'Just plain scary': Adult male demands girl‚ 14‚ send him nude pics‚ threatens to rape her‚ kill her and her family‚ cops say

An adult male demanded that a 14-year-old girl send him nude photos and threatened to rape and kill her — and kill her family — if she didn't‚ Florida authorities said. What are the details?David McGinness‚ 20‚ began talking to a 14-year-old girl on Snapchat after viewing a photograph the girl posted publicly‚ the Brevard County Sheriff's Office said.Once learning his age‚ the girl stopped replying to McGinness — but a few months later McGinness re-engaged the victim‚ demanding nude photographs‚ the sheriff's office said. When the victim refused‚ McGinness "began to make absolutely vile threats to rape and kill the victim and the victim’s family members‚" Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey said."McGinness went as far as to tell the victim he knew where they lived and would be there within an hour if the victim didn’t comply‚" Ivey noted‚ adding that McGinness "demonstrated that he actually knew the victim’s address because the victim’s location services were turned on for the 'Snap Map' allowing [him] to see where the victim was."Ivey said the girl told her parents what going on and that McGinness was arrested Thursday after Agent Stanton Wimer from the agency's Special Victims Unit "obtained an arrest warrant for his sorry carcass for electronic threats to kill‚ extortion‚ lewd or lascivious conduct‚ and computer solicitation of a child."The sheriff added that "McGinness is now safely behind bars in Indian River County where he was arrested on our warrant even though he pinky promised he wasn’t going to actually hurt anyone."Ivey added that McGinness' total bond is $76‚000 and that he "will soon find his way to 'Ivey’s Iron Bar Lodge' where I’m sure he will encounter a whole different kind of social media interaction with his new cellmates and friends."'Just plain scary'The sheriff called the whole thing "just plain scary" and cautioned parents to monitor their children's Internet use."I always tell parents that there is no better time than right now to talk with their children about Internet and social media safety‚" Ivey said in the news release."As parents‚ we want to allow our children to enjoy life‚ but we also want to do everything possible to keep them safe — so if you allow your children to use social media or things connected to the internet‚ please routinely check all of the parental controls‚ privacy settings‚ and [take] any other measures possible to make sure that people like McGinness can’t get to them!" he said.Ivey added to parents that they should "always remember monitoring everything they do is not an invasion of their privacy‚ it’s just simply keeping them safe!"Like Blaze News? CVS shutters DC location after teen thieves routinely empty shelves

A CVS store in Washington‚ D.C.‚ will close down at the end of February‚ likely due to the area's surging theft epidemic‚ Fox Business reported Tuesday. The store‚ located in Northwest D.C.‚ has been the target of teen shoplifting rings for several months. A group of roughly 45 thieves have routinely ransacked the store‚ leaving most of its shelves bare. While the CVS location is staffed with an armed security guard‚ the guard's primary responsibility is to ensure the safety of the store's customers and staff‚ not to chase down shoplifters‚ WTOP reported.A CVS spokesperson told the news outlet‚ "Maintaining access to pharmacy services in the communities we serve is an important factor we consider when making store closure decisions.""Other factors include local market dynamics‚ population shifts‚ a community's store density‚ and ensuring there are other geographic access points to meet the needs of the community‚" she added. While the spokesperson would not confirm whether the store was shuttering due to the rampant theft‚ CVS told WTOP in October that it was working with local law enforcement to "identify and dismantle several major shoplifting rings.""In addition‚ we're supporting new initiatives to combat retail theft in partnership with the D.C. Attorney General's Office‚" CVS said. At the time‚ the company reported that it had no plans to close any of its D.C. locations. In October‚ videos shared on social media showed aisle after aisle of bare shelves after a group of teens stole most of the store's items. Employees stated that a large group of teenagers frequently come to the location before and after school and late at night to steal snacks and drinks. They also reported that the teen theft ring knows when new shipments are scheduled to arrive and coordinates the best time to target the location.According to WTTG‚ street vendors just steps away from the CVS sell items similar to those that once filled the store's shelves. Some have speculated that the street vendors are paying teens to steal from the location."It's pathetic. It's very sad to see the behavior of our next generation to be destroying properties‚ putting people out of jobs. I think it's ridiculous‚" one resident told WTTG.Another shopper told WTOP that the store is "the emptiest CVS I have ever seen.""You basically have to go to another CVS to get what you want‚" she said. "It's almost empty."The Columbia Heights CVS store is scheduled to close its doors on February 29.Like Blaze News? MSNBC’s O’Donnell claims Trump had a 'very bad night' in New Hampshire despite his decisive victory

MSNBC’s O’Donnell claims Trump had a 'very bad night' in New Hampshire despite his decisive victory

