CONTRADICTION: AP Cries ‘Climate Change’ Over US ‘Deep Freeze’ While Much of the World ‘Toasty’

The eco fanatics over at The Associated Press are trying to have their cake and eat it too by screeching “climate change” to explain both freezing and warm weather happening simultaneously around the world. AP’s climate agitprop artist-in-chief Seth Borenstein ran another one of his signature environmentalist specials with a headline that was nothing short of comical: “US in deep freeze while much of the world is extra toasty? Yet again‚ it’s climate change.” Borenstein must have realized that his headline was contradictory because he tried to explain it away in the first paragraph of his piece: “Much of the United States is shivering through brutal cold as most of the rest of the world is feeling unusually warm weather.” Then came the kicker: “However strange it sounds‚ that contradiction fits snugly in explanations of what climate change is doing to Earth‚ scientists said.” JunkScience.com founder Steve Milloy ripped Borenstein’s ridiculous take in comments to MRC Business. “The climate hoax has always been based on ‘say anything’ science and that’s exactly the position the hoaxers have been placed in with the present brutally cold weather‚” Milloy rebuked. Borenstein continued: “If it seems as if the world has gone topsy-turvy‚ in a way it has.” He proceeded to blame the contradictory phenomenon on alleged warming in the Arctic destabilizing the polar vortex: “Because this all comes from what’s happening in the Arctic‚ where it used to be warming twice as fast as the rest of the planet. Now‚ it’s warming three to four times faster.” Milloy retorted that this is a “long debunked hypothesis” brought about by an AP activist masquerading as a journalist who “has a long history of uncritically parroting climate alarmists.” Milloy rebuffed Borenstein’s argument: Borenstein suggests that warming has somehow destabilized the usual circular Arctic wind pattern (polar vortex) diverting the cold weather across the Northern Hemisphere. But these sorts of diversions have always happened and are not new. Moreover‚ if warming diverted the polar vortex‚ the effect would be stronger in summer. But that is not what is observed. Borenstein’s assertion that the Arctic is warming four times faster than the rest of the planet is also not supported by credible temperature data. Current Arctic sea ice extent is the same as 2006 despite a trillion tons of emissions. Greenland has not lost any ice over the same time period. But Borenstein’s contradiction for the sake of peddling his climate change brainwashing is typical for a so-called “unbiased” news organization that’s getting millions in funding from climate-obsessed interest groups. This effectively made the AP a propaganda arm of the climate change lobby.  One of its most recently disclosed financiers‚ the radical KR Foundation‚ openly boasts of how it’s “[s]upporting a rapid phase-out of fossil fuels.” The Denmark-based organization is financing the equivalent of roughly $300‚000 to AP spread out between the years 2022 and 2024 for its Global Scholars Network.  Moreover‚ KR is specifically leading an effort to drive U.S. banks out of fossil fuels. It particularly bemoaned how the rise of the “anti-ESG” movement was allegedly causing “many financial institutions to backpedal on their climate ambitions.” Of course‚ AP buried a vague disclosure about the glaring conflict of interest at the bottom of Borenstein's report. AP even undercut its own disclosure by claiming that it was "solely responsible for all content."  Yeah‚ sure.  No wonder AP is willing to push out nonsensical climate change hot takes‚ even at the sake of looking like it contradicts itself: The media outlet is getting paid a fortune to be a mouthpiece for the eco-activist left. Conservatives are under attack. Contact the Associated Press at 212-621-1500 and demand it quit acting like a mouthpiece for its eco-extremist donors.

