Family Thought They Would Just Foster a Cat But Soon Realized She Was the Missing Piece in Their Home

A family thought they would just foster a cat but soon realized she was the missing piece in their home. MarisolBest_Friends_FelinesBest Friends Felines‚ a cat rescue‚ took in a friendly beige cat and her six newborn kittens when their owners could no longer care for them. The cat named Marisol was a wonderful mother to her demanding six. She kept them clean and well-fed and tended to their every whim. She was gentle and sweet with people and other animals."She integrated into her foster home without a second thought‚" Kerry of Best Friends Felines shared. Best_Friends_FelinesWhen the kittens were weaned and independent‚ they quickly found good homes. Without a hoard of kittens to look after‚ Marisol thrived in her "single" life and started playing like a young cat again."She is prone to the zoomies at times but is happy to settle down at the end of the evening for a lovely sleep - her sleeping spot of preference is the bed." Best_Friends_FelinesMonths later‚ Marisol was still waiting for a family to scoop her up. She was transferred to another foster home where she could get more attention and love she craved.Tahlia decided to open her home to a foster cat after her beloved cat‚ Rosie‚ passed away. Best_Friends_FelinesShe wasn't ready to adopt but felt called to help another cat in need as a way to mend her broken heart. She welcomed Marisol in with open arms‚ and the cat quickly settled into her new space.Marisol explored around the house with such confidence and claimed every inch she touched. Best_Friends_FelinesShe watched as her foster mom went about her day‚ learned her routines‚ and became acquainted with the resident cat‚ a tabby named Remy.Feeling secure and loved‚ she began to express her affection in a new way. One day‚ Marisol joined her people on the couch and wriggled into their arms. Her soft nuzzles turned into full-body leans. Marisol and her foster mom‚ Tahlia‚ became very close over timeBest_Friends_Felines"Now‚ she cuddles on the couch with us every day and won't let us go to the bathroom alone‚" Tahlia shared. Marisol shadows her humans around the house‚ always ready to offer a paw or a sweet purr."I tried to keep from falling in love with Marisol because I knew one day someone would give her a forever home‚ but over time‚ as we grew closer and she started being so loving towards us‚ it got harder and harder." Marisol enjoys cuddle time with her human dadBest_Friends_FelinesThe bond between Marisol and their cat‚ Remy‚ also grew. Remy was thrilled to have a best friend again‚ a kindred spirit to lounge on the bed with.Sitting next to each other‚ Marisol tucks her paws in a loaf while Remy lies with his paws relaxed and unfurled. They watch the day go by like two old pals. Marisol and Remy are best friends for lifeBest_Friends_FelinesMarisol filled a void in the family like a lost puzzle piece clicking into place‚ and they knew she was where she belonged. After a year of being in foster care‚ Marisol finally found her perfect family and her happily ever after. They love lounging on the bed together like two old palsBest_Friends_Felines"I'm happy to say she is now a permanent part of our little family‚ and we couldn't imagine life without her." Really‚ New York Times? ‘Katie Britt‚ With Smiles and Menace‚ Delivers G.O.P. Response...'

The Republican rebuttal to President Joe Biden’s State of the Union Address put fear in the hearts of New York Times reporters‚ judging by their hysterical reaction in Saturday’s edition‚ “Tone of Riposte by Rising G.O.P. Star Shifts Between Cheer and Gloom” by Michael Bender and Kayla Guo. The online headline was startling: “Katie Britt‚ With Smiles and Menace‚ Delivers G.O.P. Response to Biden.”  One can imagine a world in which a Republican politician would be accused of sexist for calling‚ say‚ Kamala Harris "menacing." Or is the Times intimidated by an intense woman? “Menace” got changed to “Fierce Glare” in the headline at some point‚ but the menacing tone remained in the story‚ as Bender and Guo seemed averse to any kind of criticism of Biden after his supposed moment of pugilistic partisan glory. With a sunny‚ inviting smile‚ Senator Katie Britt of Alabama welcomed Americans into her kitchen on Thursday night. Many soon backed away nervously. In the Republican Party’s official response to President Biden’s State of the Union address‚ Ms. Britt delivered a jarring speech that toggled between an increasingly strained cheerfulness and a fierce glare as she gave ominous warnings about illegal immigration. Ms. Britt‚ 42‚ has been seen as a rising Republican star and floated as a possible running mate for former President Donald J. Trump. But in the biggest moment of her fledgling political career‚ she delivered a tonally uneven speech that was made more unusual by the setting of her own house in Montgomery‚ Ala.‚ where she sat at her kitchen table and painted a dark picture of an America in decline. “Our commander in chief is not in command‚” Ms. Britt said. “The free world deserves better than a dithering and diminished leader.” At this point‚ we might want to remind Bender &; Guo that their newspaper very much "painted a dark picture of an America in decline" during the Trump years. Their feelings about America depend on which party is in charge. It continued:  Her comments were in line with messages Republicans have increasingly used to criticize Mr. Biden at the start of the election year‚ but her 17-minute speech seemed likely to be remembered more for her disconcerting performance. She spoke in grim detail about a child victim of sex trafficking by drug cartels and the recent killing of a Georgia nursing student in which a Venezuelan migrant has been charged. How else would one talk about a victim of sex trafficking other than with "grim detail"? Previous State of the Union rebuttals have been delivered from behind a lectern in official settings‚ but Ms. Britt chose a domestic backdrop‚ trying to underscore her argument that Mr. Biden represents a threat to prosperity for American families. But the scene seemed to confuse viewers on social media‚ where Ms. Britt was mocked by some for using a dramatic‚ breathy voice to deliver critiques of the president. Biden‚ predictably‚ fared much better among Times reporters: “In-Your-Face Biden Takes on Trump and His Own Doubters.”

