The Biden administration’s global ambassador for all things LGBT was a travel diva with no regard for cost, who even got smacked down for “inappropriate” spending requests as she traveled on the government dime, according to a batched of emails obtained by The Daily Wire. The emails show that Jessica Stern, the Biden State Department’s Special Envoy to Advance the Human Rights of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Intersex Persons, failed to report travel expenses on time, requested a costly car for a week in Rome, and berated staff for missing vegetarian meals on her flights as she jetted around the world pushing far-left ideology, according to a batched of emails obtained by The Daily Wire. Stern raked in $180,000 a year as her state-sanctioned LGBT activism took her to all six habitable continents, with stops in places like Fiji and Brazil, where she traveled on the taxpayer dime to march alongside a “transvestite sl*t,” a previous Daily Wire exposé found. Documents reviewed by The Daily Wire, obtained by the Center to Advance Security in America (CASA) show that Stern, who left her post after President Donald Trump’s re-election, failed to even report her travel expenses on time. The envoy, who said in her emails that she identifies with “all pronouns,” even admitted that she didn’t know where she would find her expenses after a State Department official asked for her accounting. “We are still waiting on last year’s accounting for travel from your office … before approving further travel,” wrote a State Department official whose name is redacted in October 2022. “We have every other office except yours. I have asked several times and no one has provided. An email from a State Department staffer to Stern indicates that the LGBT envoy was originally set to get a rental van in Rome for a week at the cost of $7,000, but that the plan was shot down because of the excessive cost. Stern then hoped to get a rental car for $3,000 to $4,000. “Sorry for the hassle and expense. This is a stupid way to spend money,” Stern admitted in an email to Christopher Le Mon, the former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor. “Apparently there aren’t options due to a taxi shortage. Do you think we could swing $3-4K for a car?” Le Mon shot down the proposal. “No, I do not think that $3k for a car for five days can be supported. We have asked offices to cut entire trips,” he said in an email. “The overall climate we are in is one of cost consciousness.” Memorial Day Sale – Get 40% Off New DailyWire+ Annual Memberships Then another State Department official pushed Le Mon to give his approval. “Emb Rome has been able to shave SE Stern’s costs down and is urging me to find out today whether the updated transportation estimates would work,” the unnamed State Department staffer wrote. “Could you authorize the hotel-airport transfers?” Le Mon denied the ask for the costly car again and called the request “inappropriate.” “Apologies for not being clearer earlier: I’m not going to approve standby transportation in Rome in this budget environment,” Le Mon said in response. “To again make the point I made earlier, there have been DRL trips disapproved where the entire cost of the trip was less than $4000.” “It’s inappropriate to keep asking for several thousand dollars for a car,” Le Mon admonished Stern. “Airport transfers and ground transportation can be done by taxi or Uber the same way other DRL principals traveling to European capitals have done,” he added. “I apologize but I do not have time for further back and forth on this question.” Obtained by The Daily Wire In another exchange over travel arrangements, Stern berated State Department staff in an “urgent” message about her vegetarian meal preferences. “This is urgent,” Biden’s LGBT activist wrote. “I have taken many flights since I have joined the State Department, and the airlines have repeatedly had no record of my vegetarian meal.” “This is a serious problem,” she added.“I ask you to assure me that my vegetarian meal has been ordered for my flights this week, and I ask you to confirm how this can be corrected moving forward.” Obtained by The Daily Wire An unnamed State Department staffer sprung into action in a follow up email. “I have added the requests for the vegetarian meals to the reservations you currently have booked.” It is unclear if Stern successfully received her vegetarian meals on subsequent flights. She did not respond to a request for comment. “Biden State Department LGBT Special Envoy Jessica Stern repeatedly advocated for excessive taxpayer resources to travel the world in luxury,” CASA Director James Fitzpatrick told The Daily Wire. “The Trump administration has since eliminated Stern’s position and the Biden era of using government resources for LGBT advocacy is over.” While the documents don’t outline how much money was spent on Stern’s travel, one spreadsheet shows that Stern and another State Department official working to advance the Biden administration’s LGBT agenda dropped almost $42,000 in taxpayer funds over roughly five months. Those funds went towards everything from interpreters to an “overtime photographer” on her trips to Peru, Nepal, Hungary, and other countries across the world. “While the working men and women of this country were struggling, Stern was asking for more of their money for a private car and a photographer.” Fitzpatrick said. “The American people are sick and tired of this type of irresponsible behavior from their government officials.” Since leaving the State Department, Stern has “rejoined the resistance” and is working to create a leftwing organization to oppose the Trump administration. She’s also teaching a new generation of activists at Columbia University in a seminar that “offers students an opportunity to reflect, in-depth, on the challenges and opportunities of working on LGBTI rights transnationally.”

