A cat who may have started life near subway tracks has discovered the comfort of a home, transforming his entire world. Using a humane trap, they successfully secured the tabby and rushed him to the hospital.They found a large, gnarly wound on his haunch, likely from getting snagged on something sharp. He needed a week of careful wound management at the hospital. Yet, through it all, he remained calm and sweet, as if he understood he was finally safe. LittleWanderersNYCThe cat named Amtrak (aka Amtrack) began to heal under the attentive care of a veterinary team. He responded well to treatment, which included daily bandage changes and medication. "To our delight, Amtrak turned out to be incredibly friendly," Little Wanderers NYC shared."Just a few days ago, he was clinging to life under the subway tracks. Now, he's showing us what a gem he really is." LittleWanderersNYCA volunteer welcomed Amtrak into their home, giving him a cozy space to continue his recovery. Though a bit shy at first, he soon revealed his curious and affectionate nature.
