Reading Rainbow Is Back, With Mychal the Librarian Hosting!

News Reading Rainbow Reading Rainbow Is Back, With Mychal the Librarian Hosting! The butterfly is back in the sky; can’t wait to fly twice as high. By Vanessa Armstrong | Published on September 29, 2025 Screenshot: Kidzuko Comment 0 Share New Share Screenshot: Kidzuko Reading Rainbow is the touchstone for many people’s childhoods, a beloved show hosted by LeVar Burton that imbued its young audience a love of reading and telling stories. The PBS show has sadly been off the air since 2009, when it ended its twenty-six-year run. We haven’t had much Reading Rainbow love since, though there was a recent documentary about it. Today, however, we found out the amazing news that the show is coming back! With social media treasure, and Ms. Rachel special guest, Mychal the Librarian hosting! The trailer was released on the official Reading Rainbow YouTube channel as well as the channel of its distributor, Kidzuko, Sony Pictures Television’s YouTube content hub. It shows Mychal hanging out with kids as well as famous people, some of whom read cool stories! Craft-making will also be part of the series, with kiddos creating things like sidewalk libraries. Some of the celebrities highlighted in the trailer include John Legend, Chrissy Teigen, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Gabrielle Union, and Adam DeVine. Everything about this makes me happy! Mychal is the perfect person to take over hosting the show. He’s a positive force on social media, a rare thing these days, and talks about how great it is to be a library kid (and a library grown-up). His motto, for example, is, “Having fun isn’t hard, when you have a library card!” Give him a follow if you aren’t following him already. You’re welcome. It’s not clear yet when new episodes will be available or if they will be available outside of YouTube (the description just says the show will be “available on digital”). While we wait for more wonderful Reading Rainbow-ness, check out the trailer for the new iteration of the show below. Trump Announces Terms of Israel-Palestine Peace Deal, Dependent on Hamas Acceptance

President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced a deal Monday for long-awaited peace in the Middle East.  ‘Israel would have my full backing to finish the job of destroying the threat of Hamas, but I hope that we’re going to have a deal for peace, and if Hamas rejects the deal—which is always possible, they’re the only one left. Everyone else has accepted it—but I have a feeling that we’re going to have a positive answer,” Trump said. “But if not, as you know Bibi, you’d have my full backing to do what you would have to do. ”  If Israel and Hamas both agree to the 20-point proposal, the war will immediately end.  “Israeli forces will withdraw to the agreed upon line to prepare for a hostage release. During this time, all military operations, including aerial and artillery bombardment, will be suspended, and battle lines will remain frozen until conditions are met for the complete staged withdrawal,” the proposal says.  “Within 72 hours of Israel publicly accepting this agreement, all hostages, alive and deceased, will be returned,” the deal continues.  “Everyone understands that the ultimate result must be the elimination of any danger posed in the region, and that danger is caused by Hamas,” Trump said at Monday’s press conference. “The tyranny of terror has to end.”  Under the deal, “Gaza will be a deradicalized terror-free zone that does not pose a threat to its neighbors.”  “Gaza will be redeveloped for the benefit of the people of Gaza, who have suffered more than enough,” the plan states.   Trump slammed Hamas for its reign of terror in Palestine.  “Instead of building a better life for the Palestinians, Hamas diverted resources to build over 400 miles of tunnels and terror infrastructure, rocket production facilities, and hidden military command posts at launch sites in hospital, schools, and mosques, so if you want after them, you’d be after them and you wouldn’t even realize you ended up knocking out a hospital or school or a mosque,” Trump said.  Many Palestinians want to live in peace, Trump said.  “I challenge the Palestinians to take responsibility for their destiny, because that’s what we’re giving them,” Trump said. “We’re giving them responsibility for their destiny by fully condemning and prohibiting terrorism and earning their way to a brighter future. They don’t want the life that they’ve had. They’ve had a rough life with Hamas.”  Upon acceptance of this agreement, full aid will be immediately sent into the Gaza Strip.  “Gaza will be governed under the temporary transitional governance of a technocratic, apolitical Palestinian committee, responsible for delivering the day-to-day running of public services and municipalities for the people in Gaza,” the deal says.  The Trump administration will create an economic development plan to rebuild and energize Gaza.  “Many thoughtful investment proposals and exciting development ideas have been crafted by well-meaning international groups, and will be considered to synthesize the security and governance frameworks to attract and facilitate these investments that will create jobs, opportunity, and hope for future Gaza,” the proposal says.  “What the future holds for the Palestinians, no one really knows, but the plan that we put forward today is focused on ending the war immediately, getting all of our hostages back, getting everything back, and creating conditions for durable Israeli security and Palestinian success,” Trump said.  Going forward, America will establish a dialogue between Israel and the Palestinians to agree on a political horizon for peaceful and prosperous co-existence, according to the proposal. Netanyahu said this is a new beginning for Gaza and the entire region.  “Your plan provides a practical and realistic path forward for Gaza in the coming years, in which Gaza, will be administered, neither by Hamas nor the Palestinian Authority, but by those committed to genuine peace with Israel,” Netanyahu said.  Netanyahu warned that Gaza can do this the easy way, or the hard way.  “But if Hamas rejects your plan, Mr. President, or if they supposedly accept it and then, then basically do everything to counter it, then Israel will finish the job by itself,” the prime minister said. “This can be done the easy way, or it can be done the hard way, but it will be done.” The post Trump Announces Terms of Israel-Palestine Peace Deal, Dependent on Hamas Acceptance  appeared first on The Daily Signal.

