Trump Cuts Tariffs, China Opens Wallet For U.S. Agriculture

President Donald Trump cut tariffs on China overnight after President Xi Jinping promised to purchase large amounts of farm products from the United States and crack down on fentanyl trafficking.  Trump said the tariff rate on China would be reduced from 57% to 47% after a high-stakes meeting at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in South Korea. In return, he said China promised to purchase American soybeans, sorghum, and other farm products and stop the flow of fentanyl into the United States. “I had a truly great meeting with President Xi of China. There is enormous respect between our two Countries, and that will only be enhanced with what just took place,” Trump posted on Truth Social after the meeting. “We agreed on many things, with others, even of high importance, being very close to resolved.” Trump added that China had agreed to “continue the flow” of rare earth minerals used in products ranging from cell phones to fighter jets. China had been looking to implement strict export controls on the minerals. “Very significantly, China has strongly stated that they will work diligently with us to stop the flow of Fentanyl into our Country. They will help us end the Fentanyl Crisis,” Trump added on Truth Social. “China also agreed that they will begin the process of purchasing American Energy. In fact, a very large scale transaction may take place concerning the purchase of Oil and Gas from the Great State of Alaska.” Join us now during our exclusive Deal of the Decade. He said that Energy Secretary Chris Wright and Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum would look into whether an energy deal was possible.  Trump’s meeting with Xi, which lasted for about an hour and 40 minutes, included Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer, and Susie Wiles, his chief of staff.  “Overall, I guess on the scale of from zero to 10, with 10 being the best, I would say the meeting was a 12,” Trump told reporters about the meeting, adding that he expected a trade deal to be signed “pretty soon.” Bessent told Fox Business on Thursday morning that he expects finalization “as soon as next week.” He also said that China would purchase 25 million metric tons of soybeans over the next three years and 12 million metric tons before the end of the year. Trump is also expected to travel back to China in April to meet with Xi.

Morning Brief: Trump Meets With Xi, Biden Autopen Probe, & A Growing Euthanasia Obsession

President Donald Trump ends his Asia tour with a much-anticipated sit-down with China’s Xi Jinping, a scathing report on Joe Biden’s presidency casts doubt on key executive actions, and Canada’s government is pressured to include minors in its euthanasia program. It’s Thursday, October 30, 2025, and this is the news you need to know to start your day. Today’s edition of the Morning Wire podcast can be heard below, and the video version can be seen on The Daily Wire: Trump V. Xi In South Korea Topline: The eyes of the world turned to South Korea, as President Trump sat down with China’s Xi Jinping for a high-stakes meeting. Trump v. Xi: President Donald Trump cut tariffs on China overnight after President Xi Jinping promised to purchase large amounts of farm products from the United States and crack down on fentanyl trafficking. “We agreed on many things, with others, even of high importance, being very close to resolved.” Join us now during our exclusive Deal of the Decade. Get everything for $7 a month. Not as fans. As fighters. Go to DailyWire.com/Subscribe to join now. Trump added that China had agreed to “continue the flow” of rare earth minerals used in products ranging from cell phones to fighter jets. China had been looking to implement strict export controls on the minerals. The meeting began late Wednesday night by United States time.  Just minutes before the meeting began, President Trump issued a stunning social media post, saying, “Because of other countries testing programs, I have instructed the Department of War to start testing our Nuclear Weapons on an equal basis. That process will begin immediately.” The U.S. has not tested any nuclear weapons for the last 33 years. The timing of that message is no accident. In the last week alone, Vladimir Putin announced that Russia had successfully tested nuclear-powered, nuclear-capable cruise missiles, along with a nuclear-capable torpedo.  North Korea also claims to have conducted missile tests of its own. But this appears to be directed at Xi, who has overseen a historic nuclear buildup in China, growing its arsenal at an alarming pace. Despite that apparent warning, once Trump and Xi met just a few moments later, the two were all smiles, with Trump cracking a joke as they shook hands. Biden Autopen Questions Grow Topline: The House Oversight Committee has recommended that the Justice Department investigate the Biden White House’s use of an autopen to sign official presidential actions. In a 100-page report released this week, Republicans charged Biden staffers with covering up for an increasingly senile president and taking action without his knowledge. Republicans want the DOJ to take a deep look at former President Joe Biden’s use of an autopen because many of the actions Biden took – or appeared to take – may not have been valid. Committee Chairman James Comer asked Attorney General Pam Bondi for a “comprehensive review of all executive actions taken during the Biden presidency.” Comer also asked for special attention to be paid to White House doctor Kevin O’Connor, deputy chief of staff Annie Tomasini, and senior adviser to the first lady Anthony Bernal. They all pleaded the Fifth during the House investigation. Comer v. O’Connor: Comer sent a letter to the D.C. Board of Medicine asking for a review of O’Connor’s work as the chief White House doctor. The report says testimony indicates that O’Connor “may have succumbed to political pressure” and hid Biden’s health decline from the American people. Comer said the medical board should consider whether O’Connor “issu[ed] misleading medical reports, misrepresent[ed] treatments, or [failed] to conform to standards of practice” in violation of D.C. law. If any violations are found, the D.C. Board of Medicine could discipline O’Connor or even revoke his medical license.   Canada’s Growing Euthanasia Movement Topline: Canada’s euthanasia program is rapidly expanding, with some groups calling for minors as young as 12 years old to be included in the government-funded program.  MAiD, or Medical Assistance in Dying, is effectively an euthanasia program funded by the Canadian government. It began in 2016 for people whose natural death was “reasonably foreseeable” and who wanted to end their lives. The program has only expanded since, particularly in 2021, when chronic illness and disability became included as reasons for someone to be euthanized.  Since its inception, more people have undergone these procedures. Thousands of Canadians now do this annually. Efforts to expand MAiD: Advocates want children 12 years and older to have access to MAiD. Current rules state that one must be 18 years old to be considered for this procedure. The general argument is that children need more autonomy in health care, and the MAiD program is supposedly about “compassion.” Advocates also noted that minors can already consent or refuse certain treatments, so permitting this would be consistent. Finally, advocates will point to the Netherlands, where assisted dying for “mature minors” has been legal since 2002. As for consent, one advocacy group called “Dying With Dignity Canada” recommends that minors between 12 and 15 years old have parental permission to be euthanized. It does not recommend that as a requirement for minors aged 16 and 17, however. Morning Wire spoke to Dr. Aaron Kheriaty, a psychiatrist, author, and a director at the Ethics and Public Policy Center, about the euthanasia movement. “Once you cross the line of allowing doctors to kill patients, once you cross the line of accepting the basic premise of the euthanasia movement, which is that some lives are not worth living and therefore these people should be killed by the medical profession, then it’s very hard to argue that there should be any limitations to that,” said Kheriaty. In addition to advocating for minors to be permitted in the program, there is a strong push to include people who suffer solely from mental health issues. That section is set to take effect in 2027. Euthanasia is not legal in the U.S.; however, several states do permit assisted suicide. This is a domestic movement that is worth watching closely and has undoubtedly been influenced by our neighbors up north.

