Turner Classic Movies Celebrates Actor Peter Sellers Mondays in September 2025, beginning at 8pm ET all month long.

Richard Henry Sellers, better known as comedic acting genius Peter Sellers, is celebrated with lineups of his memorable films Monday nights this September on TCM beginning on what would have been the star’s 100th birthday (he was born Sept. 8, 1925, in Southsea, Portsmouth, England; he died in London on July 24, 1980, at the age of 54).

Monday, Sept. 8 – Begins at 8pm ET

That first night features five of Sellers’ earlier British films, with highlights including the dark comedy The Ladykillers (1955), costarring Alec Guinness and Herbert Lom, with whom Sellers would later memorably re-team in the Pink Panther movies, and the satirical comedy The Mouse That Roared (1959), one of several films in which Sellers took on multiple roles (he plays three here).

Monday, Sept. 15 – Begins at 8pm ET

Sellers also played three characters, and earned a Best Actor Oscar nomination, in the film that leads off the Sept. 15 lineup: Best Director nominee Stanley Kubrick‘s Best Picture-nominated dark comedy/political satire Dr. Strangelove (1964). Also of note among the four titles that night is another famed Kubrick-helmed dark comedy, 1962’s Lolita, featuring Sellers in a Golden Globe-nominated performance.

Another Golden Globe nom came to Sellers for the first of five films airing on Sept. 22: Blake EdwardsThe Pink Panther (1963), which introduced Sellers’ hilariously bumbling Inspector Jacques Clouseau, a role he reprised for Edwards’ A Shot in the Dark (1964), which follows in the lineup.

The final night of the Sellers celebration on Sept. 29 features five titles, beginning with two more of his collaborations with Edwards: The Party (1968) and The Return of the Pink Panther (1975), which earned him another Golden Globe nomination as Clouseau. The evening also features the last of Sellers’ movies released before his untimely passing, and a fantastic swan song for the beloved star: the 1979 satirical comedy/drama Being There, which netted him a Best Actor Oscar nomination alongside Best Supporting Actor winner Melvyn Douglas.
