Three people are dead after a Wisconsin mother shot and killed her young children‚ wounded the father of the kids‚ and then turned the gun on herself.Around 7:40 p.m. on Feb. 18‚ 34-year-old Jessica Jessmon opened fire on her family members inside their apartment in Middleton‚ Wisconsin‚ according to a statement from the Middleton Police Department. The 31-year-old father suffered multiple gunshot wounds as he fled the home. Police officers were in the Lakeview Village apartment complex at the time of the shooting and the father rushed to them to inform them that he had been shot. The mother reportedly shot and killed her two children – 8-year-old Makyla Lacey-Robinson and 5-year-old Major Lacey-Robinson.Jessmon then allegedly used the firearm to kill herself. The Wisconsin State Journal said police were unsuccessful in making contact with Jessmon‚ who had barricaded herself and the children in the apartment. According to the affidavit‚ Dane County’s Tactical Response Team deployed a surveillance robot into apartment‚ which showed Jessmon unresponsive on the floor.The father survived the shooting‚ and remains hospitalized in stable condition. Middleton Police Capt. Tyler Loether said‚ "We grieve with our community. We are committed to supporting those impacted by this incident and respecting the privacy of the family."Jessmon shared custody of her two children with Sedale Lacey-Robinson‚ according to court documents. In 2019‚ Lacey-Robinson was sentenced to prison for selling heroin laced with fentanyl and cocaine to an undercover officer. During his arrest‚ law enforcement found a handgun at his home. The Wisconsin State Journal reported‚ "Court records show Jessmon and Lacey-Robinson had been in an ongoing custody dispute following his release from four years in federal prison for dealing heroin laced with fentanyl."In 2014‚ Lacey-Robinson was convicted of distributing heroin and sentenced to 18 months in prison. Jessmon‚ a paralegal student‚ also had felony drug convictions from a decade ago‚ according to court records. According to the Wisconsin State Journal‚ Jessmon had agreed to get back together with Lacey-Robinson‚ but then he married another woman. An active-duty member of the U.S. Air Force set himself on fire outside the Israeli embassy in Washington‚ DC‚ on Sunday. The man said he was engaging in an "extreme" act of protest against Israel invading Gaza after the Hamas terrorist attack of Oct. 7‚ 2023. At approximately 1:00 p.m.‚ the Metropolitan Police Department responded to the 3500 block of International Drive‚ NW‚ to "assist the United States Secret Service after an individual set themselves on fire in front of an embassy in the block." A jarring photo of the man setting himself on fire was posted on the X social media platform. The man is seen wearing fatigues and covered in flames. Talia Jane‚ an independent reporter‚ alleged to have posted the extremely graphic video of the man setting himself on fire – which she claimed to have shared with major media outlets. The video begins with Bushnell identifying himself as an active duty member of the U.S. Air Force and saying‚ "I will no longer be complicit in genocide." Bushnell says that he is "about to engage in an extreme act of protest‚ but compared to what people have been experiencing in Palestine at the hands of their colonizers‚ this is not extreme at all." Bushnell is seen pouring liquid on his body before lighting himself on fire. As he's being burned alive‚ he repeatedly screams: "Free Palestine!" If Google CEO Sundar Pichai is serious about his company maintaining any kind of position at the vanguard of the AI revolution‚ it's going to have to do a lot better than the embarrassing AI chatbot Gemini. There's no excuse‚ for example‚ for such an important new product from a tech giant of Google's size and stature producing laughably inaccurate images of historical figures; nor any excuse for refusing to state that pedophilia is objectively bad ("Pedophiles are not necessarily dangerous" is a statement this ridiculous chatbot actually produced); or taking the absurd posture that misgendering someone is worse than nuclear annihilation; or refusing to state that Hitler's actions were worse than reckless tweets from Elon Musk. When did Google get so bad at the easy things? Pollster Nate Silver weighed in Sunday on X/Twitter‚ displaying Gemini's response to what was obviously an easy lay-up of a question: “Who negatively impacted society more‚ Elon tweeting memes or Hitler?” Responded Gemini‚ per Silver's tweet: "It is not possible to say who definitively impacted society more‚ Elon tweeting memes or Hitler. Elon’s tweets have been criticized for being insensitive and harmful‚ while Hitler’s actions led to the deaths of millions of people. Ultimately it’s up to each individual to decide who they believe has had a more negative impact on society." That brings us to Google Gemini product lead Jack Krawczyk. He's someone who‚ first and foremost‚ wasn't shy about espousing his hardcore leftism via X‚ as is evident below.
