The State Department issued a rare “Worldwide Caution” alert on Sunday amid concerns about a heightened risk of terror attacks by Iranian sleeper cells. A White House official told The Daily Wire they are staying vigilant and that the Trump administration will use all resources available to protect both the United States and its assets abroad. A bulletin from the Department of Homeland Security’s National Terrorism Advisory System on Sunday warned that the “ongoing Iran conflict is causing a heightened threat environment in the United States.” The alert issued on Sunday warns American citizens overseas to “exercise increased caution,” adding that there is “potential for demonstrations against U.S. citizens and interests abroad.” According to NBC, Iran sent a message to Trump through an intermediary at the G7 summit in Canada last week, warning that it could activate sleeper cell terror if he attacked.
