A day at Hershey Park powered by a six-inch short hoagie from Wawa and the gas it takes to get there costs Pennsylvanians over 52% more in 2024 than it did in 2019, according to a new website that pins the drastic rise in price for everyday items in the state to Democrat policies. The new website, Bobflation.com, targets Sen. Bob Casey (D-PA) and Vice President Kamala Harris, slamming the Democrats’ policies for sending “the cost of Pennsylvania’s most iconic products and experiences SKYROCKETING.” Released by Casey’s Republican opponent Dave McCormick, it allows you to select different items and see how much they cost compared to the price under f0rmer President Donald Trump. According to the website, a one-day ticket at the famous Hershey Park costs $60 today, a 50% increase from the $39.95 admissions fee in 2019. A six-inch short hoagie from Wawa was $4.00 in 2019 and now costs nearly $7.00. A gallon of gas in Pennsylvania is averaging $3.62, which is up from $2.29 in 2019. Other favorite items that have gone up in price in the Biden-Harris economy include a plain cheesesteak from John’s Roast Pork, which is up 23% since 2019, and a Pitts-Burger and Cheese from Primanti’s, which is up 37%. Pennsylvania is a vital swing state in the 2024 election, and both Republican and Democratic presidential campaigns have heavily focused on reaching out to Pennsylvanians in recent weeks. Along with the state being up for grabs for former President Donald Trump and Democratic candidate Harris, Sen. Casey is in a close race with GOP Senate candidate David McCormick. The economy has topped the list of issues for Pennsylvania voters in recent surveys with one in three voters saying it was the most important issue heading into the 2024 election, according to a Quinnipiac poll taken in late June. Another poll from the Commonwealth Foundation released in early July showed that four out of the top five issues for Pennsylvania voters were all related to the economy. Both Harris and Casey have been open about the drastic rise in prices under Democrats’ watch, but they have pinned the blame for Americans’ economic woes on “greedflation” and corporate “price gouging.” “Here’s a real question moms ask me in Pennsylvania: ‘What am I supposed to do if I can’t afford diapers?’ In just six months, a box of diapers went up $15. And corporations say your prices are up only because their costs are up,” Casey said during his speech at the Democratic National Convention earlier this month. “They’re selling you a lie in the bag with the diapers. Raising orphaned baby beavers is time-consuming, expensive, and exhausting, but that doesn’t stop Holley Muraco. She and her family operate a beaver sanctuary with Woodside Wildlife Rescue in Mississippi. We first met Holley and one of her little charges last June. Tulip is an adorable baby beaver that loves bananas. Today, Tulip is battling a skin infection and other health problems. Due to her early health problems, she has stunted growth and will remain tiny. As you can see, the tiny beaver is wearing an infant onesie that fits her perfectly! The clothing helps to keep Tulip from grooming with medicated ointments on, which allows the medicine to work. They also look adorable. You can watch Tulip get super sassy in a longer YouTube video. Holley also describes the skin condition and the efforts to heal Tulip. You can also see Tulip eating her favorite snack, bananas. When Holley first dressed Tulip, she was not fond of the shirt. Once the skin condition clears, little Tulip can run around nekkie again. Holley has been working with orphaned baby beavers since 2020 and holds a PhD in marine mammals. In Mississippi, beavers are considered a “nuisance” animal, and state laws allow hunters to kill beavers on sight. Like Tulip’s parents, many beaver parents head out foraging for food and never return for their young. At the time of her rescue, the tiny baby beaver had pneumonia and bumblefoot. Her skin infection developed due to immune system issues. She would have died without the intervention of Holley and other humans at the Beaver Sanctuary. The “mainstream” media messaging machine spent the whole Democrat convention channeling the notion of “reintroducing” Kamala Harris to America, relying on the assumption that vice presidents are only seen and not heard. For all of the journalists who suddenly want to channel the same aspirational biracial narrative that marked Barack Obama’s march to the White House, we must note that these autobiographies can be heavily shaped and edited, which is why the word “reintroduction” should land like a brick. Obama’s “autobiography” was riddled with fictional elements, even composite girlfriends. On the front page of The New York Times on August 26 is a story explaining that the Harris campaign has an allergy to noting their candidate was born in the radical tumult of Berkeley in the 1960s. Instead, a convention video listed her childhood home as located in “East Bay.” It can’t be “The People’s Republic of Berkeley” in anyone’s reintroduction to moderate voters. Reporters Heather Knight and Alexandra Berzon acknowledged Kamala’s mother Shyamala was “steeped in the social activism vibrant in both Berkeley and Oakland.” They told readers that the word “Berkeley” went missing early in her career, when Harris ran for Attorney General of California in 2008. But in other places, it’s more explicit. On their podcast The Daily -- broadcast across the country on taxpayer-subsidized National Public Radio -- Times reporter Astead Herndon underlined that activism was prominent in her upbringing. “This is someone who is growing up really around not only just a Black community, but a very prideful, rich history of Blackness…The Black Panthers’ headquarters was blocks from her house.” Her parents made “a very intentional effort to place their children in Black affirmation spaces,” teaching black history in a radical activist way. The “reintroduction” shapers also left out Kamala’s teenage years in Canada. From 1976 to 1982 (from roughly 12 to 18), she lived in Montreal, where her mother worked at McGill University. The Times noted Montreal “fared even worse than Berkeley” at the convention. “The city’s name was completely excised from Ms. Harris’s re-telling of her childhood.” With Obama and Harris, their narrative of negotiating the world as a biracial American is incredibly fluid, depending on which voting bloc you’re targeting. In his podcast interview, Herndon talked up Harris as a prosecutor, and how it explains “the story of somebody who believes you can be multiple things at the same time. You can be an empathetic progressive, but also believe in punishment and in accountability.” That’s not at all what San Francisco prosecutors are known for, but it’s an election year, so it’s time to fudge. Herndon and the rest of the pro-Democrat press just want to defeat Donald Trump, and they would prefer that Harris be very difficult to pigeonhole as a leftist. He says “she is a vessel that you can see what you want to see in. If you want to see a progressive, there’s enough there you probably can. If you want to see a moderate, you probably can see that, too. And so what I think is one of the stories here is an ideological fluidity that was once seen as a problem is now being seen as a solution.” Confusion is a solution. They're not hiding their advocacy at all. Herndon admits that all that intentional blurring makes it difficult to know how Harris would govern as president, but for the Democrats inside and outside the press, this is not the time to care.  That’s a problem (and a project) for 2025.
