DOMESTIC. Estonia sank after Russian agents opened the gates of the ship's stern and dumped trucks carrying military items. The spectacular theory is now being spread in the Estonian media, after the Finnish naval rescue chief Harri Ruotsalainen told the newspaper giant Õhtuleht that during a sonar search at the bottom in 1994 he saw objects a few hundred meters from the wreck that were probably trucks.


Ruotsalainen refers to sonar images he saw that were taken immediately after the accident, and which he believes give reason to assume that part of the cargo was dumped from the ship, and that it was this operation that meant the end of the passenger ferry.

In the autumn of 1994, Ruotsalainen worked as an engineer for the Finnish rescue service in Helsinki and took part in the rescue operation after the sinking of Estonia.

The cargo that actually existed in Estonia is stated in the so-called cargo manifesto, which is locked behind a red iron gate in a shelter at the bottom under the closely guarded police headquarters Kronoberg in Stockholm. Estonian conspiracy theorist Jüri Lina claims in an article in Nya Tider that he has his own sources that tell what happened during Ruotsalainen's meeting with Estonian MPs this week. According to them, Ruotsalainens is said to have informed that Finnish sonar discovered at least two large square objects that had been dumped from M / S Estonia at a depth of 90 meters at 00:55 on 28 September 1994, judging by the trace left by the ship on Finnish radar .

The sonar images had been produced by Igor Volke, an Estonian UFO enthusiast who then worked at the Estonian rescue service. The impact side then becomes too strong and the ship sinks with the chimney pointing obliquely towards the bottom.

According to Ruotsalainen, the quantities of gravel and stone that the Norwegian ship Tertnes dumped over Estonia in 1996 on behalf of the Swedish Maritime Administration should not have been dumped on Estonia's wrecks, but on the trucks located 400 meters from the wreck. However, it is unclear how he knows.

Jüri Lina writes that Ekre member Anti Poolamets during the meeting is said to have said that a sabotage group from the Russian military intelligence service GRU was on board Estonia and had the task of sinking the ship. It is also unclear where the information about this assignment, which GRU would have received from the relatively Western-friendly Yeltsin regime, comes from.