MSNBC Outraged Israel Rejects Two-State Solution While Hamas in Power

The Israel/Hamas War was still raging in the Gaza Strip on Friday with no end in sight‚ especially since Hamas was still refusing to release the hostages. But on MSNBC‚ host Andrea Mitchell and chief foreign correspondent Richard Engel were clutching their pearls over Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejecting the idea of a two-state solution with the Palestinians while their Hamas government was still in power. Engel engaged in revisionist history to blame the collapse in peace talks on the PM instead of Palestinians‚ and Mitchell was schooled on the situation by a Democratic senator. “Netanyahu saying that he definitely will not consider a path towards a Palestinian state‚ which as you know has been U.S. and E.U.‚ U.N. policy for decades and decades‚” Mitchell whined. “And this is now the crux of a Saudi and Arab and U.S. plan for a post-Gaza reconstruction‚ governance‚ and eventual statehood.” Engel lamented it wasn’t likely Netanyahu would be up for “softening in his position or his government” anytime soon. “This is his position. This is the core of his identity. And it is what he is using to hold his coalition together‚” he chided. Recalling his reporting in the early 2000s‚ Engel delved into some revisionist history to shift blame from Palestinians to Netanyahu for the breakdown in peace talks featuring a two-state solution: He came into power at the end of the peace process. I was there. I was covering Israel and the peace process‚ at the time. When Ariel Sharon did a very famous march on top of what the Israelis call the Temple Mount‚ what the Palestinians call the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound or noble sanctuary. And it was the end of the peace process and that ushered in a period of Sharon and then ultimately Netanyahu. Since then‚ there has been no peace process‚ no peace process that would ever lead to a Palestinian state. And that has been Netanyahu’s political space. “Netanyahu and his coalition simply do not agree to that and believe that it would be a violation of every – of all of their principles and Israeli sovereignty‚” he huffed‚ suggesting Israel was to blame for the October 7 terrorist attack Hamas carried out against Israeli civilians.     But Engel was hiding the truth. Former Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon left office in 2006 and Netanyahu didn’t begin his first term until 2009. That 2006 date is important because that’s when the Palestinians voted to reject peace and a two-state solution. According to the National Counterterrorism Center‚ “[Hamas] in early 2006 won legislative elections in the Palestinian territories‚ ending the secular Fatah party’s hold on the Palestinian Authority and challenging Fatah’s leadership of the Palestinian nationalist movement.” Later in the show‚ Mitchell spoke with Maryland Democratic Senator Ben Cardin and was looking for him to join in their bashing of Netanyahu.  “What do you think about the Netanyahu posture against an eventual Palestinian state in response to a Saudi‚ U.S.‚ Arab group proposal to rebuild Gaza as long as -- and help secure it‚ regovern it or build up a Palestinian governance as long as there's at least a pathway for the Palestinians?” she pressed him. But Cardin didn’t bite. He explained that Israel had taken the sensible position of refusing to negotiate for peace with genocidal terrorists and would be amenable to talks only after the threat was removed. “Israel right now is focused on the war and Hamas. But when that war ends‚ when Hamas is no longer a threat to Israel or the Palestinians‚ then Israel is going to be focused on normalization in the region‚” he schooled her. “They want a normal relationship with the kingdom of Saudi Arabia‚ the kingdom also would like to see that type of normalization agreements reached.” He even seemed to suggest he sympathized with Netanyahu: So‚ I recognize with the Prime Minister saying today when the war is over‚ when the threat is eliminated from Hamas‚ we expect there will be a different attitude‚ particularly in the desire to get normalization with countries in the region. Mitchell didn’t seem to like that as she decried Israel’s “right-wing coalition” government. The transcript is below. Click "expand" to read: MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell Reports January 19‚ 2024 12:15:36 p.m. Eastern (…) ANDREA MITCHELL: And Richard‚ let me just take you back to Israel and Gaza‚ which you’ve been covering so intensively. Netanyahu saying that he definitely will not consider a path towards a Palestinian state‚ which as you know has been U.S. and E.U.‚ U.N. policy for decades and decades. And this is now the crux of a Saudi and Arab and U.S. plan for a post-Gaza reconstruction‚ governance‚ and eventual statehood. Do you think this is final? Or is there some softening in the – not in his coalition but within the government that the U.S. can exploit? RICHARD ENGEL: I don't think there's a softening in his position or his government. This is his position. This is the core of his identity. And it is what he is using to hold his coalition together. Since Netanyahu has been in power -- in and out of power‚ but a dominant force in Israeli politics for nearly two decades‚ he has been opposed to a Palestinian state. He talked proudly about opposing a Palestinian state. He talked recently about how proud he was to stop it. He came into power at the end of the peace process. That he was able to provide Israelis with security‚ with economic prosperity and no peace process that would lead to a Palestinian state. That exploded on October 7. And now the administration is trying to say‚ “Okay‚ that approach that you’ve had for nearly two decades didn't work. The Palestinians -- there was so much anger and hate that burst into the massacre that we saw‚ we have to go back to an original plan that will have a statehood at the end of it.” Netanyahu and his coalition simply do not agree to that and believe that it would be a violation of every – of all of their principles and Israeli sovereignty. MITCHELL: The U.S. hope is that Netanyahu and others in Israel are going to want that Saudi deal so badly that they might soften. (…) 12:43:05 p.m. Eastern MITCHELL: What do you think about the Netanyahu posture against an eventual Palestinian state in response to a Saudi‚ U.S.‚ Arab group proposal to rebuild Gaza as long as -- and help secure it‚ regovern it or build up a Palestinian governance as long as there's at least a pathway for the Palestinians? SEN. BEN CARDIN (D-MD): So Andrea‚ let me put this in perspective. I did meet with Secretary Blinken yesterday. I have had conversations with many of the players in the Middle East. Israel right now is focused on the war and Hamas. But when that war ends‚ when Hamas is no longer a threat to Israel or the Palestinians‚ then Israel is going to be focused on normalization in the region. They want a normal relationship with the kingdom of Saudi Arabia‚ the kingdom also would like to see that type of normalization agreements reached. Two things must happen in order for that to happen. First‚ Hamas must be eliminated as a threat to the Palestinians and Israelis. And secondly‚ there must be a clear path for a Palestinian state and the state of Israel living side by side in peace‚ recognizing each other's rights and without fear of any security concerns. So‚ once the Hamas threat is eliminated‚ the attitude and I think the language is going to change pretty dramatically. There is no other option for peace in the region than two states living side by side in peace. So‚ I recognize with the Prime Minister saying today when the war is over‚ when the threat is eliminated from Hamas‚ we expect there will be a different attitude‚ particularly in the desire to get normalization with countries in the region. Why Donald Trump Won the GOP Nomination

