Another Democrat Congressman Attempts To Visit Kilmar Abrego Garcia In El Salvador, Denied Access
Rep. Glenn Ivey (D-MD) said he was denied access to visit Kilmar Abrego Garcia in El Salvador.
“Today, I was denied access to seeing my constituent, Mr. Kilmar Abrego Garcia. If there is nothing to hide, cut the crap. Let his lawyer and I check on him,” Ivey said.

Per CBS News:
Ivey spoke told WJZ’s Tara Lynch in an exclusive interview on Monday, that the U.S. Ambassador to El Salvador made a formal request on his behalf to the Salvadoran government before his trip.
“We were trying to meet with Kilmar, and that did not come together. I was, frankly, very angry about it,” Ivey said.
Despite this, the congressman said he was told to go back to San Salvador and obtain a permit before he could visit Abrego Garcia in the lower-security prison in Santa Ana.
“…which is pretty ridiculous. It’s an international delegation here,” Ivey said.
On social media, Ivey didn’t hold back his frustration.
“They knew we were coming; they knew why we were coming, and they know we have the right to do this,” Ivey said. “So, they need to just cut the crap, let us get in there and have a chance to see him and talk with him.”
Ivey appeared in the video alongside Abrego Garcia’s attorney and a member of the Maryland-based workers’ union, which Abrego Garcia was a member.

From The Hill:
El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele also said he will not return the man, whom the administration has accused of being part of MS-13, a transnational gang that is designated as a foreign terrorist organization. Abrego Garcia’s attorney and family have denied the accusation.
The man, who was living in Maryland, was shielded by an immigration judge in 2019 from being deported to El Salvador. A Justice Department attorney said in late March that Abrego Garcia, who entered the country illegally, was removed due to an “administrative error.”
“Let us in, stop playing games, let us have a chance to talk with him,” Ivey said Monday.
His comments come after Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) met with Abrego Garcia last month in El Salvador.
