Elderly Couple Have Hard Time Reaching Friendly Furry Neighbor… So They Improvise!

The Pembroke Welsh Corgi is a breed of dog that many people are fond of. Most people recognize the breed as the favorite of Queen Elizabeth II and the royal family. The breed has two defining characteristics. The first is the bobbing heart shape of their derriere as they walk away. Second is their short stature. When an elderly couple tried to pet their neighbor’s dog, they had problems with that second trait. @datgingerkatie All for the best pets #corgisoftiktok #corgi #corgilove ♬ Take My Hand – Matt Berry Katie Sammon owns the corgi named Poppy. She loves that her friendly neighbors love her dog, but she is distressed that they seem to have difficulty interacting. Not to worry, though. The elderly couple proved to be resourceful, solving the problem creatively. When faced with the dilemma of wanting to pet the neighbor’s dog and offer it treats, the elderly couple came up with a perfect solution. They built the little dog a two-step ladder with wide, sturdy steps. The steps brought the dog up high enough for them to pet without straining, but not too high to allow it to escape. Genius. Image from TikTok. The elderly couple’s solution worked brilliantly. The neighbor’s dog easily climbed to the top step, allowing for easy pets and plenty of treats. As heartwarming as this is, the best part might have been in the comment section. Image from TikTok. The very first comment is pictured above. Sadly, Geneva completely missed who commented (she caught on quickly). State Farm Insurance’s longtime slogan is, “Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there.” It is good to see that whoever runs that account has a sense of humor. However, it appears to be the real Jake from all their ads. Please share if this elderly couple are the best neighbors. You can find the source of this story’s featured image here.
