So much of the journalism surrounding Donald Trump since 2015 has been speculation about the dystopian‚ often authoritarian future he will create. This has only gotten worse since he brought his most fervent supporters to Washington on January 6‚ 2021‚ and is now facing 91 felony indictments. If Trump is somehow reelected despite everything the Left has done‚ now they are really imagining a massive mountain of revenge. It’s like the opposite of Willy Wonka’s paradise of imagination: We'll begin with a spin Traveling in the world of my creation What we'll see will defy Explanation On Wednesday night's All In on MSNBC‚ host Chris Hayes brought in Brian Stelter to address the latest Trump outburst on his Truth Social account threatening Comcast and MSNBC for their left-wing propaganda: "our so-called government should come down on hard on them and make them pay for the illegal political activity. Much more to come‚ watch." There's nothing there defining what is "illegal" in all of MSNBC's propagandizing. But it certainly allows MSNBC to feel good about their "defending democracy" credentials. Hayes warned Trump's "whining" could turn into "real punitive action." Hayes and Stelter talked up how the Trump Justice Department sought to block AT&;T's merger with Time Warner in 2017‚ which went through in 2018. The top antitrust official at the time said he never spoke to Trump or his aides about AT&;T‚ but the liberals only believe the Justice staff is independent when Democrats are running it.  You know liberal media outlets are involved when liberals love a merger of mega-corporations. Before long‚ AT&;T dumped Warner's media assets like CNN to Discovery. Trump punished AT&;T for owning CNN in the late 2010s. AT&;T stood up to Trump. Now Trump is threatening Comcast for owning MSNBC. @ChrisLHayes and I analyzed the situation tonight pic.twitter.com/NQUwjBHNdx — Brian Stelter (@brianstelter) November 30‚ 2023 Hayes and Stelter wanted to laugh at Trump's social-media sabre-rattling‚ but they also want to compare this to right-wing governments in Europe: STELTER: I've covered this Comcast for nearly 20 years. I know the executives in philly‚ they don't get rattled by a Truth Social post. [Laughs] They defended NBC for as long as I've owned it. We are seeing this with other media companies‚ and as you said‚ CNN -- Hungary‚ Turkey‚ when the state comes in and takes regulatory action‚ takes legal action‚ uses an IRS‚ a branch of the government to punish a media company‚ and sometimes you take that media company off the playing field. It is a very real thing.  Hayes imagined that a re-elected Trump could harass a media company with IRS probes and other state actions and then suggest to the media company they should sell to a Trump ally like Rupert Murdoch. Stelter maintained his measured panic: "On one level‚ Trump's post is just the weather. Stormy today‚ sunny tomorrow. You will write about someone else tomorrow. On another level‚ a severe thunderstorm warning. It is a warning about what he will do if he regains power." The perfect response to this segment are the segments on Stelter's own show shortly after January 6‚ where he put on guests who explicitly lobbied that "We have to turn down the capability of these conservative influencers to reach these huge audiences" on YouTube‚ and "we're gonna have to figure out the OANN and Newsmax problem‚ that these companies have freedom of speech‚ but I’m not sure we need Verizon‚ AT&;T‚ Comcast‚ and such to be bringing them into tens of millions of homes." Stelter sat placidly through that tornado alert. This wasn't "threatening the free press" with an "authoritarian move." Two weeks later‚ he said Fox News had to be curbed as a "harm reduction" model. How is it curbed without government action? He brought on New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristof‚ who'd written a column advocating Fox News be removed from cable: "advertisers should stop supporting networks that spread lies and hatred‚ and cable companies should drop channels that persist in doing so. As a start‚ don’t force people to subsidize Fox News by including it in basic packages."   So all the dark talk about punishing MSNBC should be placed next to Stelter's (and CNN's) record of wanting to deplatform conservative channels.

