It's Not a Protest When You Are Assaulting Officers and Impeding Them

A critical look at the narrative surrounding law enforcement and protests against them.

One of the many ridiculous refrains coming from the left is that the shooting of Renee Good was preventable.

Of course, as a statement of fact, that is absolutely true. But along with that factual statement comes the kicker: if only law enforcement would quit...enforcing the law...everything would be hunky dorey.

The argument is simple, and is being repeated by lawmakers and activists around the country: once people begin impeding law enforcement and assaulting them, the correct thing to do is to quit enforcing the law.

According to a witness to the de@dly ICE incident: “She (referring to Renee Nicole Good) was the main car leading the protest.”

“She was very successful in what she was set to do.” This led to a deeper investigation, and here is what we found:

CONFIRMED: There is a group chat with other activists assigned to follow ICE agents.

The craziest part about these organized activists is that they are led by Democratic state elected officials. State Rep. Alex Falconer and State Rep. Brad Tabke operate semi-private networks that dispatch activists to ICE operations. They are doing this openly with sign-up websites. Tabke’s site, “ICE Watch,” allows for one shift a week. A maximum of three shifts are encouraged. Falconer gave an interview to Eden Prairie Local News, bragging about his “ICE watching network.” Interestingly, he was also speaking against “anti-Somali rhetoric” at a Muslim event center while calling for community involvement against ICE.

It's the "Summer of Love" argument, in a slightly different context. Back in the Summer of 2020, when the City of Seattle was overrun by "protesters" who turned blocks of the city into lawless and crime-ridden zones where people eventually got killed, Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan's response was to call the chaos the "Summer of Love" and to defend the descent into lawlessness.

These are ambush tactics.

We trained for a long time on how to react to the Taliban attempting this exact same tactic against Americans convoys.

This is also exactly what Renee Good was attempting to do when officers tried to arrest her.

Democrats must explicitly and repeatedly implore their voters to stop doing this.

Given the three recent actual ambushes/shootings against ICE, these tactics create an extremely dangerous situation for agents.

Anyone who does this must be arrested and held accountable to establish deterrence.

This is not protected speech, it’s a crime.

It's a bizarre idea, which boils down to this: if some people are willing to attack law enforcement and impede them in doing their work, then the law is invalid, and law enforcement must leave. Of course, this only applies in cases where leftists like the outcome. Kidnapping Riley Gaines to prevent her from speaking was, supposedly, a First Amendment-protected "protest," as is destroying federal law enforcement's cars.

Block them in the streets? Sure, why not? Put up barricades? "Peaceful protests." Drive your car at a federal agent? Of course you can, because you are the good guy.

It's a bizarre myth that calling yourself a "protester" suddenly means you are immune from the rules that apply to everybody else. And that's only the case because there is a massive left-wing infrastructure that supports this entirely incorrect interpretation of the law, not to mention the moral inversion of norms that keep our society viable.

Mayors, Congressmen, Senators, and activists have all gone on TV to demand ICE quit enforcing the law because, I kid you not, they don't want them to.

If only the federal government quit doing its job, there would be no problem. The violence will stop, you see.

That's not how it is supposed to work, you know. But when the Attorney General of my state poses with the Antifa handbook, which describes how to break the law, it is exactly how things work in Blue areas.

Whenever you hear a liberal say "nobody is above the law," remember that they reserve the right to define what the law is, who law enforcement officers are, what constitutes violence, and what "protest" means. They will distort facts, declare war on the federal government, and morally posture when something bad happens.

The New York Times published a video that literally blacked out the moment Renee Good's car hit the officer. CNN describes this woman, who moved here and got training to impede ICE and who drove at an officer, hitting him, as a "mother" and "poet."

We don't yet know whether Renee Good was paid to block ICE, but we do know that she was driving the lead vehicle in a convoy to block ICE from doing its job, and part of an operation to incite violence in front of cameras. She dropped her wife off to film the confrontation.

We also know that the "protesters" are getting paid.

These protesters, who are breaking the law, are shouting death threats at officers as they are doing their jobs, are not ordinary citizens peacefully exercising their First Amendment rights. They are part of a well-funded operation to assault and impede ICE officers, and there have been shootings at ICE officers, which have resulted in the deaths of law enforcement officers.

This very agent had been assaulted by a car just last year.

Democrats are quite literally siding with criminals, including gang members who shoot at federal agents, because they don't like federal agents.

None of this is "protest." It is not legitimate. It is for all intents and purposes insurrection.
