Is There Wind On The Moon? Or Was There Once Upon A Time?

Back in the day, we simply learned that the Moon has no atmosphere. However, schools, institutions, and museums have correctly started to point out that scientists have measured an extremely thin atmosphere on the Moon. Nothing like Earth's or even Mars's, which is 100 times less dense than our planet's. But it is measurable. So the question "is there wind on the Moon?" might lead to some interesting insights. If we think of wind like what we experience here on Earth, the answer is a resounding no. By human standards, the atmosphere of the Moon is a very good vacuum. It is 10 trillion times less dense than our planet’s own at sea level, or similar to what some satellites experience in low-Earth orbit. So no, no breeze; there might be some motion, but we can’t call this wind.An interesting effect could be the transport of water across the lunar surface. The Moon is dry, but not as dry as it first appears. There is water ice in the permanent shadows of polar craters, but there are water molecules in the soil across its surface. As the long lunar day progresses (14 days of sunlight and 14 days of night), water is released from the soil. This phenomenon is known as sputtering, and is one way that gases escape the soil to create the “exosphere” of the Moon. Micrometeorites, the solar wind, or sunlight bombard the surface, and gases come out. There’s outgassing from radioactive decay too. Most of this will be lost to space, but some can fall back down into the soil. Motion, but still nothing like the wind we experience. It might have been different in the past. The Moon has experienced different volcanic periods, and rocks from the Apollo mission suggest that during one such period, between 3 and 4 billion years ago, the Moon had a thick atmosphere. Well, about one-fiftieth of Earth’s today, but it lasted for a period of 70 million years. That Moon would have had wind for sure, and maybe even liquid water on its surface.Without a magnetic field, it was eroded away. The wind of the Moon is a feature of a distant past. Its water is trapped in the dry jagged soils or at the bottom of craters that have never seen sunlight since they formed.

Toynbee Tiles: What’s With These Plaques About Resurrecting The Dead On Jupiter?

Across the United States and even as far as South America, plaques bearing a strange message can be found embedded in the street. Their message? “Toynbee idea in movie 2001 resurrect dead on planet Jupiter”.Well alright then.Exactly where the tiles came from, who created them, and what their messages mean aren't clear, but some have tried to tackle the mystery. So, what do we know about the Toynbee Tiles? What are the Toynbee Tiles? The peculiar plaques are known as the Toynbee Tiles and the first reports of their arrival on the streets of planet Earth date back to the 1980s. They’re widely considered a kind of guerilla street art, which considering people practice shoefiti isn’t all that strange. What is strange is the cryptic nature of the message they carry. While “Toynbee idea in movie 2001 resurrect dead on planet Jupiter,” is the most common, some also reference Kubrick, as in Stanley, leading to the assumption that the tiles are referencing 2001: A Space Odyssey. If a connection exists between Kubrick’s work and the tiles' namesake, the British historian and philosopher Arnold J Toynbee, it’s not immediately clear, but then isn’t all art up for interpretation?Where have Toynbee Tiles appeared?Toynbee Tiles have been installed in streets across over two dozen states in the US, and several cities in South America where they're thought to be the work of copycats. They have sometimes been embedded in bold locations, slap bang in the middle of a crossing that must have made for a hazardous canvas. However, the unique approach to laying the tiles actually employs the help of passing cars.A Toynbee Tile spotted in New York City.Image credit: Htetrasme via Wikimedia Commons (CC BY-SA 4.0)“First, a message is carved on a piece of flexible, not brittle, linoleum,” explain the makers of Resurrect Dead: The Mystery Of The Toynbee Tiles. “Two pieces of tar paper are used to cover the linoleum like bread covering the filling of a sandwich. The linoleum is also smothered with Elmer's glue and asphalt crack filler. The whole concoction is then laid down in the asphalt of an intersection while concealed by the tar paper.”“The tile is ‘baked’ into the ground by the sun's heat, which liquefies the asphalt ever so slightly. Pressure from car and foot traffic further impress the tile into the ground. By the time the top layer of tar paper is removed, the tile will have become deeply embedded and will be impossible to remove without fully repaving the street.”Who was the Toynbee Tiler? The identity of the Toynbee Tiler remains up for debate, though a reclusive resident in Philadelphia has been the subject of much speculation. To date, the person’s family has maintained that they had nothing to do with it, but the proximity of most of the tiles to Philadelphia would support the idea that the person responsible is local. Filmmaker Jon Foy said that a copy of the film was sent to the alleged tiler, but the film crew didn’t receive a response.A similar mystery got everyone talking back in 2020 when, in an already baffling year, a bunch of monoliths began cropping up – sometimes containing cryptic messages. The mystery was then revived four years later when the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department found another one out in the desert. Like the Toynbee Tiler, the culprit(s) behind the monolith mystery haven’t been confirmed, although people have their theories.