Voters turned out in record numbers Tuesday to cast ballots in New Hampshire's Republican primary. Nikki Haley initially appeared confident. After all‚ she had endorsements from Republican Govs. Chris Sununu (N.H.) and Asa Hutchinson (Ark.); the backing of at least one top Democratic donor; an apparent army of non-Republicans ready to vote for her; and positive media coverage. Former President Donald Trump handily beat her by double digits. MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell‚ who has evidenced some trouble distinguishing between fact and fiction‚ painted Trump's receipt of 54.6% of the vote and 12 delegates as a bad omen for the Republican candidate‚ claiming he had a "very bad night." O'Donnell's launched into an apples-to-oranges comparison with the intention to cast Trump's win as a prelude to a November loss. "One of the relevant frames to use in looking at what Trump achieved and what he did not achieve is what Joe Biden achieved‚" said the liberal talking head. "Someone else came in second tonight." The second runner-up O'Donnell was referring to was Democratic challenger Rep. Dean Phillips (Minn.)‚ who took 19.7% of the vote in the New Hampshire Democratic primary — more or less what an American Research Group poll indicated earlier this month he would receive. Biden‚ who failed to register in the state‚ alternatively received 67.5% of the vote. "So Dean Phillips got completely crushed‚ didn't come close to the threshold‚" said O'Donnell. "So Joe Biden demonstrates this enormous strength in New Hampshire tonight." "Then you have Trump showing much greater weakness against a credible challenger‚" continued the MSNBC host‚ who apparently missed both the CNN exit poll indicating roughly 70% of Haley supporters were not registered Republicans and the Iowa Republican primary results. "It depends on how you want to look at Trump. He wants to be called president in court and everywhere‚ so let's call him president just for this moment." "When a president is on the ballot in the New Hampshire primary‚ you are supposed to win everything. You are not supposed to face a serious challenger. And when you do‚ you lose‚" said O'Donnell. "There is no president who faced a serious challenge in the New Hampshire primary who then won in November." "So this is a very bad night for Donald Trump‚ looking at the pattern of presidents in the New Hampshire primary situations who face very serious challenges‚" concluded O'Donnell. While Trump did not live up to the MSNBC host's expectations‚ he is nevertheless leading Biden in the latest polls by several points — by five points according to Morning Consult; by six points according to Harvard CAPS/ Harris; and by four points according to the Messenger/HarrisX poll. While Haley's non-Republican supporters may have skewed the New Hampshire primary results to suggest a closer race than first indicated in Iowa‚ recent polls of registered Republicans put Trump over 60 points ahead of the former U.N. ambassador. A Harvard-Harris poll recently asked GOP voters who would they vote for if the 2024 election was held today. Over 71% said Trump and 9% said Haley. Like Blaze News? Connecticut mayor embroiled in alleged voter fraud scandal wins primary — after he already won the general election

The incumbent mayor of Bridgeport‚ Connecticut‚ has now declared victory for the third time this election cycle after strong allegations of voter fraud leveled against his campaign forced a primary election do-over even though the mayor had already won the general election. On Tuesday‚ residents of Bridgeport‚ the state's largest city‚ headed to the polls for the third time in four months to elect a mayor. With 99% of precincts reporting‚ incumbent Mayor Joe Ganim defeated challenger John Gomes by about 1‚000 votes‚ 4‚948 to 3‚901‚ though those numbers are not yet official. This vote‚ held in late January‚ more than two months after the general election on November 7‚ was actually a primary election for the Democrat nominee for Bridgeport mayor. And it was actually the second primary election held this election cycle. If it sounds confusing‚ that's because it is.In the first Democrat primary election‚ held on September 12‚ Gomes appeared on the cusp of unseating Ganim. In the initial hours after returns came in‚ Gomes held a steady lead. However‚ once absentee ballots were counted‚ Ganim edged out Gomes for the Democrat nomination by just 251 votes total.Within days‚ the Gomes camp cried foul‚ releasing damning surveillance video footage from City Hall that appeared to show Wanda Geter-Pataky‚ a city employee and a long-standing supporter of Mayor Ganim‚ stuffing ballot boxes with stacks of absentee ballots. The evidence of voter fraud was so compelling that on October 25‚ about two weeks before the general election‚ Judge William Clark overturned the results of the primary election between Ganim and Gomes."The volume of ballots so mishandled is such that it calls the result of the primary election in serious doubt and leaves the court unable to determine the legitimate result of the primary‚" Clark wrote in his decision.Clark ordered attorneys for the two campaigns to coordinate with local officials to arrange another primary election. Meanwhile‚ the general election went on as scheduled with Ganim listed as the Democrat nominee and Gomes listed as an independent candidate. Ganim won that election‚ but since his position as the Democrat nominee was still in doubt‚ local authorities held yet another Democrat primary election this week. Once again‚ Ganim prevailed."Obviously this isn’t my first time‚ but it is‚ again‚ humbling for me to know that thousands and thousands of voters‚ of people in the city of Bridgeport‚ trudged through the weather today‚ overcame voter fatigue‚ and made a strong statement of voting and voting for us to continue the progress in the city of Bridgeport‚" he told a crowd of supporters. "I want to celebrate this victory for our city. I want to celebrate this victory for our party and for everyone who remains committed to improving the quality of life for the people that we serve in this great city."Though a second general election has been tentatively scheduled for next month‚ Ganim's latest victory may have made that election unnecessary. As of early Wednesday morning‚ Gomes had not conceded the race or made any decisions regarding that additional general election‚ the AP reported."We have challenged the status quo and nothing will be the same‚" Gomes said. "What we’ve done is build an army that’s stronger than ever and we are coming."Mayor Ganim seems to be the Teflon Don of Bridgeport politics. He was first elected to city mayor more than 30 years ago in 1991‚ when he was in his early 30s. However‚ 12 years later‚ he resigned after he was convicted of several crimes related to political corruption. He spent seven years behind bars‚ but after he was released‚ he ran for the mayoral office once again in 2015 — and won. He then won re-election in 2019 and apparently once again in 2023.Geter-Pataky and another member of the Ganim team‚ Eneida Martinez‚ may face criminal prosecution at some point in connection with the alleged fraud in the primary election last September. That would hardly be a first for Geter-Pataky. She already likely faces criminal charges for alleged voter fraud in connection with the 2019 Bridgeport mayoral primary race — a race that Ganim barely won after a significant absentee ballot dump late in the evening pushed him over the top.Like Blaze News? Caitlin Clark’s collision controversy

