DOMESTIC. A parliamentary committee will now investigate whether, in certain cases, it will be possible to revoke citizenship for immigrants.
The committee must investigate some questions about the protection of fundamental freedoms and rights that applies according to ch. 2. the form of government.
It must also be considered whether this protection should be changed in certain parts and whether completely new fundamental freedoms and rights should be introduced.
Among other things, the committee will assess whether it should be possible to revoke the citizenship of persons with dual citizenship who have "committed systemic crime, crimes against humanity or certain other international crimes or other very serious crimes, or whose citizenship was acquired as a result of false information or through other improper procedure".
At the same time, the government wants to add a "right to abortion", a right to judicial review and a "general protection against discrimination" in the form of government.
The committee must also assess whether there should be increased possibilities to limit freedom of association in relation to criminal associations, and what general conditions should apply for a restriction on freedom of business and the protection of property to be acceptable.
The assignment must be reported by 1 December 2024 at the latest.
