Former Postal Worker Admits Guilt To Ballot Theft Scheme In 2024 Election
A former postal worker has pleaded guilty to stealing and fraudulently casting ballots in the 2024 presidential election.
“Vicki Stuart, 64, was charged with 34 counts related to the ballot theft scheme, which occurred in the lead-up to last year’s presidential election,” Colorado Public Radio reports.
In a plea agreement, Stuart pleaded guilty to one count of identity theft and one count of forgery.

Colorado Public Radio reports:
For much of the hearing, she answered Judge Brian Flynn’s questions with a simple “yes,” but when asked why she was willing to accept the plea agreement, she responded because “I feel like I am guilty for the part that I played in it.”
Stuart was charged in November with counts that included forgery, identity theft and attempts to influence a public servant. According to the arrest affidavit, Stuart and another woman stole more than a dozen ballots from Mesa County residents before they could be delivered to the intended voters. The goal, prosecutors said, was to test the state’s voting safeguards.
The scheme was uncovered when some voters alerted authorities after the Colorado Ballot tracking system informed them their ballots were being processed, even though they hadn’t received their ballots yet. State officials said three of the stolen ballots that were cast fraudulently did make it through the signature verification process and were counted as legitimate votes.

Per Daily Caller:
Authorities claim election officials counted three of the stolen ballots as legitimate votes. Stuart was an employee of the U.S. Postal Service when the scheme occurred and had direct access to mail-in ballots. The other alleged culprit, Sally Jane Maxedone, is set to be in court Thursday for a hearing. Stuart will be sentenced on June 25, 2025.
If the identity theft was prosecuted as a class 4 felony, Stuart could be facing between two to six years in prison and a fine of up to $500,000 for that count alone, according to the Colorado Legal Defense Group (CLDG). She also could be facing up to 3 years in prison and a $100,000 fine if the forgery was a class 5 felony, the CLDG’s website noted.