Why Donald Trump Won the GOP Nomination

Donald Trump is the presumptive Republican nominee for president after a dominant performance in the Iowa caucuses -- a performance in which he earned over 50% of the vote and left his closest competitors in the dust. Trump currently leads in the polls in New Hampshire‚ South Carolina and every other primary state. Get ready for “Trump vs. Biden II: Electric Boogaloo.” The big question‚ of course‚ is why? Why does Trump retain such a grip on the Republican imagination after losing the 2020 election‚ contributing heavily to the loss of two Republican Senate seats in Georgia in 2021‚ and contributing heavily to the loss of the Senate in 2022 with his spate of bizarre primary picks? Why should Trump‚ who spends much of every day fulminating about his upcoming legal cases‚ have the upper hand against Republicans without such baggage? Why does Trump‚ who is certainly no conservative ideologue‚ live so large in the imagination of conservatives? There are several reasons. Primarily‚ Trump is lucky in his enemies. To be more precise‚ Trump’s very presence on the political stage -- and his victory over Hillary Clinton in 2016 -- drove his enemies out of their minds. Those enemies determined that any and all means were appropriate for undermining his presidency and his 2020 reelection bid: from Russian collusion nonsense to multiple impeachments‚ from nodding at historically damaging riots to blaming him for a pandemic‚ from changing the voting rules to lying about and then shutting down the dissemination of the Hunter Biden laptop story‚ anything was on the table. So when Trump claimed in the post-2020 election landscape that he had been robbed of victory‚ that contention rang true‚ even if his contentions about outright voter fraud remained unproven. Trump has been the title character of “Trump: The Series” since 2015. In the end‚ the chances that Americans would allow a recasting before his reelection effort were always low. But those chances shrank to zero the moment Trump’s enemies weaponized the legal system against him. When Trump’s enemies‚ in the aftermath of Joe Biden’s election win‚ continued to come after Trump using the legal system‚ Trump argued that he was a stand-in for conservatives everywhere‚ who feel that they are targeted for destruction by America’s most powerful institutions. That argument had major purchase: by polling data‚ Trump’s bump to the top of the Republican 2024 heap came not with his reelection announcement‚ but with the announcement in March 2023 that he would be indicted in Manhattan on specious charges of campaign finance violation. The drumbeat of new legal charges against him‚ dropped everywhere from Florida to Washington‚ D.C. to Georgia‚ simply added fuel to the fire. Perhaps even that legal news could have been turned against Trump in a primary race. But there was one more factor Trump needed: He needed Joe Biden to be so terrible at his job‚ so outright awful‚ that Trump would suddenly look competitive. The electability argument -- the argument that Trump’s losing record since 2016 would continue into 2024 -- collapsed for Trump’s Republican opponents as Biden’s approval rating sank into the 30s. Republicans’ hearts were with Trump; now their heads could be with him‚ too. And so Trump is the presumptive nominee. The only question is whether he will reenter the White House in January 2025. And that question‚ ironically‚ will be answered less by Trump than by Biden. Trump’s campaign will be relatively quiet: He’ll be relegated to courtrooms and TruthSocial; there will be no debates. Which means that 2024 could easily be a referendum on Biden’s presidency. And if that happens‚ Trump will have capped the most remarkable political comeback since Richard Nixon won the White House in 1968.

