Service Dog Has Unusual Reaction When Painter Comes To The House During Remodel
Words can’t describe how incredible it is that service dogs exist. The impact they have on the lives of their owners is absolutely priceless. Plus, there are so many kinds of alert dogs — there are ones for people diabetes, epilepsy, and PTSD, to name a few. And it’s not easy to become one, either. It can take years of training for them to be truly ready to take on their job.
But once they are, it’s amazing what they are able to accomplish. In fact, sometimes, their life-saving skills can even come in handy for total strangers. This is something one mom learned the day that painters came over to work in their home. Her daughter’s service dog, Kona, simply insisted on getting closer to one of the workers. See what happened next in the video below.

It’s so sweet to see how anxious little Kona was before he was allowed to get closer to the man. He clearly knew that something was wrong, and he wanted to help him oh-so much. Thankfully, the man was more than happy to allow the dog near him. And when Kona did get close, he confirmed something the man actually did already know: His blood sugar had been a little high all day.

Now, this video is inspiring folks to share their own similar experiences. In turn, we’re being reminded that dogs are such special, loving animals to us humans. Their ability to sense that something is wrong, and to actually communicate that with us, feels miraculous.

“My dog is NOT a service dog, but he knows EVERY time my son is about to have a seizure,” one person shares, another adding, “I have a friend with a service dog that alerts to strangers when out walking. She calls it doing ‘community service.'”
“I have pots and a random cardiac service dog started alerting me for high heart rate and would not leave me until I sat down,” a third person shares, “and their owner was embarrassed, but it’s great training and helps.”