Levin to Comey: You ‘Authorized’ the Leak, if You Knew About It and Did Nothing

Constitutional scholar and best-selling Author Mark Levin laid out the questions he’d ask James Comey if he could question him regarding the former FBI director’s indictment on charges of making false statements about whether he “authorized” leaks to the media. Both sides in the case are “hung up” on the technical definition of what it means to “authorize” something, Levin explained in Sunday’s episode of “Life, Liberty and Levin.” But, as Levin noted, the specific language of the statute cited in the case makes “any materially false, fictitious or fraudulent statement or representation” a felony. Comey is charged with obstruction and with making false statements, under oath, to Congress when he denied any involvement in leaks to the press regarding the investigation of General Michael Flynn in 2017. “What the government is alleging here is the statement that Comey made [under oath] referencing his ‘Never ever do I deal with the media or talk to the media, leak to the media or unauthorized information to the media,’” Levin said: “They are saying here that statement was false because James Comey, Jr., then and there, knew he in fact had authorized Person Three to serve as an anonymous source in news reporting regarding the FBI investigation concerning Person One – he knew about it and then subsequently authorized it.” But, regardless of whether or not Comey gave verbal authorization for the leak - either before or after it took place - his refusal to do anything about it is tantamount to authorization, Levin explained: “[If] I'm prosecuting this case - there is a lot to go for, by the way, a lot to use – but I would say to Mr. Comey: “You knew about this? And you didn’t do anything to stop it? Well, then, you authorized it. “Whether you formally authorized it and used the word ‘authorized’ or used the words ‘I authorize it’ the day after, if you knew about it and you did not stop it, isn't that a problem? “And if you knew about it, what did you do about it? Did you punish Mr. McCabe? Did you report Mr. McCabe? Or did you never know about it ever? Did you ever even read the article that has your name in it? Did you read it? It has Mr. McCabe's name in it, too. I read it. “When you read it, what did you say? Did you wonder who leaked it? Did you ask for a leak investigation?” In any case, ‘This isn’t a man who is clean; it just is not,’ Levin noted: “There are many questions that could be asked of Comey that relate to this ‘authorization’ issue. He has a bad history of using memos and the press and using a friend and so forth and so on. “So, when you have people come on and they are saying to you, ‘Oh, the authorization came subsequent, according to McCabe’ – actually, McCabe said more than that. “He said that Comey was aware of it and a subsequent authorization, which seems like kind of weird wording to me.” “But, if the director of the FBI was aware of it, and did nothing about it, then I think it can be impliedly said he authorized it,” Levin concluded.   My opening statement on tonight’s Life, Liberty & Levinhttps://t.co/Q9HsdL9rfE — Mark R. BRAIN MELT: CNN’s Complete Narrative Flip-Flop on Government Shutdowns Is SHAMELESS

BRAIN MELT: CNN’s Complete Narrative Flip-Flop on Government Shutdowns Is SHAMELESS

CNN senior reporter Matt Egan stepped in it again by completely upending the narrative his network has been selling to Americans for years that a government shutdown would be disastrous for the economy. Egan foolishly tried to paint what he caricatured as the potential, horrific effects effects of the ongoing turmoil over government funding as being unique to President Donald Trump’s bureaucratic gutting policies. “Government shutdowns usually don’t hurt the economy. This time could be different,” read Egan’s September 29 shocking headline. Using examples like the 2018-2019 government shutdown, Egan argued that “Whatever economic damage occurs during that time tends to be limited and quickly fixed,” a trend which he claims Trump’s mass firing of federal workers, specifically, could totally reverse. Here’s the problem: CNN has repeatedly stipulated in the past that government shutdowns were terrible, especially when Republicans in the House of Representatives would attempt hardball with the Biden administration and his Democrat cohorts in the Senate over their outrageous spending policies. Now that the onus is on Democrats to quit being stubborn and make a deal with Trump, Egan is now downplaying the effects of government shutdowns writ large and making it appear that any negative effects would effectively be Trump’s fault. On September 28, 2023, Egan himself had a completely different spin on the possibility of a government shutdown: “Analysis: A government shutdown is the last thing the economy needs.” While conceding that short-term shutdown wouldn’t necessarily “wreck the economy,” he argued that if a “shutdown lasts long enough, it could, along with these other headwinds, do some real damage.”  His colleagues also had drastically different takes in the past.  On September 29, 2023, CNN reporters Betsy Klein and Tami Luhby were adamant that should “Congress fail to pass a short-term spending bill to keep the proverbial lights on, a shutdown could have enormous impacts on all Americans, in areas from air travel to clean drinking water.” In addition, