California still bleeding residents amid looming $68B deficit as population flees to Republican states

Residents of California continued to leave the state in 2023 with reports showing many defectors heading to Arizona‚ Texas‚ Florida‚ and North Carolina. After 410‚000 residents left the state in 2020-2021‚ and another 340‚000 between 2021-2022‚ several reports have indicated the trend continued in 2023 as the Golden State racked up a $38 billion deficit. The state also projects a $68 billion deficit for 2024-2025.An August 2023 report from moving company Pods reported that Los Angeles ranked first in terms of cities that saw the most residents move out. Second was the San Francisco/Bay Area‚ both of which held their positions from the year before.Stockton-Modesto and Santa Barbara‚ California also made the same list at ninth and tenth‚ respectively. At the same time‚ the Carolinas‚ Florida‚ and Texas saw the highest number of people move into their cities. Wilmington‚ North Carolina‚ and Myrtle Beach‚ South Carolina‚ combined to top the list‚ while other North Carolina locations‚ including Charlotte‚ Asheville‚ and Raleigh each made the top 20 destinations. Greenville - Spartanburg‚ South Carolina‚ came in tenth.Houston‚ Dallas-Forth Worth‚ and San Antonio were the top Texas destinations for new residents‚ too.Phoenix‚ Arizona‚ also made the list‚ a popular destination for Californians in addition to Texas.According to a report from the San Francisco Chronicle‚ more than 175‚000 California residents moved to Arizona (74‚000) and Texas (102‚000) in 2021-2022. While 69‚000 moved westward from the those states‚ that's still a net migration of -106‚000 for California.Net-negative migration has been a growing trend for Gavin Newsom's state under his rule; from 2017-2021‚ one in every five people moving to Arizona were from California‚ Yahoo! News stated. Then there's Florida: Sarasota‚ Orlando‚ Ocala‚ Jacksonville‚ Tampa Bay‚ and Melbourne were all included in the top-20 list of most move-ins for 2023‚ as well. The Sunshine State also saw over 50‚000 Californians move to the east coast in 2021-2022.What's worse for California is that more than 500‚000 residents with at least a bachelor's degree have moved out of the state between 2021-2022‚ the LA Times reported. While approximately 350‚000 college graduates moved-in during the same time period‚ that's still a net loss of 150‚000.This has contributed to a 25% drop in personal income tax collection in 2023‚ the outlet claimed‚ which helped add to the state's shiny new $68 billion deficit projection. While complicated‚ the deficit is due in part to both over-spending and the aforementioned mass exodus. The state's own report added that "revenues are lower than Budget Act projections by $58 Billion" while it also anticipated a "deficit of around $14 billion."Simply put‚ the state was always going to spend more money than it had‚ but spent way more due to overestimating its revenues and underestimating its deficit. The state's debt skyrocketed over just one fiscal year‚ increasing by over seven times from -$5.1 billion to -$38 billion. For fiscal year 2024-2025‚ it is projected to nearly double once more to -$67.59 billion. Not to worry‚ because the state's same forecasters project "flat revenue growth for 2023-24‚ with positive growth returning in 2024-25 and beyond."Like Blaze News? Study linking ghastly tests on corpses and live dogs to sex-change surgeries re-emerges‚ sparking outrage

