Reflecting on her relationship with her mother, Wynonna shared how the late singer placed immense pressure on her, particularly concerning her weight. She noted that her mom, afraid that music executives might drop her due to her weight gain, always suggested that shedding some pounds could pave the way for a thriving pop career.
The 60-year-old explained that despite her mother’s good intentions, the emphasis on physical appearance overshadowed the emotional support she truly needed, creating a form of irritation for her late mom, who exuded a high level of confidence, style, and allure. She stated that while empowering, Naomi’s glamour and self-assuredness somehow felt at odds with her own insecurities, creating a dynamic challenge for her.