Capehart to Biden: Sorry for Saying an 'Illegal'? Are You Overseeing Genocide?

Capehart to Biden: Sorry for Saying an 'Illegal'? Are You Overseeing Genocide?

On Saturday night‚ conservative Twitter pounced on President Biden's interview with Jonathan Capehart for MSNBC. The interview began with Capehart sweetly praising the president for his State of the Union speech‚ except for that one apparently abhorrent moment when he seemed to repeat Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene by describing the suspected killer of college student  Laken Riley in Georgia as an "illegal." Obviously‚ leftists -- including leftist journalists -- were furious over this gaffe. "No person is illegal!" Even murderers deserve ethnically sensitive descriptions! Biden quickly expressed his regrets‚ he should have said "undocumented person." MSNBC doesn't press Biden for letting criminals in. They press him for using the wrong word for the criminal. MSNBC host (PBS pundit) Jonathan Capehart gushes over Biden's speech‚ but presses him on calling Laken Riley's suspected killer an "illegal." Should have said "undocumented person‚" the president says. Media bias is often language policing. pic.twitter.com/UfdDbIARpG — Tim Graham (@TimJGraham) March 9‚ 2024   Some might say this wasn't a softball interview‚ since Capehart was pressing Biden into trying to explain his gaffes. Capehart also asked him about speaking to the Jewish leader of Israel about a "come to Jesus" meeting.  Jonathan Capehart asked Biden about the hot-mic moment where Biden said he told Netanyahu "we're going to have a Come to Jesus meeting." Biden (half-joking?) said "it's an expression used in the "southern part of my state." Like southern Delaware is Dixie? "He knew what I meant!" pic.twitter.com/PhKBFYBF8R — Tim Graham (@TimJGraham) March 9‚ 2024 Most of the Capehart interview during his Saturday Show focused on Israel and its war with Hamas. Capehart turned brutal‚ actually quoting a leader of the radical Council for American-Islamic Relations (CAIR)‚ a group with actual terrorist ties‚ accusing Biden of overseeing a genocide. He cited black columnist Charles Blow of The New York Times‚ but not who it was that Blow was promoting:  Earlier‚ I had put the same question to Dawud Walid‚ the executive director of CAIR’s Michigan chapter‚ who said that for most Muslims‚ anything short of Biden “resurrecting 29‚000 dead Palestinians like Jesus” would mean that they will never vote for him again…. Walid said that in a lesser-of-two-evils debate‚ Trump was‚ in some ways‚ the lesser. As he put it‚ “As bad as Mr. Trump’s rhetoric was‚ and him putting a travel ban on five Muslim countries‚ he wasn’t overseeing and actively arming a genocide.” It’s a view that echoes the sentiment expressed in the headline of an October opinion essay for Al Jazeera by Haidar Eid‚ an associate professor at Al Aqsa University in Gaza: “In dehumanizing the Palestinians‚ Biden had surpassed Trump.” Capehart said CAIR's "Genocide Joe" opinion is "widely shared." Biden didn't agree with that at all‚ and wouldn't agree to cut aid to Israel off. THIS is a hardball! Genocide Joe BS from the CAIR folks (literally). Noting the "Uncommitted" vote‚ Capehart quotes: "As bad as Mr. Trump’s rhetoric was‚ and him putting a travel ban on five Muslim countries‚ he wasn’t overseeing and actively arming a genocide.” Joe pushes back. pic.twitter.com/VDyVsiiLoK — Tim Graham (@TimJGraham) March 9‚ 2024 If we could interview Capehart‚ it would be interesting to ask why he and MSNBC would suggest the pro-Hamas viewpoint is not only respectable‚ but "widely shared"? These people are much more hostile to nonviolent white grandmas from Indiana who strolled around the Capitol on January 6.

