Country Music Fans Share The Nicest Artists They’ve Ever Met In Person

How about some good news about some of your favorite country artists? One of the cool things about country music is how accessible most of the artists are. Unlike in other genres, there are usually plenty of opportunities to meet your favorite artist. Whether it’s at a meet and greet or just hanging out by their bus after a show, country artists are usually pretty good about meeting with their fans, chatting for a bit, thanking them for their support. It’s a big part of the reason that country music has such a loyal following: Most of the artists are just regular people. In this job I’ve been lucky enough to meet quite a few artists, and I can honestly say that 99% of my interactions have been positive. Everybody from Eric Church, Luke Combs, Jelly Roll, Justin Moore, Jon Pardi, Riley Green, Tracy Lawrence, Lorrie Morgan to relative newcomers like Dillon Carmichael, Zach Top, Charles Wesley Godwin, the Red Clay Strays…all couldn’t have been nicer. And honestly, it’s refreshing when you meet an artist and find out that they’re as nice in person as you hoped they would be. Of course everybody has a bad day, and it seems like those bad experiences are always the ones that get attention and go viral, but everybody hopes that their favorite artist is as nice as they seem on stage. Somebody recently took to Reddit with the question: Who’s the nicest country artist you’ve met in person? And the answers didn’t disappoint. “Ashley McBryde so sweet and funny. “Garth Brooks. PC for a concert. Did a one on one interview with him. Talked football. Growing up in Oklahoma everyone was a Cowboy fan. His favorite was a team every Cowboy fan hated. The Pittsburgh Steelers. Asked me mine. Vikings. Told him I had to be. Dad was a fan since 1961. Got done with the interview. Shakes my hand and tells me to say hi to your dad form me.” “I met Tyler Childers while he was making his way onstage at a show in Bend, Oregon several years ago. I asked him to sign my guitar and he obliged. I thanked him (and the fellas) for sharing their musical talents with the world and expressed my appreciation for his lyrics that have helped me get by countless times. He asked a few questions about my Epiphone acoustic and said “Thanks for letting me scribble on your guitar”. Hell of a good guy, down to Earth and an amazing artist.” “Ate Ice cream from same container with Kip Moore after his concert. I sold his merch and he was signing merch when they bought it. We shared red velvet ice cream.” “June Carter Cash made the cart driver stop, told Johnny to get out and help me get my bags because I had an infant carrier, two suitcases and a toddler in the airport.” “I went to high school with Tracy Byrd. Still the nicest person you would ever meet.” “Luke Bryan is actually funny as f*** and a relatively normal person.” “Justin Moore comes into my bar every summer when he’s playing in town and always remembers my name.” “When I met Zach Bryan many years ago he was super kind. He was really just thankful I took the time to come to his show.” “I’ve met Carrie Underwood several times and she’s always been an absolute delight. She’s gotta be my favorite. She seems to get a bad rap online sometimes, but I’ve never experienced anything less than wonderful from her. She’s gorgeous, sweet, and so funny!! A lot of meet and greets are sort of just a, hey thanks for coming let’s take a pic thanks so much. Not her! Lots of chatting, even wrote a tattoo for me.” “I met Jon Pardi when I was about 36 weeks pregnant. He offered me a bottle of water and let me use their fancy backstage restroom trailer (outdoor venue)” “About two years ago when Willie Nelson was doing a concert out in Ontario California, we got there super early, and he came out to say hi to everyone because we were there so early. I got to shake his hand and introduce myself, and I really wanted to give him a hug because I love Willie Nelson, but he’s like 900 years old and I didn’t want to break anything! he’s freaking awesome!” “Met Charlie Daniels while working security. It was summer, I was supposed to keep people from walking onto his bus. He insisted I do it from inside the bus. The A/C was glorious and he was so down to earth.” You love to see it. Of course there were plenty more mentioned, so you can check out the thread over on the r/CountryMusicStuff subreddit if you’re interested. But it’s always nice to hear good things about your favorite artists. The post Country Music Fans Share The Nicest Artists They’ve Ever Met In Person first appeared on Whiskey Riff.