Chinese scientists made a show years ago of mutilating live dogs and human corpses in hopes of better equipping mentally ill women with mock penises. Over the weekend‚ feminists took to pressing animal rights activists about their silence on the matter. Although only recently making the rounds on social media‚ the study now inflaming feminists was published in 2018 by the medical journal Sexual Medicine. The study chronicled the nightmarish efforts by Zhuming Yin and his team from the communist-controlled Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and Peking Union Medical College to "develop a 1-stage prosthesis-free dynamic cavernosa reconstruction method using bilateral innervate gracilis muscles." In other words‚ Yin and his team were developing a new and improved way of mutilating the female clitoris and thigh muscles in order to construct fake penises for transvestites. Yin and his team justified their work in part by highlighting an increasing number of patients with "gender dysphoria" and a corresponding rise in "demand for anatomic‚ functional‚ and esthetic penile reconstruction." There appears to be a growing market for the expensive procedures‚ especially in the U.S.‚ where the number of minors ages 6-17 diagnosed with so-called gender dysphoria has skyrocketed in recent years. Reuters reported that in 2017‚ there were 15‚172 new diagnoses in the United States. In 2021‚ there were 41‚167. The number is likely to continue rising. The JAMA Network Open indicated on the basis of a cohort study including data from the Nationwide Ambulatory Survey Sample and the National Inpatient Sample‚ sex-change operations nearly tripled from 2016 to 2019. While gruesome options were already available to women seeking sex changes‚ the Chinese study noted that such surgeries involved multiple stages as well as various complications‚ specifically with the implantation of an "erectile prosthesis‚" including dysfunction‚ "prosthesis malposition‚ infection‚ protrusion‚ and leakage." To test their one-stage sex-change method‚ the scientists first experimented on the remains of 10 freshly deceased human beings who had been between the ages of 38 and 73. The study indicated these dissections served as a proof of concept for transformation of thigh muscles‚ skin flaps‚ and corpora cavernosa into monstrous aggregates intended to altogether resemble male phalli. After butchering the dead‚ Yin and his team set their sights on 11 mixed-breed female dogs‚ all between the ages of 11 and 13 months old. The canine subjects were loaded full of ketamine‚ fentanyl‚ and other drugs‚ then subjected to "penile reconstruction surgery." "Each dog after surgery was equipped with a large-sized Elizabethan collar to prevent the animal from biting and licking the surgical site‚" said the study. "The animals were examined daily within 2 weeks after surgery until the wound healed completely." The Chinese scientists then subjected the transmogrified creatures to further indignities‚ electrocuting the dogs' transplanted thigh muscles to test whether their alien parts would attain "sufficient hardness to complete sexual intercourse." In what was apparently the first and last mercy shown to the dogs‚ Yin's team euthanized all of the test subjects after seven months of assessments — with the exception of one canid that died after the surgery. The fake penises on the dead dogs were then "harvested" for further study. It appears some American researchers have already put the Chinese experiments into the service of the transgender agenda stateside. A team of researchers at the Center for Gender Surgery‚ Boston Children's Hospital‚ cited the study in October 2022 as evidence of a surgical means to help "transgender men achieve penetrative function after phalloplasty." The feminist publication Reduxx drew attention to the study Sunday as well as to the recent efforts of critics to rouse the concern of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. One feminist wrote to PETA‚ "You protest against milking cows; how about protesting against something truly horrible?" "Yet when they were testing women's cosmetics on rabbits - there were world wide protests. what could the difference be?" wrote another self-described feminist. "They experimented on female dogs in the name in gender ideology and trans 'health care‚'" wrote another feminist. "They butchered them and sewed on fake penises. Another horror in the miles long ever expanding list of horrors to come out of this madness." The X account Real Parents of Loudoun County cast doubt on the purported ethical nature of the Chinese experiments and stressed‚ "It's time to end these practices. No one is born in the wrong body." Sporting goods retail chain reportedly fires employees for chasing after shoplifter who stole firearm: 'I just took off'

Three employees at a Louisiana sporting goods store were reportedly fired last month for intercepting a thief who tried to steal a firearm from their store. On Dec. 16‚ a routine interaction between an Academy Sports + Outdoors sales associate and a potential customer turned into a crime when that customer ran out of the store with a firearm that he did not purchase.Michelle Sutton‚ a team leader at the store‚ told WGNO-TV that she flung into action when she heard a distressing call over her store radio about the theft. "I just took off‚" Sutton said.Sutton and two other store associates chased after the suspect — but they were too late. The thief was long gone. Unfortunately‚ that's not where this story ends.Four days after the incident‚ Sutton said Academy's corporate firearm compliance personnel contacted her. But instead of thanking her and her colleagues for attempting to intercept the stolen firearm — noble action considering stolen firearms are frequently used in violent crimes — Sutton was informed that her employment with Academy had been terminated. Her two colleagues were also fired.Corporate informed the employees they had violated company policy. That policy‚ according to WGNO‚ states that employees are prohibited from pursuing or restraining shoplifting suspects. But Sutton said that while she and her colleagues had technically exited the building‚ they remained on the sidewalk. They had hoped to obtain information about the shoplifter for police‚ such as a vehicle tag number."I know my store director had said that they want you to be able to get the make and model of a vehicle‚ you know‚ maybe a direction in which way the vehicle went‚" she explained.Sutton‚ moreover‚ said retail stores‚ especially stores that sell firearms‚ need clearer expectations for employees."Every store that sells firearms‚ especially pistols that are concealable‚ need to have clear policy. They need to have extra training. They need to prepare for the unexpected‚" she said.Blaze News reached out to a representative for Academy and the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office for this story. Neither Academy nor the JPSO returned a response. Academy employees fired for response to Metairie firearm theft www.youtube.com This is not the first time employees have been fired for trying to intercept thieves.Last year‚ two Lululemon employees in Georgia lost their jobs after confronting shoplifters; their actions eventually helped police arrest the thieves. Then in July 2023‚ an employee of a King Soopers grocery store in Colorado was fired for confronting shoplifters as they loaded stolen loot into a vehicle. Like Blaze News?