Biden apologizes for calling Laken Riley's suspected killer an 'illegal immigrant‚' Trump 'profoundly honored' to meet slain student's family

President Joe Biden apologized for describing the suspected killer of Laken Hope Riley as an "illegal immigrant." Meanwhile‚ former President Donald Trump met the family of the slain nursing student before a rally in Georgia. During his State of the Union address‚ the president was confronted by Rep. Marjorie Taylor-Greene (R-Ga.)‚ who yelled at Biden‚ "Say her name!"The 81-year-old president flubbed Riley's name‚ which angered Laken's mother and she called him "pathetic." Biden said during the SOTU speech‚ "Lincoln — Lincoln Riley‚ an innocent young woman who was killed by an illegal."As Blaze News previously reported‚ several Democrats were incensed that Biden called Riley's suspected killer an "illegal immigrant." This is despite the murder suspect‚ Jose Antonio Ibarra‚ being a Venezuelan nation who crossed into the United States illegally in September 2022. Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) declared‚ "He should have said 'undocumented.'"Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) lectured the president‚ "Let me be clear: No human being is illegal."Biden walked back his "illegal immigrant" remark in an MSNBC interview that aired on Saturday night. MSNBC’s Jonathan Capehart asked Biden about calling the suspected murderer of Riley an illegal immigrant. Biden replied‚ "An undocumented person. And I shouldn’t have used 'illegal.' It’s 'undocumented.'"Capehart asked Biden if he regretted using the illegal immigrant term‚ and he replied‚ "Yes." Biden quickly switched gears by pointing fingers at Trump. Biden said of Trump‚ "He talks about 'vermin.' The way he talks about these people 'polluting the blood.' I talked about what I’m not going to do. What I won’t do‚ I’m not going to treat any of these people with disrespect.""Look‚ they built the country‚" Biden proclaimed. — (@) Prior to a rally in Georgia on Saturday night‚ Trump said he was "profoundly honored to meet with Riley's family and friends backstage. "I met her beautiful mother and family backstage‚" Trump told the crowd at the rally in Rome. "They said she was like the best. She was always the best to us. They admit that she was the best‚ and she was the first in her class. She was going to be the best nurse. She was the best nursing student. She was always the best. She was the brightest light in every room‚ they told me."Trump continued‚ "She was the whole world to her parents and to her sister and just to the whole family."Trump also bashed Biden for apologizing for calling the slain student's alleged killer an illegal immigrant‚ which elicited a chorus of boos from the crowd. "I say he was an illegal alien. He was an illegal immigrant. He was an illegal migrant‚" Trump declared. "And he shouldn't have been in our country‚ and he never would have been under the Trump policies." "And Biden should be apologizing for apologizing to this killer‚" Trump stated. Trump blamed Biden for having "no intention of stopping the deadly invasion that stole precious Laken's American life."Trump said of Democrats refusal to say the term illegal immigrants‚ "They have a new name that's even worse. They have a new name. You know what the new name is? Neighbor. They want to call them neighbor. They want to call them another name – newcomer. A newcomer to our country. Are we going crazy‚ or what?" Like Blaze News? Bypass the censors‚ sign up for our newsletters‚ and get stories like this direct to your inbox. Sign up here! — (@)

Frostbitten Kansas City Chiefs fans required amputations following record-cold playoff game‚ hospital confirms

Some frostbitten Kansas City Chiefs fans required amputations following the record-cold playoff game against the Miami Dolphins in January. Research Medical Center is a 590-bed hospital in Kansas City‚ Missouri‚ that is a "regional destination for specialized‚ complex health care including an emergency room and trauma center."The Research Medical Center informed the Associated Press that it had "treated dozens of people who had experienced frostbite during an 11-day cold snap in January."There were 12 people who needed amputations‚ included in the victims of the dangerous cold streak were fans who attended the Chiefs' wild-card playoff game against the Dolphins on Jan. 13. The hospital noted that most of the weather-related amputations involved fingers and toes. The Research Medical Center said more surgeries are anticipated over the next two to four weeks as "injuries evolve."The University of Kansas hospital said it also treated frostbite victims after the game but didn’t report any amputations.Chiefs fans were permitted to bring heated blankets into the stadium and small pieces of cardboard to place under their feet on the frozen concrete. The temperature for the wild-card playoff game at Arrowhead Stadium was negative four degrees at kickoff and a wind chill of negative 27. It was the coldest game in Chiefs and Dolphins history‚ and the fourth-coldest NFL game ever. The coldest game in NFL history is the 1967 NFL championship game – known as the Ice Bowl. The Green Bay Packers beat the Dallas Cowboys at Lambeau Field when game-time temperatures were minus 14 Fahrenheit and there was a wind chill of minus 48 degrees.According to the National Institutes of Health‚ frostbite can happen when air temperatures fall below 5 degrees Fahrenheit."In wind chills of -16.6 degrees Fahrenheit (-27 degrees Celsius)‚ frostbite can occur on exposed skin within 30 minutes‚" the NIH stated. "Although frostbite can happen anywhere on the body‚ it typically affects exposed areas like the nose‚ ears‚ cheeks‚ chin‚ fingers‚ and toes."The Kansas City Chiefs did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the Associated Press.
