New York City Mayor Eric Adams announced massive budget cuts for the Big Apple with far-reaching cuts to the NYPD force‚ education‚ and libraries. City officials say the deep budget cuts stem from the current migrant crisis‚ and warn there could be future financial restraints if the illegal immigrant situation continues. Effective immediately‚ the New York Police Department must freeze all hiring and reduce the number of law enforcement officers from more than 33‚000 to 30‚000. The last time New York City had fewer than 30‚000 officers was in 1984‚ according to the Independent Budget Office.Patrick Hendry – NYC’s police union president – warned that the budget cuts would hamper the police department's ability to keep New Yorkers safe. “This is truly a disaster for every New Yorker who cares about safe streets‚” Hendry said. “Cops are already stretched to our breaking point‚ and these cuts will return us to staffing levels we haven’t seen since the crime epidemic of the ’80s and ’90s. We cannot go back there.”While he was a mayoral candidate‚ Adams made campaign promises to beef up the police force and railed against the "Defund the Police" movement. The New York Fire Department will have overtime limited. Any civilian and light-duty firefighter vacancies will be eliminated. The budget cuts will slash the budget of the New York City Education Department by more than $1 billion – $547 million will be cut this fiscal year and another $600 million in 2025‚ according to Fox 5 New York. The outlet added‚ "There will be expansive 5% budget cuts at every city agency‚ which are expected to happen again two more times next year."The city’s Summer Rising program – which provides children with recreational activities during the summer months – will be forced to reduce hours for middle school students. The New York Times reported that the city is "eliminating thousands of spots for universal prekindergarten for 3-year-olds" and " community schools are being cut by $10 million in the current fiscal year."Michael Mulgrew – president of the United Federation of Teachers – noted that the budget restraints would cause 653 schools to make midyear budget cuts — approximately 43% of the school system.Mulgrew declared‚ "Class sizes will rise‚ and school communities will be needlessly damaged."The NYC school system has already been stressed due to the migrant crisis after an additional 8‚000 students enrolled in the city's public school system this year – the first enrollment increase in eight years. Starting in December‚ public libraries will close branches on Sundays because of the budget cuts. NYC library leaders stated‚ "We also will be reducing spending on library materials‚ programming‚ and building maintenance and repairs. The threat of a lawsuit comes after several major companies pulled out of advertising on Musk's social media network. Media Matters has a long history of putting pressure on companies that advertise on conservative networks or with right-wing personalities. Media Matters published an article on Friday alleging that advertisements on the X platform were presented with content that the progressive outlet deemed to be anti-Semitic‚ white nationalist‚ anti-LGBTQ‚ and neo-Nazi. By Saturday‚ several prominent companies had reportedly ceased advertising on X – including IBM‚ Lionsgate‚ Paramount‚ Warner Bros.‚ Discovery‚ Comcast‚ NBCUniversal‚ Apple‚ and Disney.Musk included a screenshot of a press release from X that claimed Media Matters "completely misrepresented the real user experience on X‚ in another attempt to undermine freedom of speech and mislead advertisers."The news release said the social media company had experienced a "number of attacks from activist groups like Media Matters and legacy media outlets who seek to undermine freedom of expression on our platform because they perceive it as a threat to their ideological narrative and those of their financial supporters."The company formerly known as Twitter alleged that these groups "try to use their influence to attack our revenue streams by deceiving advertisers on X."The social media company alleged:Once they curated their feed‚ they repeatedly refreshed their timelines to find a rare instance of ads serving next to the content they chose to follow. Our logs indicate that they forced a scenario resulting in 13 times the number of ads served compared to the median ads served to an X user. Of the 5.5 billion ad impressions on X that day‚ less than 50 total ad impressions were served against all of the organic content featured in the Media Matters article. For one brand showcased in the article‚ one of its ads ran adjacent to a post 2 times and that ad was seen in that setting by only two users‚ one of which was the author of the Media Matters article.The statement added that "X will