Rock Art Shows Early Humans In South America's Contact With New World's Animals

When people first set foot in the Amazon Basin thousands upon thousands of years ago, they were greeted by countless never-before-seen animal species. Remarkably, a smattering of the early encounters between humans and beasts were documented in the ancient rock art of Colombia. In a new study, researchers report the wealth of animals depicted in the 12,500-year-old rock art of Serrania de la Lindosa in the Colombian Amazon, including a diverse collection of monkeys, fish, birds, and deer. This, they say, shows the earliest-known humans in the region had a deep and intimate knowledge of the wildlife around them, as well as the complex ecosystems they inhabit. “The Indigenous people of Cerro Azul and the surrounding lands hunted and depicted a diverse array of animals from different ecologies – from aquatic fish to arboreal monkeys; terrestrial deer to aerial birds, both nocturnal and diurnal,” Dr Javier Aceituno, study author from Universidad de Antioquia in Colombia, said in a statement. “They had intimate knowledge of the various habitats in the region and possessed the relevant skills to track and hunt animals and harvest plants from each, as part of a broad subsistence strategy,” he explained. The region’s rock art has been known for some time, but archaeologists have struggled to study it due to the treacherous terrain and political unrest. However, following a peace agreement between the Colombian government and the guerrilla group FARC in 2016, the area has become more accessible to researchers. A total of 3,223 images were cataloged in Serrania de la Lindosa, around 58 percent of which were figurative images that depicted forms from the visible world, as opposed to geometric shapes or abstract patterns. Images of potential a) fishing; b, c, e) hunting; d) monkey leaping/transforming sequence; f) and an unknown animal with circular feet and curved head elements.Image credit: University of ExeterSome of the figurative images showed people and plants, but the majority were non-human animals. In total, the researchers identified at least 22 different animals, including deer, birds, peccary, lizards, turtles, tapir, snakes, caimans, and crocodiles. A few fishing scenes were also present, although no fish were explicitly illustrated. Strangely, there were also no depictions of jaguars, the iconic big cats that played a significant role in later civilizations of the Amazon. It’s unclear why this charismatic creature is missing from the artworks, although it may speak to the spiritual significance of jaguars. In an epoch with no strict boundaries between the human world, the animal world, and the supernatural, perhaps it was considered foolish or disrespectful to doodle the image of a ferocious predator.“These rock art sites include the earliest evidence of humans in western Amazonia, dating back 12,500 years ago. As such, the art is an amazing insight into how these first settlers understood their place in the world and how they formed relationships with animals,” added Dr Mark Robinson, Associate Professor of Archaeology at the University of Exeter.“The context demonstrates the complexity of Amazonian relationships with animals, both as a food source but also as revered beings, which had supernatural connections and demanded complex negotiations from ritual specialists,” said Dr Robinson. The new study is published in the Journal of Anthropological Archaeology.

Big Tech appears to censor Trump assassination attempt: ‘Election interference?’

