FOREIGN. The Russian president's explanation for the plane crash that killed Wagner leader Yevgeny Prigozhin and nine other people is that the group was under the influence of drugs and playing with hand grenades on the plane.
The Wagner leader's private jet was on its way to St. Petersburg on August 23 when it exploded in mid-air.
After the accident, suspicions were raised that the Kremlin was involved and was looking for revenge when Prigozhin's forces rebelled and rolled towards Moscow two months earlier.
In his long speech in Sochi on Thursday, President Putin suggested that the explosion on board the plane had been caused by Prigozhin and the others on board who were under the influence of drugs and playing with hand grenades.
At the same time, Putin regretted that no medical analyzes had been carried out on the bodies.
Putin's theory has outraged Russian war bloggers and relatives of Wagner soldiers. In social media it is written, among other things, that Putin is a traitor, according to SVT.