'Misinformation'? We'll be the judge of that

An expert has said: “The internet is a big dumpster. There’s no guarantee that anything you find on it is true.” Yes. The internet is a dumpster. That’s the appeal. Dumpsters hold treasure. This is why people regularly lower themselves into these reeking metal containers to wade through piles of garbage: the widely known fact that valuable stuff gets thrown out all the time. You can find unopened bags of Halloween candy‚ 4K TVs still in their boxes‚ Mayan artifacts. No surprise there. There are many reasons a person might toss something that’s not strictly “trash” into a dumpster. They don’t know what it is‚ for example. Or they don’t want anyone else to see it.I’m not worried about “misinformation” when I log on. And I don’t know anybody who is. (Except the people looking for work policing it.) Something I just Googled: “Inform” comes from the Latin informare‚ “to train or instruct;” hence “misinform” = “to train or instruct in the wrong way.” Well‚ isn’t doing things “the wrong way” how we innovate? I’m no philologist‚ but I’m going to go with my gut and conclude that misinformation is good and healthy and can lead to greater knowledge. It doesn’t matter; either way it’s getting harder and harder to get properly misinformed. Very easy‚ on the other hand‚ to get lied to or have your face rubbed in the totally fake. Forget buying blue checks or rating speeches on a scale of “Pinocchios” — verifying ourselves to each other is hardly the point. The main thing is that we continue to submit to verification by the Borg.I can feel it when I’m getting algorithm poisoning. I can’t say that regular trips scavenging for wisdom in the junkyard of the unrecommended‚ unliked‚ and unmonetized are any kind of solution‚ but it does provide relief. Maybe for you too? There’s a young and very successful self-help writer whose reels always pop up on my Instagram. He’s really into the Stoics. He urgently and sincerely wants to sell me on “memento mori‚” but looking at his unlined face as he gets worked up about Marcus Aurelius gives me the sensation of having been uploaded to a place beyond life and death. Much better at getting me to think about my impending mortality is Martyn Pedler’s old Tumblr‚ “And the Man Next to You‚” a series of short‚ poetic entries detailing “the tragic backstory of everyone killed in [1992 Steven Seagal blockbuster] Under Siege.” This is dated 2012‚ somewhat before NPC discourse‚ but empathizing with these doomed action movie henchmen can really put you back in your body: “Before every mission‚ he makes a list. ... But when you are about to die — when you’ve seen three others sliced up in seconds and know you’re next — your list is somewhat different. Not yet‚ it says. Just those words in smeared‚ desperate handwriting that fills a thousand pages‚ all falling to the floor and lying there unread. Not yet.”In 2011 David Berman started a blog. At the time this was rare enough that Pitchfork covered it. Menthol Mountains now remains as a kind of memorial to Berman‚ who killed himself two weeks after his final post‚ a collection of Thomas Bernhard quotes. You don’t encounter Berman here (he rarely posted his own words)‚ just the things he left behind: a video of Robert Klein and Lucie Arnaz performing “They’re Playing Our Song” at the 1979 Tony awards (headed “my only Broadway show”)‚ quotes from the Talmud‚ an excerpt from “The Gervais Principle III.” Comments were never enabled‚ so you can’t leave him a note the way people do on Twitter or Facebook. Just old links on an obsolete platform. It’s quiet here. All is vanity. You simply cannot get enough reminders of this. My favorite “vaccine” (it doesn’t stop the spread‚ but it might make you less sick) for mimetic contagion is the “leaked phone messages from '80s super agent Warren Klein.” These are well crafted enough (by Matt Oberg and Jody Lambert) that when they first went viral in 2011‚ they had to be debunked as a hoax. Now they languish on a small YouTube channel‚ as much a relic of a different age as the Brat Packers Warren comforts and cajoles: pleading with Andrew McCarthy to take the role in "Ladyhawke" before they cast “Matty Broderick” ("Rutger turns into a wolf by night‚ Michelle turns into a hawk by day‚ and you turn into an above-the-title movie star by October") and reassuring "Gleaming the Cube" star Christian Slater about Josh Brolin's rival skateboarding epic ("He's lucky if he could ollie over a matchbook"). Warren’s breathless dedication to his then A-list clients never fails to cheer me up when my engagement is down. Also cheering (and‚ at times‚ chilling) is this thought: Maybe the only clout that lasts is the clout we have with our Lord and Savior.