The CTI League files released by Michael Schellenberger on Tuesday have revealed more than just the loss of free speech. This is about the loss of free will. Shellenberger has come forward with a trove of documents alleging the creation of a network of more than 100 government agencies and nongovernmental organizations working together to urge censorship by social media platforms and spread propaganda about disfavored individuals‚ topics‚ and whole narratives. That’s what was happening in 2019. So if that’s what they were doing then‚ can you imagine what they are doing now? The better artificial intelligence gets‚ the better you can collate all the information and tie it to specific individuals. You can create anything you want. You can get people to do anything you want. This is about the loss of free will. We’re not talking about the loss of freedom here. This is something that I have been reading about and talking about for 20 years. This is not about your loss of freedom. This is about the loss of your free will — what God gave us as individuals. Those rights are protected. The government is supposed to protect those rights. But all of that is a subset of free will. You can go out. You can investigate. You have an idea. You go‚ and you create your own path. But if Congress continues what this organization is doing‚ we will lose our free will. They can manipulate you without you even knowing it. You’ve seen it before with Google. Now you have the most prominent Western intelligence agencies in the world involved in this. And they’re doing it to each other’s citizens. We’re probably doing it to England. And England is doing it to us. And it shapes you in a way you can’t even record‚ and you will never recognize it. By 2030‚ I guarantee you‚ if this stuff isn’t stopped‚ you will no longer have free will. God gave you free will. Jesus came because we have free will. And we will make the wrong decisions‚ so He offers us salvation. We are talking about the literal schemes of the devil — the schemes of Satan‚ taking away your free will. Be aware. A pair of Palestinian terrorists from East Jerusalem pulled up to a bus stop during rush hour Thursday morning and opened fire on a crowd of civilians. The two murdered three and injured 16 before being put down by a pair of off-duty soldiers and a nearby armed civilian. The shooting came within hours of confirmation from the IDF and Qatari officials that the ceasefire urged by Western leftists between Hamas and Israel had been extended. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated on X‚ "The quick reaction of two fighters and a civilian who eliminated the terrorists prevented an even more serious attack. I salute them." Netanyahu indicated the Israeli government would "continued expanding the distribution of weapons to citizens‚" a measure he suggested "proves itself time and time again in the war against murderous terrorism." National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir‚ who stressed after the Oct. 7 Hamas terror attacks that Israel would work to ease gun laws in hopes of arming "as many citizens as possible‚" said‚ "This event proves again how we must not show weakness‚ that we must speak to Hamas only through the (rifle) scopes‚ only through the war." According to police‚ the terrorists‚ brothers in their 30s from the Zur Baher neighborhood in East Jerusalem‚ pulled up to the bus stop Thursday "armed with an M-16 rifle and a handgun‚" reported Reuters. Three among the injured are reportedly in serious condition‚ and the other victims suffered "various degrees of injuries‚" said police. Surveillance footage of the attack shows the terrorists pull up to the bus stop in an off-white car and rush out of the vehicle with guns raised. They immediately begin firing into a dense crowd. The Israeli civilians begin running for their lives as the terrorists give chase. After apparently exhausting their munitions‚ the terrorists attempt to return to their vehicle — but it's clear from their efforts to duck and weave that the cavalry has arrived. An individual bolts across the street with his gun drawn‚ ostensibly riddling the would-be getaway driver with bullets. Meanwhile‚ off-duty soldiers emerge from the bus stop‚ dispatching the second terrorist. It appears the hero who crossed the street to intervene was nearly mistaken for one of the gunmen‚ but he manages to quickly identify himself. — (@) Benny Gantz‚ a member of the Israeli war Cabinet‚ wrote on X‚ "This attack is further proof of our commitment to continue the fight with strength and determination against the murderous terrorism that threatens our citizens. In Jerusalem‚ Gaza‚ Yosh and everywhere." U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken‚ who was visiting Israel Thursday‚ said the shooting was a reminder "of the threat from terrorism that Israel and Israelis face every single day." The Israeli military indicated that one of its checkpoints in the Jordan Valley area was attacked Thursday morning.
