Henry Winkler played Arthur Fonzarelli 50 years ago on Happy Days. We all lovingly remember him as the Fonz, but it’s not always been easy to be America’s favorite tough guy. Henry recently visited Late Night with Seth Meyers and recalled his first date with his wife, Stacy Weitzman, almost five decades ago. The pair went to a movie, and even though Henry tried to convince Stacy to stay in the back of the theatre, she wasn’t interested. “We go to the movies, and I said, ‘It would be better if we sat toward the back of the theater.’ And Stacey said, ‘Why?’ And I said, ‘It’s hard to describe. It would be better if we sat at the back of the theater,’” Henry told Seth. Stacy Soon Realized Why Henry Winkler Wanted To Stay Incognito Henry Winkler told Seth things got out of hand pretty quickly. “We sat down in the middle of the theater, and all of a sudden, the entire theater stood up to come over and say hello. And Stacey turned to me and said, ‘Oh.'” Henry also shared a sweet memory of meeting Stacey’s young son when he went to their home. “I picked her up, and her 4-year-old son answered the door and said, ‘Fonz.’ And I said, ‘My name is Henry. Would you like it if I called you Ralph?’ And so I’m arguing with a 4-year-old about typecasting,” Henry joked. Seth Meyers shared Henry Winkler’s segment on YouTube, and fans fell in love with him again. One wrote, “I met Henry Winkler for like 2 seconds on accident at a convention once. I was standing to the side while my friend was meeting a Supernatural actor. I heard noise behind me, turned around, and looked directly into Henry Winkler’s face.
