Precious Ducklings Turn Backyard Pool Into Their Own Waterpark

Leenie has a duckling problem. A mama mallard has nested near her swimming pool, and the ducklings have completely taken over. Of course, Leenie is helping by adapting the pool to be more animal-friendly. On their first swim, the little babies got stuck and couldn’t hop out of the water to follow Mama Duck. @leenie032 ♬ Funny – Gold-Tiger That led to a trip to Costco and untold expense to create a duckling-friendly space for the little floaters. Leenie has willingly relinquished possession of her pool to the duck family. @leenie032 @costcofinds #mallards #ducklings #babies #socallife ♬ original sound – Leenie Leenie does get some joy out of the pool. Watching the ducklings swim and play all day is not quite as refreshing as a cooling swim, but she gets a lot of laughs out of it. Leenie added wood planks and floaties to help the ducklings get out of the pool. She keeps fresh water for them in the raised flower bed and has built a ramp so they can get to that. That might also be where Mama Duck built her nest. The pool has a smaller brick wading pool at one end. Water flows through a hole left in the wall to keep it circulating. It did not take the ducklings long to find this “private” duckling playground. They also discovered that it is like having their own water park if they slide through the hole and drop into the main pool. Mama duck supervises from the wall as her little ducklings have fun splashing in the pool. @leenie032 #mallards ♬ original sound – Leenie Not being able to use your pool in Southern California can be frustrating. However, when you have a family of growing ducklings who have made it their waterpark, it is a sacrifice worth making.