protect the public’s right to free expression" and "will not allow agenda-driven activists‚ or even our own profits‚ to deter our vision."X CEO Linda Yaccarino said in August that brands are "protected from the risk of being next to” potentially disturbing content. She added that the company's content control would reduce risks for advertisers. Yaccarino said on Friday‚ "We will continue to protect the freedom of voices and opinions of users on X! It is now crystal clear that Secretary of State Antony Blinken is exploiting the Iranian-backed Hamas war to destroy the existing state of Israel through the use of threats‚ blackmail‚ leaks‚ the media‚ diplomatic backstabbing‚ the Arab states‚ the European Union‚ and the United Nations. In a State Department memo dated Monday‚ November 13‚ Blinken explained America’s posture toward the Arabs in Gaza. It’s madness. He wrote: As I said in private and in public‚ we believe Palestinian people's voices and aspirations must be at the center of post-crisis governance in Gaza. We believe in Palestinian-led governance of Gaza‚ with Gaza unified with the West Bank. Gaza's reconstruction must be supported with a sustained mechanism. We also underscored America's firm opposition to actions that would undermine efforts to build lasting peace and security. No forcible displacement of Palestinian civilians from Gaza - not now‚ not after the fighting stops. No reoccupation of Gaza after the conflict. No attempt to blockade or besiege Gaza. No reduction in the territory of Gaza. No use of Gaza as a platform for terrorism or other violent attacks‚ and no tolerating the use of the West Bank to carry out such attacks. No more violence from extremist settlers in the West Bank. These steps are not ends in themselves. They must lead to Israelis and Palestinians living side by side in states of their own‚ with equal measures of security‚ freedom‚ opportunity‚ and dignity. That’s not something we can put off discussing until after this crisis is over. This discussion must happen now. This also explains the current pressure campaign by leftists in Israel to try to topple the Netanyahu-led conservative government and replace it with radical left-wing parties that will deliver Israel to the effective control of the U.S. State Department‚ where Blinken‚ a mere appointed Cabinet secretary‚ will determine Israel's fate. Israel will not survive the Blinken plan — certainly not for long. This has been the plan for Israel since Barack Obama was president‚ when Blinken was deputy secretary of state. Senator John McCain (R-Ariz.) was 100% right when he went to the Senate floor to excoriate Blinken and refused to support his confirmation. Blinken‚ the Biden whisperer‚ is behind pouring $100 billion into rearming Iran‚ Hezbollah‚ Hamas‚ and the Houthis in Yemen. Blinken set the Middle East on fire immediately upon taking office nearly three years ago. He has lifted or refused to enforce virtually every sanction on Iran. Blinken destroyed the popular uprising against the ayatollahs‚ when the Iranians sought to remove their murderous regime‚ by backing Tehran over its people. Worse‚ Blinken chose Robert Malley‚ a Marxist supporter of Iran‚ as the U.S. envoy to negotiate another nuclear deal. And what did Malley do? He installed a high-level Iranian spy ring in D.C. and undermined our nation (and Israel) at every turn. The Obama-Biden-Blinken “realignment” is well under way‚ and the consequences are dire for Israel and the United States — and indeed for the entire Middle East and the world. It is a hideous and diabolical plan‚ being instituted right now without any transparency‚ involvement from Congress‚ or the knowledge and consent of the American people. It is the brainchild of a small cabal of rogue‚ radical left-wing foreign policy arsonists who could easily trigger World War III. The question is: How long will this go on before Blinken is stopped? Where are the House Republican committee chairmen? Where are the Senate Republicans? Where are conservative think tanks? Where are the conservative media? (This publication excepted‚ of course.) I understand that the left-wing corporate media and the Democratic Party are worse than useless. In fact‚ they are propagandists for this administration’s malign policies‚ from Thomas Friedman at the New York Times to Jamie Raskin in the House of Representatives. But if there is not an organized pushback immediately‚ a relentless and public demand for accountability and transparency‚ and an immediate impeachment inquiry directed at Blinken (successful or not)‚ then evil will prevail. Never forget all the disasters the Biden whisperer has unleashed in a mere three years running American foreign policy and the death‚ inhumanity‚ and impoverishment he has imposed on one region and society after another.