Lions Fan Gives Young Man A Heartwarming Gift

Heather Machemer is a big Detroit Lions fan and attended that game at Ford Field on October 20. The Lions took on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during Monday Night Football. While at the game, Heather noticed some fans nearby who seemed to be really enjoying themselves. But one of the young men didn’t have any Lions gear, instead supporting Detroit with a Pistons jersey. “At the Detroit vs Buccaneers game, this kid walked through our row in a Pistons jersey. We all joked around in a fun way about him being at the wrong game, with us all laughing, including him. He then said he didn’t have a Lions jersey, so he wore that one,” Heather wrote on Instagram. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Heather Machemer (@heathmach) Heather Wanted To Spread Some Cheer To the Detroit Lions Fan He was having fun, no matter what, but what Heather did next made a huge impact. “I said, ‘Who is your favorite Lions player? He said Gibbs and pointed at my shirt, because Gibbs is one of my favorite Lions players too, so I had on a shirt with his face on it,” Heather explained. “I looked at my husband and said, “We have to go buy him a jersey. When we got back to give it to him, I had no idea the lady behind us recorded this exchange. Such a cool moment. Great kids! They had a blast!” Heather’s kindness not only made the special Detroit Lions fan’s day, but she warmed the hearts of plenty of people on social media. “I followed you because I need more beautiful humans like you in my life,” someone wrote. “I felt proud of this moment…because it’s something I would have done!” “This is honestly one of the coolest things ever…. and I’m a Packers fan,” another fan agreed.“Just so nice to see people doing kind things. Fox News Dominates TV Ratings in October

Fox News Channel easily maintained its No. 1 position among cable news rivals and is on pace to finish 2025 as the highest-rated TV network—beating broadcast channels ABC, CBS, and NBC in viewers during weekday primetime. The latest Nielsen Big Data + Panel numbers, released Wednesday, were yet another reminder of Fox News’ dominance. The cable network averaged 3.28 million viewers in primetime, Monday through Friday. That viewership puts Fox News ahead of ABC (3.25 million), CBS (3.09 million) and NBC (3,09 million) for 2025, even though those channels are more widely available to a bigger audience than cable-only networks. Fox News captured 63% of the cable news audience during total day and 64% in primetime. Its five top-rated shows included: “The Five,” its popular 5 p.m. roundtable, which recorded the highest viewership across cable news during October with an average of 3.7 million viewers. “Jesse Watters Primetime,” which airs at 8 p.m. and averaged 3.1 million viewers. “Gutfeld!” averaged 2.8 million viewers during its 10 p.m. broadcast. The show drew 325,000 viewers in the 25-54 age demographic, the highest among Fox News’ programs. “Special Report with Bret Baier,” which competes with broadcast news shows during the 6 p.m. hour, averaged 2.8 million viewers. In some U.S. markets, Baier’s show beat its rivals on ABC, CBS, and NBC. “Hannity,” in the 9 p.m. timeslot, drew 2.6 million on average. “Fox & Friends,” which airs from 6-9 a.m. weekdays, remained atop the ratings as the No. 1 cable news morning program, finishing October with 1.3 million viewers. “Fox & Friends” has maintained the top spot for 56 consecutive months in 25-54 age demographic. On weekends, “Sunday Morning Futures” recorded 1.6 million viewers to beat its cable news competition, while “Saturday in America with Kayleigh McEnany” attracted 1.4 million on average. Fox News was also the No. 1 cable network with Asians, Hispanics, and upscale viewers throughout total day during the month of October. No, ICE isn’t terrorizing innocent families with social media surveillance

