Rabid leftists fired from coffee shop after blocking Jewish customer from entering restroom to document anti-Semitic graffiti

A trio of rabid leftist employees have been fired from an Oakland coffee shop after they were caught on video blocking a Jewish customer from entering a restroom so she could document anti-Semitic graffiti. What's the background? Cellphone video shows the trio of Farley's East employees — two masked females and one unmasked male — blocking the woman from entering the restroom. The male is heard telling the woman she already got her food and that she's "holding up s**t." One of the females tells the customer that "this is private property" and tells her to leave the coffee shop. "I want to go into the restroom‚" the woman says repeatedly. The male employee remarks‚ "I know Israel loves taking private property and saying it's their own …" A female employee accuses the customer of "misgendering" — though the context of the accusation isn't clear. The customer says it's her right to enter the restroom‚ to which the male employee replies‚ "And we have a right to refuse service." The employees blocking the customer also tell the determined woman she can use the coffee shop's other restroom — just not the one they're blocking. The customer digs in her heels and refuses to leave — and then challenges the employees‚ saying that if they "agree" with the graffiti in the restroom‚ they shouldn't be afraid of her documenting it. With that‚ she's allowed to enter the restroom‚ where she records video showing the graffiti. One message read‚ "Zionism = fascism": Image source: X video screenshot via @stillgray The other graffiti read‚ “Your neutrality ... is enabling genocide”: Image source: X video screenshot via @stillgray The male employee is heard telling the woman‚ "History didn't start in 1948‚ lady‚" while another tells her‚ "Free Palestine‚" as she departs. Content warning: Language: — (@) Initial apology draws angry responses Farley's East apologized on its Facebook page last week — a post that has since been taken down. While the apology note indicated the shop has "taken corrective measures with our staff and removed the offensive graffiti" and that "we're not anti-Semitic‚" a deluge of angry comments poured in — as of Friday afternoon‚ the apology post had drawn nearly 6‚000 comments and nearly 3‚000 angry emojis. Conservative commentator Jason Rantz told Farley's East‚ "This is a pathetic apology. No comment about the antisemitic staff?" Fired Farley's East posted a new Facebook statement Saturday saying the three employees caught on video had been fired. "Events like these strike fear in the Jewish community and perpetuate the rise of anti-Semitism in our community and around the world. We do not tolerate any behavior at Farley’s that makes people feel unwelcome or unsafe‚" the statement read‚ in part‚ adding that "though all employees are entitled to hold differing viewpoints‚ they are not entitled to express themselves on the job in ways that are disrespectful and hurtful to anyone." Here’s how Apple could simplify its overcomplicated iPad lineup in 2024

Here’s how Apple could simplify its overcomplicated iPad lineup in 2024

With no iPad announcement in 2023‚ next year is set to become the year of Apple's tablets as the company is rumored to introduce several new models. In his latest Power On newsletter‚ Bloomberg's Mark Gurman says how Apple is working on cleaning up its confusing lineup. The issue Basically‚ the journalist talks about how Apple was crystal clear about its iPads in the early days by offering "a big one and a little one. And the previous year's version was sold at a discount." But as the years went by‚ the company added more options by selling two Pro model sizes‚ one Air version‚ two entry-level iPads‚ and a mini iteration. It gets more complicated when you think there are three different Apple Pencils users can choose from – but none of them works with all tablets – and a few folio/magic keyboard accessories. That said‚ the journalist believes Apple will have its "Mac moment" with the iPad and simplify everything – although I disagree that choosing a new Mac is that simple‚ as there's a blurred line between the different models. The solution According to Gurman‚ everything will look better once Apple introduces the next batch of iPads starting early next year‚ as Cupertino will clarify what's Pro‚ what's Air‚ and what's entry-level. Here's what's going to happen: Pro: 11-inch and 13-inch options. M3 processor. OLED with ProMotion. Face ID. Exclusive Magic Keyboard with aluminum finish. Possibly exclusive Apple Pencil 3. Higher prices. Air: 10.9-inch and 12.9-inch options – the larger model is new. M2 processor. LCD with 60Hz. Touch ID on the side button. Old Magic Keyboard. Apple Pencil 2 and USB-C Apple Pencil support. Fun colors. Entry-level: 10.9-inch display. New processor (possibly the A15 Bionic). LCD with 60Hz but no anti-reflective coating. Touch ID. Magic Keyboard Folio. USB-C Apple Pencil support. Fun colors. Mini: 8.7-inch display. New processor (possibly the A16 Bionic). LCD with 60Hz. Touch ID. Apple Pencil 2 and USB-C Apple Pencil support. Fun colors. Although there are a few other differences between these iPads regarding colors‚ battery life‚ and cameras‚ this is pretty much Apple's 2024 iPad lineup. While Cupertino is rumored to discontinue the iPad 9‚ which is cheaper than the tenth generation‚ and possibly making the Pro models more expensive‚ I still think the lineup is pretty confusing – and I blame the iPad Air. Apple should discontinue the iPad Air iPad models available in 2022 If you think about it‚ Apple should discontinue the iPad Air and boost the entry-level model. There are little differences between the A15/16 Bionic and the M1 or M2 chips. But as the company is rumored to add more Air models‚ it's going to be harder for the customer to choose a tablet‚ as they will get similar (but not the same) features as the Pro models but still pay a lot of money. With a boosted entry-level model‚ Apple could still profit from educational and casual users and draw a clear line between what's Pro and what's not. The mini model‚ on the other hand‚ could stay as it is: an option for Kindle-like users who want a smaller tablet for convenient usage. That said‚ I believe the iPad Air makes Apple's tablet lineup confusing. Although there would be a huge price gap between a $400 to a $800 tablet‚ Apple could offer between this price range more storage or a few other improved specs‚ such as a Mac mini that has the M2 but also the M2 Pro options. I can't wait for the iPad Pro‚ as this is one of the Apple products I'm looking forward to the most in 2024. But if you want an iPad‚ choose the tenth generation – or the upcoming eleventh generation. The Air is not worth it. Black Eyed Pea Salad

This Black Eyed Pea Salad is such a light but flavorful salad. Creamy black eyed peas and fresh veggies all tossed in a refreshing homemade vinaigrette! GOOD LUCK ON NEW YEARS DAY Wondering what to make for your New Year’s Day celebration? This Black Eyed Pea Salad is just the thing! If you aren’t from the South‚ maybe you don’t know this‚ but Black Eyed Peas are said to bring you good luck for the year when you eat them on New Years Day. So this pea salad or my Southern Black Eyed Peas dish are the perfect thing to add to your spread on January 1st! Plus‚ this easy salad is great to enjoy as a side dish‚ or make a whole meal out of it. Best of all‚ it’s easy enough to make all year long (it makes a fantastic summer salad!) FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ’S): How long do I have to let this sit? The longer this sits‚ the better it gets. I highly recommend letting it sit overnight‚ but 4 hours is the minimum.  Do I have to use apple cider vinegar? You can use balsamic‚ red wine vinegar or seasoned rice wine the in place of the apple cider vinegar. I suppose you could use regular white vinegar but I think you’d be sacrificing some of the taste/ What else can I add to this Black Eyed Pea Salad? To bulk up this dish even more‚ trying adding some more veggies or more beans. Other veggies that would be good: cucumber‚ corn‚ or carrots. This would also be good with black beans or garbanzo beans. Can I use dry beans? Yes‚ you can‚ but you need to soak them overnight first and then cook them before using them in this salad recipe. How to store this salad? Any leftover salad should be transferred to an airtight container and should be refrigerated for up to 5 days. I don’t recommend trying to freeze this salad. INGREDIENTS NEEDED: (SEE RECIPE CARD BELOW FOR THE FULL RECIPE) black-eyed peas – see my FAQ’s above on using dry beans. grape tomatoes – cherry tomatoes work great as well or just buy a large beefsteak tomato and dice it up. red and green bell pepper – if you don’t like green pepper‚ try using a yellow pepper instead. This gives taste as well as great color. celery – these veggies are all optional depending on what you enjoy. If you don’t like celery‚ leave it out. green onions – I wanted to keep the onion taste pretty light which is why I use green on and shallot instead of a white or red onion. This also gives it some color. shallot – if you’ve never purchased a shallot before‚ they can be found near the garlic in the produce section. I absolutely love shallots because it provides a very light onion flavor but also tastes a bit like garlic too so you get more bang for your buck! olive oil – I usually use an extra virgin olive oil but if you don’t like a strong g olive oil flavor‚ try using the light tasting olive oil. apple cider vinegar – see my FAQ’s above about the different types of vinegar that will work here. garlic – please use fresh garlic here‚ not the jarred stuff. You will be sacrificing so much flavor by not using fresh. I promise it’s worth it! Dijon mustard – if you don’t like dijon mustard‚ you can use yellow mustard. Although‚ that will give it a stronger vinegar taste. HOW TO MAKE BLACK EYED PEA SALAD Add the black-eyed peas‚ tomatoes‚ red bell pepper‚ green bell pepper‚ celery‚ green onions‚ and shallot to a large bowl and set aside. In a small bowl‚ whisk together the olive oil‚ apple cider vinegar‚ garlic‚ dijon mustard‚ salt‚ and pepper. Pour the dressing over the salad ingredients. Gently stir to combine. Cover with plastic wrap and place in the fridge for at least 4 hours‚ or overnight is best. Stir well again before serving. CRAVING MORE RECIPES?