Iowa Hawkeyes basketball superstar Caitlin Clark often makes headlines for breaking records on the court. However‚ the current buzz surrounding the athlete involves a controversial incident that took place after Iowa’s disappointing loss to Ohio State. Jason Whitlock plays the clip of Clark being knocked down by an Ohio State fan who was storming the court following the match. Many have accused Clark of “flopping” or theatricalizing her fall. “It all depends on which angle you look at it from‚” says Jason‚ who admits that Caitlin Clark is “perhaps [his] favorite athlete right now.” From one angle‚ it appears the fan “knocks Caitlin over‚” but from a different angle‚ it looks like Clark does “a LeGron James-level flop‚” he tells Steve Kim. “I think Caitlin has to do a little bit more shoulder press‚” says Steve‚ claiming the athlete is “dainty." “It's a flop‚ and Caitlin initiated it‚” concludes Jason. Regardless of Clark’s theatrics‚ however‚ he still thinks she “has college basketball – the entire sport – on her back the same way that Tiger Woods had the PGA Tour on his back.” “Caitlin Clark is the most relevant‚ popular‚ interesting‚ fascinating college athlete since Tim Tebow‚” says Jason. Watch the clip below‚ and decide for yourself if Caitlin is the victim or the culprit. Buffalo Bills kicker deletes social media over threats after missing game-tying field goal in playoffs

Buffalo Bills kicker Tyler Bass reportedly deleted his social media accounts after he was alleged to have received online threats for missing a game-tying field goal against the Kansas City Chiefs.Bass' X and Instagram accounts were nowhere to be found following the divisional playoff game during which the NFL kicker missed a field goal wide right‚ while his team was losing 27-24 at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park‚ New York.Bass reportedly deleted his accounts‚ NBC News reported‚ after the player received threatening remarks for missing the kick. The alleged abuse prompted a local cat adoption group to raise money on behalf of Bass‚ coming to his defense in a Facebook post."WE STAND WITH TYLER BASS. DON’T BULLY OUR FRIEND[.] We just heard the terrible news that Tyler Bass is receiving threats after yesterday’s game and our phones are ringing off the hook from people who want to donate $22 to Ten Lives Club in Tyler’s name‚" the Ten Lives Club reportedly wrote on Facebook."Tyler doesn’t deserve any of the hate he’s receiving. He’s an excellent football player and an even better person who took the time to help our organization and rescue cats last year. Leave our friend alone‚" the group added.Sports writer Joe Pompliano noted that the group soon raised a record-setting amount in the 48 hours following the field goal attempt."After missing a game-tying kick on Sunday‚ Bills kicker Tyler Bass deactivated his social media accounts. But fans have responded by donating over $100‚000 to Ten Lives Club — a cat adoption center near Buffalo. It's the most money they've ever raised in a 48-hour period‚" Pompliano wrote on X. The Bills lost that game 20-19.That missed kick was further immortalized in the Jim Carrey comedy "Ace Ventura." While the storyline was focused on a fictional Miami Dolphins kicker (while using the likeness of a real player)‚ the plot was based on the missed Norwood field goal and even referred to as the "kick heard 'round the world" in the film. The Bills went on to lose the next three Super Bowls‚ marking an infamous four straight Super Bowl losses that no team has replicated. No team has even lost three in a row; however‚ the Denver Broncos and Minnesota Vikings have both lost back-to-back championship games. THE KOREAN BROADCAST CALL OF THE TYLER BASS WIDE RIGHT MISS WAS ELECTRIC. \n\nIt would be nice if we could get this more on our broadcast — (@) Like Blaze News?
