Mind-Blowing: We Bet You’ve Never Seen An Antique “Murphy” Sink Before!

As we move toward more tiny homes, we might need to put this “blast from the past” back into use. Most people call them a “Murphy” sink because it operates much like a Murphy bed. The correct name, which you’ll want to know if you like these contraptions, is folding train sink. No matter what you call it, it is a very neat doodad if you’re tight on space. @scrub.n.bubbles Ever seen one of these before? #boise #cleantok #fyp #fypageシ ♬ original sound – Scrub ‘N Bubbles The inventor of the folding train sink is often said to be William Lawrence Murphy. Murphy did invent the Murphy Bed, but no one knows who invented the sink design. The original patent is from 1908, but no inventor’s name was on the patent at the time. The design was a regular installation in trains by the Pullman Company. This style of sink was common in homes with a water closet, a small toilet room typically located under a stairwell, during the 1800s. The rooms were too small to accommodate both a toilet and a conventional sink, but became functional with the use of a “Murphy” sink. Image from TikTok. In the closed position, the sink resembles a decorative wall tile. When opened, it reveals a solid basin with no drain. The drain is in the wall. Water in the basin flows down the drain when the sink is put in the closed position. People have been discovering these unique sinks in older homes and Airbnb properties. They are appearing on social media, which is rekindling a new purpose for this unique item. People building tiny homes or recreational vehicles are liking the compact and functional design. Although pricey, several new designs are available for these new uses. Please share if you want one of these in your home. You can find the source of this story’s featured image here. Sweet Little Conure Finds Unconventional Spot To Cuddle Up Close To Mom

Marelispinata shares her birds with fans online. She has two conures that might be a little crazy about their human. The two birds are both cuddle bugs, but one is a little more insistent. Her human mom calls her Piña bird, perhaps because of her coloring. Piña, directly translated, means pineapple. This little conure, who loves to cuddle, is adorable. @marelispinata Piña bird understands that kisses are a form of affection. She will nestle up against my face just to make the kissy noises ofc, it always turns into a cuddle session & this time she ended up in my glasses! I never get tired of this. #GreenCheekConure #BirdTok #BirdLove #Snuggles ♬ original sound – Headbangers Dan Piña knows that kisses are a way that humans show affection. The conure has perfected the “kissy noises” and will cuddle as close as possible. She loves to sit on her mom’s shoulder and nuzzle her mom’s cheek. Sometimes she can get slightly pushy, as evidenced by the time she pushed into Mom’s glasses. Although Piña does love to cuddle her mom’s cheek, the conure also wiggles her way into other cuddly spots. @marelispinata Replying to @uncommonanjali I’m rich thanks for sharing in on the love, everyone! #GreenCheekConure #birdtok #PiñaBird #CocoBird #prettylittlebaby #wholesome ♬ original sound – ?????? ?????? ☆ If you are considering a bird, conures are available in a variety of colors. They range in size from small to medium. They are a time commitment of around 20 years. Conures are playful, curious, and enjoy the company of others. They are very vocal and will scream when they want attention. Additional Training For A Cuddle Conure Conures can learn words and will pick up some words and sounds easily, but they are not “easy” to train. However, they may learn unintentionally if they hear a phrase or sound enough. A friend’s conure now says, “Shut yer pie hole” quite audibly and frequently. It wasn’t me, although I did laugh every time the little bird said it. They will also learn repetitive sounds, so don’t worry if your bird beeps like a microwave or barks like a dog. These animals are pretty intelligent. They can learn commands and tricks, and they do recognize their humans. They can be potty-trained if you are patient enough. There are lots of training videos on the All Parrots YouTube channel. If you want a bird, but not an 80-year commitment, a cute and cuddly conure might be a perfect fit. Please share. Is Mars really red? A physicist explains the truth.

Mars isn't a bright, fire-engine red, but the iron oxide in its rocks makes it appear redder than other planets, especially from afar.
