During his show, Giuliani also detailed the events of the car crash on Saturday. NBC Boston reported: Giuliani said he was in New Hampshire on Saturday to see a minor league baseball game. After leaving, he was riding along Interstate 93 in a rented Ford Bronco, with spokesperson Ted Goodman behind the wheel, when the vehicle was struck from behind by a Honda HR-V driven by a 19-year-old woman, New Hampshire State Police said in a statement. Both vehicles hit the highway median and were “heavily damaged,” the statement said. Goodman and the 19-year-old suffered “non-life-threatening injuries” and were taken to hospitals for treatment, the agency said. Giuliani was taken by ambulance to a nearby trauma center for treatment of a fractured thoracic vertebra, multiple lacerations and contusions, and injuries to his left arm and lower leg, according to a statement posted on X by Michael Ragusa, Giuliani’s head of security. The thoracic vertebrae are part of the spine. State police said the cause of the crash was under investigation. No charges were filed. Before the accident, Giuliani and Goodman said on Tuesday’s shows, a woman flagged them down shortly before 9 p.m. Saturday. She told them she was being abused or attacked by a man in her company and asked to get in their car, they said. “She was clearly distressed, but she was under control” and didn’t appear injured, Giuliani said. Goodman said the woman was with someone who was holding up a flashlight that obscured that person’s face. Uneasy about the situation but wanting to help, Giuliani and Goodman told the woman to stay put while they pulled up a bit further along the road and called police. While they were on the phone with authorities, the woman approached their car and asked for their phone, saying she could call her sister to collect her, Giuliani said. They refused and offered her a ride instead, but she went away, the two said. Giuliani said that after police and an ambulance arrived, a state trooper told him that the woman had badly beaten the man. A message seeking comment and further details was sent to state police. Goodman eventually got back on the road, and the collision happened a few minutes later, he and Giuliani said. Investigators said the reported domestic violence and the crash were believed to be unrelated. “We got hit in the back, I would say, the hardest I’ve ever been hit in my whole life,” said the ex-mayor, who said both he and Goodman were wearing seatbelts. The new map would likely give Republicans another House seat, locking in a 7-1 majority in the Missouri House. Next, it’s headed to for a full House vote, which will happen within the next few weeks. KMBC reported: The Missouri House Special Committee on Redistricting advanced a proposed congressional map by a 10-4 vote on Thursday. Dozens of people turned out for the first public hearing on a plan that would split up a Kansas City congressional district to give Republicans a shot at winning seven of Missouri’s eight U.S. House seats. Republicans already hold six of those seats. Of course, the map is set to face strong opposition from Democrats in the House and Senate. But, if it can clear those hurdles, then it’s possible the new Congressional map could be signed by Missouri’s Gov. Kehoe by the end of the month. More from The New York Times:  Missouri Democrats have decried the proposed new map, saying it would water down the political power of Black voters and other groups. “Democracy in Missouri is taking a devastating blow, one it may not recover from,” State Representative Mark Sharp, the top Democrat on the redistricting committee, said during Thursday’s hearing in the Missouri House. State Representative Dirk Deaton, a Republican who is leading the redistricting push, said the map under consideration was drawn up by the governor’s office. He called it an improvement over the current one, arguing that it would “split fewer counties and municipalities.” Representative Richard West, a Republican who chairs the committee, pushed back on suggestions that the new map would disenfranchise a significant number of voters. The revised district boundaries, he argued, could actually make a handful of existing Republican-held seats “more competitive.” If the House passes the proposal, as is widely expected, the Missouri Senate would take it up. A new map could be ready for Governor Kehoe to sign into law in the next few weeks.