Ted Cruz makes Democrat senator regret attacking his character over controversial nominee: 'A new low for this committee'

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) tore into Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) on Thursday for accusing him of opposing a federal judicial nominee on the basis of religion.President Joe Biden has nominated Adeel Abdullah Mangi to serve on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. If his controversial nomination succeeds‚ he would become the highest-ranking Muslim on the federal judiciary.Mangi's nomination is not controversial because of his faith. Rather‚ Mangi served on the advisory board of Rutgers Law School's controversial Center for Security‚ Race and Rights from 2019 to 2023. The organization‚ according to Cruz‚ has a history of anti-Semitism and deep anti-Israel sentiment and has‚ in the past‚ hosted at least one speaker who was criminally convicted of supporting the Palestine Islamic Jihad‚ a terrorist organization. At his Senate Judiciary Committee hearing last month‚ Mangi insisted he had no role in the controversial decisions and associations of CSRR.Prior to the committee voting on Mangi's nomination‚ Cruz spent 10 minutes reminding his Senate colleagues of the concerns about Mangi and his association with the CSRR. But instead of responding to the substance of those concerns‚ Durbin insulted Cruz."What is it about Adeel Mangi that attracts such criticism? We know what the starting point is. He would be the first Muslim-American to be appointed to serve on the circuit bench‚" Durbin said. "And we know because of that‚ he is a target. ... So what is this man? And why should we be concerned? You've just heard a presentation‚ a suggestion that because of his background‚ he is likely to be either anti-Semitic or a terrorist because he's a Muslim-American." Cruz was not happy with Durbin's accusation that opposition to Mangi's nomination is because of his Muslim faith."You have just impugned my character by making a false accusation‚ and I will say it is disgraceful!" Cruz chided. "Did you respond to any of the substance of what I said? No! You just attacked me and called me a bigot‚ and you responded by stating deliberate falsehoods."And when Durbin tried to interrupt him‚ Cruz shut him down."Excuse me‚ I have a right to defend myself when you impugn my character in a way that is a new low for this committee‚" he said. "You did not dispute any of the facts I said about the organization that he was an adviser of‚ he was a donor of‚ he raised money for."Later‚ Durbin said that Mangi had "no connection" to the CSRR‚ which lit another fire under Cruz."Did you just say he had no connection with this organization? Is that seriously what you said in this hearing?" Cruz interjected. "He was on the board of advisers‚ he was a donor and raised money for it‚ but you just said he has no connection with them?""See? You twist this situation‚" Durbin accused. When Cruz followed up by asking Durbin if he really believes that Mangi had "no connection" to the CSRR‚ Durbin refused to answer."OK‚ you're refusing to answer because it's obviously indefensible and false‚" Cruz said. After the tense moment‚ the Senate Judiciary Committee‚ which is controlled by Democrats‚ advanced Mangi's nomination to the full Senate by a vote of 11-10. Eric Holder gives away Democrats' fear over Trump's re-election: He might use the Biden admin's playbook

Eric Holder gives away Democrats' fear over Trump's re-election: He might use the Biden admin's playbook

