANGERS.” “Damn right.”The post Koe Wetzel Fans Are Stoked To See He’s Back In The Studio: “We Are So F***ing Back” first appeared on Whiskey Riff.