There isn’t an official title yet for the show, but here’s the logline, per Variety: When a mysterious sea creature terrorizes a remote Newfoundland town, a hard-bitten fisherman must fight to protect his family, his community and his vanishing way of life. With Hartnett taking on the lead role, he’ll either be playing the “hard-bitten fisherman“ or the “mysterious sea creature.” Or perhaps both! Or probably not; odds are more than good that he’ll be that rugged fisherman, and will likely sport a beard for the part. Hartnett has recently starred in the movie Trap, [ed note: I think you mean “the stone-cold MASTERPIECE Trap”] and he’s also known for his roles on Penny Dreadful, Oppenheimer, and several films of the ‘90s and ‘00s including The Faculty, Black Hawk Down, Pearl Harbor, and Lucky Number Slevin. Five inmates who escaped a New Orleans jail Friday remained at large Thursday, and Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry has repeatedly suggested that Hungarian American billionaire George Soros is at least partly to blame. Ten inmates escaped, five have been captured, and five remain at large, Louisiana State Police confirmed to The Daily Signal Thursday afternoon. A multistate manhunt is ongoing after the inmates escaped after midnight Friday from Orleans Parish Prison, the city jail for New Orleans. A technician at the jail faces charges for allegedly assisting the escape. Landry, a Republican, pointed the finger at Soros, who supported the campaigns of local law enforcement, in one case indirectly. Landry said the jail falls under Sheriff Susan Hutson’s jurisdiction, and he blamed Hutson and District Attorney Justin Williams for allowing the jail to become overcrowded. PAC for Justice, which supported Hutson’s 2021 campaign, received $150,000 from the Sixteen Thirty Fund, according to public records. The Open Society Policy Center gave Sixteen Thirty Fund $23.8 million in 2021, according to IRS records. While donors besides Soros contribute to Open Society and donors besides Open Society contribute to Sixteen Thirty Fund, Soros does influence Sixteen Thirty Fund’s philanthropy. Neither the Open Society Foundations nor Sixteen Thirty Fund responded to The Daily Signal’s request for comment. Soros’ Prosecutors Soros has spent money propping up local district attorneys across the country who champion a form of criminal justice reform that critics say goes soft on criminals and allows crime to fester. “Unfortunately, George Soros and other liberal billionaires have focused on electing to office prosecutors who are committed to not prosecuting entire categories of crimes and not seeking appropriate punishments for those who are convicted of committing even violent crimes,” Zack Smith, a senior legal fellow at The Heritage Foundation, told The Daily Signal. He co-authored the book “Rogue Prosecutors: How Radical Soros Lawyers Are Destroying America’s Communities.” “This push to implement a radical ideological agenda has come at the expense of doing the basic blocking-and-tackling needed to keep communities safe, and, unfortunately, this appears to be yet another manifestation of that phenomenon,” Smith added. Soros’s Open Society Foundations, now run by his son, Alex Soros, has bankrolled a broad swath of left-leaning organizations. The Jailbreak and the Manhunt Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill, a Republican, is investigating the jailbreak, while the Louisiana State Police head up the effort to recapture the inmates. Jared Sandifer confirmed to The Daily Signal that the police arrested 32-year-old Cortnie Harris and 38-year-old Corvanntay Baptiste, who are the girlfriends of two escapees, according to Fox News Digital. Sandifer confirmed that Leo Tate (Harris’ boyfriend, according to Fox) remains at large while police captured Corey Boyd (Baptiste’s boyfriend, according to Fox) Tuesday. Murrill’s office arrested 33-year-old Sterling Williams, a technician at the jail, on Tuesday, charging him with abetting the escape. Inmates tampered with a cell door and sneaked out through a hole in the wall behind a metal toilet while Williams had stepped away for food after midnight. One of the inmates asked Williams to turn the water off in the cell from which the inmates later escaped. Rather than reporting the inmate, Williams turned the water off, “allowing the inmates to carry out their scheme to successfully escape,” according to Murrill’s office. Hutson has suspended her reelection campaign in the jailbreak’s aftermath. Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office Maj. Silas Phipps Jr. said the department was “underfunded, understaffed, underpaid.” Murrill said, “Someone clearly dropped the ball, and there’s no excuse for this.” When the inmates escaped, they left a message on the wall above the hole reading, “To Easy LoL.” The inmates were in the jail on a variety of charges, including murder, aggravated assault with a firearm, and domestic abuse battery.
