Leenie has a duckling problem. A mama mallard has nested near her swimming pool, and the ducklings have completely taken over. Of course, Leenie is helping by adapting the pool to be more animal-friendly. Watching the ducklings swim and play all day is not quite as refreshing as a cooling swim, but she gets a lot of laughs out of it. Leenie added wood planks and floaties to help the ducklings get out of the pool. She keeps fresh water for them in the raised flower bed and has built a ramp so they can get to that. That might also be where Mama Duck built her nest. The pool has a smaller brick wading pool at one end. Water flows through a hole left in the wall to keep it circulating. It did not take the ducklings long to find this “private” duckling playground. They also discovered that it is like having their own water park if they slide through the hole and drop into the main pool.
