I like it even more now. Late last night, Megan Moroney shared a pretty lengthy teaser of a song she’s previewed before, though with a much shorter clip, of a song seemingly titled “Heartbreaker,” which details how a relationship went sideways… though the guy keeps popping back up every now and then when she’s just about over it… classic. Like many of her songs, it focuses on heartbreak and how she’s coping in the wake of a breakup, and I think her caption on the video “What doesn’t kill you always calls” probably sums it up just about right: “Let me set you the scene November circa 2019 Put a hole in my heart Watched it bleed You said that we were better off strangers I was barely alive, out of 6 feet deep I was 5 Pretty sure they called a hearse outside Okay, that’s dramatic But I survived, then I survived” I love the production on this one too, it’s super catchy and paired with her sassy, always cutting writing. It’s just a really fun song ahead of the summer so I hope we get to hear the full song soon. It sounds like an official studio cut, so it seems likely the full version will be out in the not too distant future: @megmoroneywhat doesn’t kill u always callssssss ♬ original sound – Megan Moroney Megan released her sophomore album Am I Okay? last year, and also put out a Christmas EP called Blue Christmas… Duh at the end of 2024, and she recently said her next record is 80% done, and it will be much more “light and carefree and happy” than her previous two projects: “I’m always writing. I mean, I would say that my next album is probably like 80% written. I just try to live my life and write about it. So that’s kind of how this next album is shaping up, too. Just like the last ones — I was writing about my life experiences. So the strategy behind it hasn’t changed.