Big Tech search engines appear to be censoring the recent assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, according to reports from multiple users. The New York Post reported Sunday that Google’s “Autocomplete” feature failed to populate results for the deadly July 13 attack. When typing “the assassination attempt of” into the search bar, the autofill did not show results related to Trump, the news outlet stated. Additionally, the Post found that Google did not generate an autogenerated suggestion when typing in “Trump assassination attempt.”Google’s search results still feature articles regarding the shooting. The company stated, “There was no manual action taken. Our systems have protections against Autocomplete predictions associated with political violence, which were working as intended prior to this horrific event.”“We’re working on improvements to ensure our systems are more up to date. Of course, Autocomplete is just a tool to help people save time, and they can still search for anything they want to. Following this terrible act, people turned to Google to find high-quality information – we connected them with helpful results, and will continue to do so,” Google added.Other Big Tech companies also seemed to be censoring the recent assassination attempt on Trump. Similar to Google, Bing’s search engine did not autofill “Trump” when typing in “assassination attempt on.” Instead, it generated results including “president,” “fdr 1933,” “Reagan,” “Ronald Reagan,” and “George Wallace.”Microsoft did not respond to a request for comment from Blaze News by the time of publication.Several posts from X users revealed that Meta AI may also be blocking information about the recent attack.Libs of TikTok wrote on Sunday afternoon, “Meta AI won’t give any details on the attempted ass*ss*nation. We’re witnessing the suppression and coverup of one of the biggest most consequential stories in real time. Simply unreal.” — (@) By Monday morning, it appeared that Meta AI had corrected the issue, Blaze News confirmed. When asked, “Can you give me details on the assassination attempt on Donald Trump?” the platform populated a paragraph detailing the events of the rally on July 13, which resulted in Trump being shot in the ear and the murder of one attendee.Meta did not respond to a request for comment from Blaze News by the time of publication.Anything else?Donald Trump Jr. took to X to blast Google for apparently hiding the attack from its Autocomplete feature.“Big Tech is trying to interfere in the election AGAIN to help Kamala Harris. We all know this is intentional election interference from Google. Truly despicable,” Trump Jr. wrote. — (@) Elon Musk, who recently endorsed Trump for president, also commented on the situation.“Wow, Google has a search ban on President Donald Trump! Election interference?” Musk wrote.“They’re getting themselves into a lot of trouble if they interfere with the election,” he wrote in a separate post.Musk also shared a social media post questioning Google’s claim that it suppresses “predictions associated with political violence.” The post showed many autofill results referring to the assassination attempt on former Presidents Ronald Reagan, Harry Truman, Gerald Ford, Andrew Johnson, and Franklin D. Roosevelt. — (@) Like Blaze News? Bypass the censors, sign up for our newsletters, and get stories like this direct to your inbox. Sign up here!

Interrogated, abused & tortured J6 prisoner released just 5 days ago tells his harrowing story of jail time: 'Like a scene out of a movie'

If you haven’t heard the name John Strand, here is a brief recap of his story: Strand attended the Capitol on January 6 as the friend and bodyguard of Dr. Simone Gold, who was scheduled — and legally permitted — to speak on Capitol grounds that day. However, when the Oathkeepers and Strand escorted Dr. Gold to her speaking location, the chaos at the Capitol had already begun. While Strand and Gold were uninvolved in the breaching of the Capitol building and never once participated in violence, they made the mistake of entering the building along with the crowd. They entered and departed peacefully like so many thousands of others, but this was enough to land both of them in hot water with the DOJ. Both Stand and Gold were some of the first to be arrested and charged with four misdemeanors as well as the 1512 felony. While Gold took a plea deal, involving 60 days in prison, Strand, outraged by the obvious injustice, fought the charges. For his resistance, he was convicted on all charges and sentenced to 32 months in prison. However, now that 1512 has been overturned by SCOTUS, Strand has been freed. Just days out of prison, he joins Jill Savage and the “Blaze News Tonight” panel to recount his grueling experience behind bars. "I was in HELL" - J6 Prisoner Gives FIRST Interview Post-Release www.youtube.com For Strand, jail was “a very painful, miserable place.” “God did a lot of great things, but it was terrible,” he tells Jill. “My time in prison was actually split between two facilities — the first half in Miami, where I was actually viciously abused in an isolation environment for about four straight months, which was essentially like being waterboarded, and when I was released from there and transferred to another location, where it was a little less oppressive, it felt like I was trying to breathe the oxygen of freedom through a straw from underneath the swamp,” he recounts. “You were being held in solitary confinement, which is essentially torture,” says investigative journalist and Blaze Media correspondent Steve Baker, adding that when Dr. Gold tried to sound the alarm on Strand’s abusive treatment, “There was a problem getting this message out” because “they tend to punish you more.” “That’s exactly what happened to me,” Strand confirms. “They fabricated a whole series of ridiculous circumstances to put me in isolation for a couple of weeks basically to say, ‘Watch out, we'll crush you if you look sideways.”’ “They pulled me out for a couple days and then a story that I had nothing to do with went viral on media. Congressman Marjorie Taylor Greene reported on me being tortured and abused, and they put me in this interrogation room and grilled me about this, like I had something to do with it — like a scene out of a movie. And then they threw me back in, and I wasn't seen again for three and a half months.” “How did you mentally make it through that time?” asks Jill. To hear Strand’s answer, watch the clip above.