Former Attorney General Eric Holder joined MSNBC's Joy Reid Thursday to regurgitate the theme now central to the Biden campaign: Democracy is under threat by a choice of candidate unfavorable to the Democratic Party. Besides conflating democracy and the Democrats' control of the executive branch‚ Holder suggested that former President Donald Trump would render America "unrecognizable" over the course of his second term. Contrary to Holder's suggestion‚ the supposed dystopia he conceptualized is neither unfamiliar nor unprecedented‚ but rather an imagined Republican version of the current prosecutorial regime. Holder's remarks appear therefore to hint at Democratic fears that their playbook may soon be adopted and used against them. Fresh off of castigating "white Christians" for backing Trump and comparing Trump voters to Hitler supporters‚ Reid prompted the former Obama AG to paint for her remaining audience a picture of wrath and ruin in the event of a Trump victory. First‚ she set the tone by playing footage of Mike Davis of the Article III Project publicizing what he would do if appointed Trump's attorney general. "Before I get chased out of town with my Trump pardon‚ I will rain hell on Washington‚ D.C.‚" Davis‚ former chief counsel for nomination to Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley‚ quipped to conservative pundit Benny Johnson in an interview last year. "We're gonna fire a lot of people in the executive branch‚ in the deep state." "We're gonna indict Joe Biden and Hunter Biden and James Biden and every other scumball‚ sleazeball Biden‚ except for the 5-year-old granddaughter who they refused to acknowledge for five years until the political pressure got to Joe Biden‚" continued Davis. "We're gonna deport a lot of people‚ 10 million people and growing — anchor babies‚ their parents‚ their grandparents." Referencing Davis' remarks‚ Reid asked Holder‚ "How concerned are you that will be the kind of Department of Justice Donald Trump will run in real life if he becomes president again?" "I think we have to take them at their word and take Donald Trump at his word‚" said Holder‚ who previously defended Reid over her choice words for members of the LGBT community. "Whether or not that idiot becomes attorney general or not‚ they will — Trump will try to put in place an attorney general who will do ... his bidding." Holder indicated that having "learned from the first term‚" Trump might also get someone loyal leading the DOJ's Criminal Division who is similarly impactful. "We will have an administration in place that will actually do the kinds of things that they tried to do in the first term‚ but were thwarted by career people and by people‚ to be fair‚ other political appointees who decided that they would not go against the rule of law‚" said Holder. "A second Trump term would have a politicized‚ weaponized — forget politicized — weaponized United States Department of Justice that would do the kinds of things that‚ with all due respect‚ that idiot just said‚" continued the former "Fast and Furious" AG who was previously held in contempt of Congress. "You have a president who is beyond the reach of law. You have a Justice Department that goes after political opponents on absolutely no basis. He's going to prosecute Joe Biden. Well‚ exactly for what? That's not going to bother them‚" said Holder. "You would have a United States of America that would be unrecognizable to us; that would be one that you would see more in Putin's Russia as opposed to the United States that we have come to all know and love." While Holder reached across the globe in search of a parallel‚ there appears to be an analogue right in Washington. After all‚ President Joe Biden has so far gone unscathed by raids or trials over his alleged mishandling of classified documents and involvement in Hunter Biden's questionable foreign business dealings. Meanwhile‚ the Biden Department of Justice has brought over 40 federal felony charges against Trump — not including the scores of additional charges that Democratic prosecutors have drummed up at the state level‚ where the Biden administration's presence is still felt. A recent court motion revealed there may have been possible coordination between elements of the Biden White House and the prosecution in Trump's Georgia election interference case. Similar concerns have been raised about a meeting between special counsel Jack Smith's team and the Biden administration before the Republican's indictment concerning his handling of classified documents. The DOJ‚ which now has a pro-abortion task force‚ along with other arms of the Biden administration‚ has targeted the president's apparent ideological foes and critics‚ including pro-life activists‚ journalists‚ and conservative Christians‚ while Democrat-aligned groups have worked to strike Biden's top rival off ballots ahead of the 2024 election. Holder‚ who served in a Democratic administration that weaponized the IRS against its political opponents‚ told Reid‚ "American democracy could end with the election of Donald Trump." This has become something of a tagline for Biden allies and the 81-year-old Democrat's campaign. Hours after his rival was removed from the primary ballot in Colorado‚ Biden tweeted‚ "Trump poses many threats to our country: The Right to choose‚ civil rights‚ voting rights‚ and America's standing in the world." "But the greatest threat he poses is to our democracy‚" continued Biden. "If we lose that‚ we lose everything." In Biden's first major campaign event of the year‚ he said‚ "America‚ as we begin this election year‚ we must be clear‚ democracy is on the ballot. Your freedom is on the ballot." "This is the first national election since January 6 insurrection placed a dagger at the throat of American democracy — since that moment‚" continued Biden. "We all know who Donald Trump is. The question we have to answer is: Who are we?" Eric Holder: "You think of the America that they are trying to create. You have a president who is beyond the reach of the law. You have a Justice Department that goes after political opponents. American democracy could end with the election of Donald Trump." — (@) Davis‚ referenced by Reid‚ responded on X‚ "Obama Attorney General @EricHolder is the trailblazer in politicizing and weaponizing law enforcement. We'll ensure we use his playbook as we troll leftists about my 3-week reign of terror." Like Blaze News? NEW FACTS: Jan 6 DNC 'PIPE BOMB' story finally explodes!

