“The View” host Joy Behar complained about President Donald Trump’s decision to strike Iranian nuclear sites, first objecting to the fact that he did not exhaust the two week window he’d set for such an attack, and then to the fact that he had not warned Iran ahead of time that he planned to carry out the attacks. Behar addressed the topic on Monday’s broadcast of the midday talk show, along with her regular cohosts — and ABC News chief Washington correspondent Jonathan Karl pushed back when she suggested that the Trump administration had been out of line in attacking the Iranian nuclear enrichment facilities. “So on Thursday, the White House said that Trump was going to make a decision on Iran in the next two weeks, that’s what he said, remember that?” Behar began. “Okay, he was going to give diplomatic negotiations more time to play out. And then less than 48 hours later, this attack was underway. So what changed and what was he actually trying to accomplish here?” “Look, the two weeks measure was clearly a little bit of a head fake,” Karl replied. “I mean, not entirely. I wouldn’t say the decision was finally made. The New York Times is under fire for what many are calling a bizarre hit piece on Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy. The piece, by reporter Caroline Kitchener, calls Duffy the “MTV Reality Star in Trump’s Cabinet Who Wants You to Have More Kids.” Duffy appeared on “The Real World: Boston” in 1997, and “Road Rules: Allstars” the following year, where he met his future wife, Rachel Campos. Duffy and Campos wed in 1999 and went on to have nine children. Duffy’s political career began in 2002, when he was named District Attorney of Ashland County, Wisconsin. He served in the House of Representatives from 2011-2019. During his first campaign, he told Politico that his time as a reality TV star was “a lifetime ago,” calling it “Six months, 15 years ago.” Still, to Kitchener, Duffy is still the “sex-hungry 25-year-old on MTV’s “The Real World,” now using his family for clout, and letting his personal convictions about family influence his policy. Kitchener, who chronicles family issues in the “Trump era” for the Times, is a former abortion reporter for the Washington Post and received the Pulitzer Prize in 2023 for work on the overturning of Roe v. Wade. Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) revealed on Monday that U.S. intelligence contradicts claims that Iran moved nuclear materials before President Trump’s weekend airstrikes, which the senator believes “severely damaged, if not completely destroyed” Iran’s nuclear weapons capabilities. Satellite imagery taken prior to the attack, circulating across social media over the weekend, revealed trucks surrounding Fordo allegedly poised to haul away all nuclear material, which the senator rejects. “[Israel and Iran] are claiming that they moved some material,” Mullin said. “Our intelligence report says they didn’t. In fact, we actually believe they stored more of it in Fordo because they believe Fordo was impenetrable,” the Oklahoma Republican said in an interview on CNBC’s “Squawk Box.” The Fordo facility, located 300 feet underneath a mountain, was one of three Iranian nuclear sites targeted by American air strikes on Saturday, along with facilities at Natanz and Isfahan. “We have the ability to destroy things that people think were undestroyable. And so we think we did a really good job,” Mullin said.
