However, this Sunday, the blissful and bustling vacation spot turned into a nightmare after a serious multi-vehicle crash occurred on the iconic Gatlinburg strip. Several people involved in the crash had to be airlifted, and others were taken by ambulances to a local hospital. Marsha Blackburn (@MarshaBlackburn) June 2, 2025 WATE had more details to share regarding the crash: Several people were taken to the hospital after a multi-car crash in downtown Gatlinburg Sunday afternoon. According to a spokesperson with the City of Gatlinburg, the crash happened in the 700 block of Parkway in the downtown area at around 4:15 p.m. Officials said three people were flown to the University of Tennessee Medical Center, while three others were taken to the hospital by ambulance.