BlazeTV’s investigative team has blown the story wide open on who really discovered the pipe bomb outside of DNC headquarters on January 6. The original story went that a masked passerby stumbled on the pipe bomb before approaching the Capitol Police to report what he found. But as more information is revealed‚ the original story is looking more like a lie. “There was a massive cover up‚” Grant Stinchfield‚ host of "Real America’s Voice‚" tells Sara Gonzales. The pipe bomb was dropped outside of the DNC party headquarters‚ and the original surveillance tape was edited so viewers couldn’t see who dropped the pipe bomb. Now‚ three years later‚ it’s been discovered that it wasn’t a passerby who found the pipe bomb at all. Rather‚ it was a U.S. Capitol policeman in plainclothes. After the plainclothes officer told the responding police officers‚ they proceeded to finish their lunch in their vehicles. Sara Gonzales has questions. “How did the Secret Service fail to find a bomb prior to Harris’ arrival? Why did operators in the Capitol Police Command Center deliberately redirect CCTV cameras away from the pipe bomb investigation and detonation? Why do the Secret Service Agent and MPD officer feel safe enough to finish their lunch before investigating a pipe bomb 15 feet away?” Gonzales asks. None of it is adding up. “We may not ever know the truth‚” Gonzales says. “But something severely stinks about that entire day.” Want more from "The News &; Why It Matters?"To enjoy more rundowns of the top stories of the day‚ subscribe to BlazeTV — the largest multi-platform network of voices who love America‚ defend the Constitution‚ and live the American dream.

Ford cuts production of F-150 Lightning EV in half‚ sends employees to work on gas-fueled Bronco and Ranger

Ford is cutting jobs for its production of electric F-150 Lightning and transferring manpower to a different production facility to produce gas-powered vehicles. The announcement initially came in December 2023‚ with the company massively falling short of its plan to produce 150‚000 electric trucks per year.Despite the sales of the EV truck skyrocketing by 55%‚ that only amounted to 24‚000 sold. The latest cuts are due to the low customer demand‚ and they have slashed production roughly in half. Ford's Rouge Electric Vehicle Center in Michigan has whittled its typical two production shifts for the F-150 Lightning down to one‚ CNBC reported. The move impacts approximately 1‚400 employees‚ with the reduction beginning on April 1‚ 2024. Ford announced that 700 of the affected workers will transfer to the Michigan Assembly Plant where the Ford Bronco and Ford Ranger are produced. The automaker also noted that a third shift will be implemented at the Michigan plant in summer 2024‚ adding another batch of 900 jobs to make a 1‚600-person crew. The increased production staff is to work on a new Ranger and Ranger Raptor set for a 2024 release window."We are taking advantage of our manufacturing flexibility to offer customers choices while balancing our growth and profitability. Customers love the F-150 Lightning‚ America’s best-selling EV pickup‚" Ford CEO Jim Farley claimed‚ despite the model's poor performance."We see a bright future for electric vehicles for specific consumers‚ especially with our upcoming digitally advanced EVs and access to Tesla’s charging network beginning this quarter‚" he added. The Ford Bronco and Ranger suffered a slump in sales of 9.7% and 43.3% respectively in 2023 with a large impact felt from the United Auto Workers labor strike that impacted the nation.Remaining outcasts from the Rouge Electric Vehicle Center are to be transferred to other nearby plants or will participate in a "Special Retirement Incentive Program‚" which was a part of the new UAW contract.UAW president Shawn Fain called the new deal with Ford a "major victory" for the union's "stand up strike" strategy‚ which also included a 25% general wage increase. Additionally‚ the automaker's starting wage will increase by about 68% and its top wage by roughly 33%.The strike lasted nearly six weeks and saw significant influence from high-ranking politicians such as Senator Josh Hawley‚ Senator John Fetterman‚ and President Donald Trump. President Biden took an electric Ford pickup truck for a test drive after speaking to auto workers in Dearborn‚ Michigan. \n\n"This sucker's quick‚" Biden said‚ donning aviator sunglasses in the driver's seat of the new F-150 Lightning. https://t.co/Ja77YIc2jM — (@) Like Blaze News?
