Morgan Wallen Seemingly Leaves Open The Possibility Of Another ‘Sand In My Boots’ Festival

Gonna run it back next year? Sand In My Boots festival is officially in the books, and it seems like it’s all that I’ve seen on social media this year. Last year, country superstar Morgan Wallen announced he was taking over the Hangout Music Festival in Gulf Shores, Alabama in 2025, calling it the Sand In My Boots festival and bringing along a lot of his friends and favorite artists to join him on the lineup for the 3-day event. The multi-genre festival, which took place this past weekend from May 16-18, featured performances from everybody from Post Malone, Brooks & Dunn, Hardy, Riley Green to T-Pain, Diplo, Three 6 Mafia, Wiz Khalifa, and many more. Tickets sold out almost immediately after going on sale, and from the pictures and videos it looked like a packed house on the beach. Of course I saw a few complaints from people who weren’t happy with the long lines to get into the restrooms (Isn’t there an ocean right there? Seems like nature’s bathroom is always open) or people who encountered rude concertgoers, but that’s to be expected at pretty much every festival, especially one that’s in its first year. Overall though, it seems like the festival was a massive hit with those who were there, and I don’t think it’s a stretch to say this is going to turn out to be the most talked-about festival of the year – even more than the annual Stagecoach festival in California. Morgan clearly found something that works, but as of right now it seems like Sand In My Boots was a one-time-only event. The festival was billed as a one-year takeover of the existing Hangout Festival, and there haven’t been any plans announced to bring it back in 2026. But after the success of the first year, you’ve gotta think it’s something that organizers would be interested in – and during his closing set last night, Morgan seemed to leave open the possibility of running it back in the future: “Me and a couple of my closest friends and teammates, we’ve been throwing the idea of doing our own festival around for a long time now, and we just happened to run into the right partner and the right people to work with, and with a lot of hard work and a lot of really great artists to come out here, we got to make that happen. I’ve heard nothing but great reports for how this weekend has went.” Morgan then asked the crowd for their feedback, and of course there was a massive roar from those in attendance: “Ok, cool. We’ll try to do it again sometime.” @zachpruittsf Morgan Wallen may do #SandinmyBoots again!? #MorganWallen ♬ original sound – ZachPruitt Is that a hint that Sand In My Boots could become an annual festival? Or is it really going to just be a one-time deal? I’m sure you know, but usually when the music industry hits on something that’s a massive success they’re happy to keep doing it…so I wouldn’t be surprised to see Sand In My Boots festival return sometime in the future, whether that’s next year or later on down the road. The post Morgan Wallen Seemingly Leaves Open The Possibility Of Another ‘Sand In My Boots’ Festival first appeared on Whiskey Riff.