This evening, President Trump hosted a big dinner with several tech CEOs at the White House — including Bill Gates, who sat right next to Melania Trump during the event. At one point, President Trump asked Gates if he wanted to deliver some remarks. The Mirror noted: At one point during the dinner, Trump turned to Gates and asked him if he wanted to say a few words. Gates said he was in the “second phase” of his career through the innovation of health, “in areas like vaccines or gene editing.” Gates said that he and Trump had spoken about taking American innovation “to the next level to cure and even eradicate some of these diseases.” “He mentioned polio, which is one we’re close. We don’t need new science on that one,” said Gates. “For some like HIV and sickle-cell, we do need new science, but the U.S. has the seeds, the same that ‘warp speed’ took those seeds and put them together.” The CEO was referring to Operation Warp Speed, a partnership initiated by the U.S. government to accelerate the development and distribution of the COVID-19 pandemic, which Trump officially announced in his first term before being taken over by then-President Joe Biden. Gates then spoke about his goals with artificial intelligence, such as providing a doctor for everyone in Africa, offering farmers advice, and giving children the opportunity to learn. “The work being done by the people at this table is changing the world,” he said. As Gates spoke, Trump nodded along, but some viewers said the president squirmed in his seat. The dinner came hours after Trump’s Secretary of Health and Human Services, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., was grilled by the Senate Finance Committee in a hearing on Thursday. For a long time, President Trump championed Operation Warp Speed as an accomplishment of his. While President Trump has done a lot of truly wonderful things for our nation and will go down in history as one of the great ones, nobody is perfect. President Trump’s attitude towards Operation Warp Speed has been one of his (few) shortfalls. Biden’s health hasn’t been the best over the last several months. A new video has emerged that shows Joe Biden wearing a huge bandage on the right side of his head. According to Biden’s spokesperson, he was wearing the bandage because he had just undergone surgery to treat his skin cancer. Fox News gave a further health update on Biden: Former President Joe Biden recently had surgery to treat skin cancer – a revelation that comes after worrying photos and video surfaced showing the 82-year-old with what appeared to be a giant gash on his head. Biden’s spokesperson confirmed to Fox News that he had Mohs surgery, which is used to treat skin cancer. It’s unclear what type of skin cancer he had. Video featured on Inside Edition Thursday showed Biden leaving a church in Rehoboth Beach over Labor Day weekend with the wound on his head. Biden also appeared frail in the video as he greeted people outside the service Sunday. Doctors found a “small nodule” on Biden’s prostate and other cancer cells during a medical exam — a Stage 4 diagnosis that went undetected by his medical team in the White House. Biden’s longtime physician, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, deemed him “fit to serve” in February 2024 after the then presumptive Democratic nominee underwent a routine examination at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. News of his prostate cancer diagnoses sparked a firestorm of allegations that the erstwhile Biden administration and members of his inner circle knowingly hid his physical and cognitive decline from the American public. The former president is currently undergoing treatment.

National Guard to remain on duty until December. ABC News reported: The Army is extending orders for the Washington, D.C., National Guard to remain on active duty in the nation’s capital through Nov. 30, two U.S. officials told ABC News Thursday. President Donald Trump could still cut the mission shorter than Nov. 30 if desired — or extend the deployment past that date, the officials noted. That essentially leaves the deployment open-ended for now. Army Secretary Dan Driscoll signed off on the plan on Wednesday, enabling Brig. Gen. Leland D. Blanchard II, commanding general of the D.C. National Guard, to update the initial orders. The Nov. 30 plan for the estimated 950 members of the D.C. Guard, which has not been previously reported, does not apply to the other 1,300 troops deployed to D.C. from other states, including Louisiana, Mississippi, Ohio, Tennessee, South Carolina, and West Virginia. Those troops remain under the control of their governors with many of them already under orders to remain through the end of December, one of the officials said. This news comes on the same day that D.C.’s Attorney General filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration over the National Guard’s deployment. CBS News noted: The same day the D.C. National Guard announced the extension of their mission, the district sued the Trump administration over the National Guard’s deployment. D.C. Attorney General Brian Schwalb claimed in the lawsuit that the Trump administration “has run roughshod over a fundamental tenet of American democracy — that the military should not be involved in domestic law enforcement.” A federal judge on Tuesday said the president’s decision in June to deploy Guard troops and Marines to Los Angeles violated the Posse Comitatus Act, a 19th century law that limits the use of the military for domestic purposes. The White House has appealed that ruling. The messages indicate the 46th president orally approved commutations for inmates jailed for crack cocaine offenses on Jan. 11 — but his auto-penned signature wasn’t affixed to three documents listing about 2,500 recipients until the morning of Jan. 17. The debate over who exactly to include in the mass pardons and how to modify their sentences came to a head late on the night of Jan. 16. Then-White House Staff Secretary Stef Feldman, a key gatekeeper of the presidential autopen, wrote to West Wing lawyers she needed evidence Biden had consented before she authorized a mechanical signature on one of the most sweeping acts of clemency in American history. “I’m going to need email from [Deputy Assistant to the President] Rosa [Po] on original chain confirming P[resident] signs off on the specific documents when they are ready,” Feldman wrote to five other Biden aides at 9:16 p.m. Six minutes later, deputy White House counsel Tyeesha Dixon, one of the email recipients, forwarded the message to Michael Posada, chief of staff to the White House counsel’s office. “Michael, thoughts on how to handle this?” Dixon asked, adding in reference to the documents authorizing clemency: “He doesn’t review the warrants.” “Ok talked to Stef,” Posada replied to Dixon at 10:06 p.m. “We will just need something from Rosa once the documents are ready confirming that the 21 people commuted to home confinement are who the president signed off on in the document titled X, and the # individuals listed in document titled Y are those with crack powder disparities who the president intended to commute,” he wrote. “Basically, something from Rosa making clear that the documents accurately reflect his decision. If you can give me a blurb whenever they are ready to suggest to Rosa, I can pass along.” The mass clemency was announced hours later, at 4:59 a.m. The exchange took place well outside of Biden’s known regular working schedule — with White House aides leaking to media outlets months earlier that the Democrat was at his best between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on any given day.