A bombshell report came out over the weekend accusing Immigration and Customs Enforcement of surveying millions of Americans’ social media accounts. In what left-wing groups call an “assault on democracy and free speech,” this looks to be a major violation of American rights and freedoms. Or ... maybe their journalistic machine isn’t telling the whole truth. The problemIn the report, the Verge alleges that ICE has partnered with an AI-powered social media monitoring group Zignal Labs to survey the social media posts of everyday Americans as part of an online surveillance system. The platform can scan posts in 100 different languages, analyze photos and videos to pinpoint the precise location they were taken, and even review weather data thanks to a new partnership with NOAA.If you do something illegal and you post it online, you’ve just supplied the evidence to charge your crime. With the power to process up to 8 billion posts per day, the Verge raises serious concerns over Americans’ privacy and free speech, as if the Constitution had suddenly become precious again. And for what? According to Will Owen, the communications director at the Surveillance Technology Oversight Project, the goal is to “terrorize immigrant families” and “target activists fighting back against their abuses.”That sounds terrible, if it were true. Unfortunately for Owen, he’s missing some details. The detailsFor starters, ICE isn’t targeting “immigrant families.” Anyone who’s a legal citizen or in the country under an active visa isn’t under any pressure — or terror — at all. What ICE is looking for are illegal immigrants who have broken our nation’s laws and deserve a one-way ticket back home. Owen’s first claim is incorrect.Second, the “targeted activists” he references are the ‘mostly peaceful’ protesters that have incited violence across the U.S. The most recent attack happened last week, when an anti-ICE protester in a U-Haul truck tried to ram into Coast Guardsmen at a base in Alameda, California. Or maybe you remember the deadly shooting at an ICE facility in Texas? Perhaps I could interest you in the rising tensions in Chicago, or the active calls for violence from former media pundits, or liberals’ outright disregard for law and order relating to ICE in general. These “activists” sound more like rioters, agitators, and criminals than law-abiding citizens who simply wish to exercise their First Amendment rights. Owen just isn’t being honest.RELATED: House Democrats' ICE 'tracker' will 'put our lives in danger': DHS agent Photo by Mathieu Lewis-RollandThe Verge is right about one thing, though: Social media monitoring isn’t a new phenomenon. In fact, social media has been used as a political weapon for years. The Biden administration loved it, in fact. Unlike ICE, which is (allegedly) leveraging social media to bring illegal aliens and criminals to justice, the previous White House and its party apparatus preferred to target regular American citizens. Here are just a few examples:Let’s start with the Twitter Files. Remember when Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) silenced journalists he didn’t like? Then the Biden White House pressured Facebook to censor conservative content, especially posts that questioned the COVID vaccine. The Biden-Harris campaign also ran a deep-state censorship campaign against the American people under the guise of misinformation and disinformation.Biden’s DOJ demanded info on users who interacted with Trump’s Twitter account.President Trump was banned from Twitter amid political pressure. The Biden administration indicted Douglass Mackey for jokingly telling voters to cast their vote for Hillary Clinton via text in the 2016 election. The conviction was later tossed out as saner minds prevailed. And on, and on, and on.The truthBelieve it or not, social media isn’t a private space concealed under lock and key. It’s a public square brimming with comments, photos, videos, and data. When you post online, you willingly put your content in the public eye for all to see, and many groups regularly take advantage of it. Facebook can scan your posts to serve you ads. The large language models powering AI can gobble up your data for better responses. And yes, law enforcement can see illegal activity and charge offenders under the law. It all falls under fair use. That means, if you do something illegal in the public square, there could be consequences. If you post about illegal things, legal repercussions will follow. The same goes for an illegal alien whose crime is simply residing in the country. All it takes is a photo, video, or some piece of information that confirms their location to pursue charges or, in this case, deportation.A final word to the wiseAlthough illegal aliens don’t get to enjoy the same rights as American citizens (that requires citizenship), they do have to follow the same laws. No one — legal, illegal, or otherwise — has the right to commit a crime in a public space in the United States. If you do something illegal and you post it online, you’ve just supplied the evidence to charge your crime. Generally, it’s a good idea to refrain from posting about illegal things if you don’t want to get caught. In the case of an illegal immigrant living in the United States, it’s probably better not to post at all.
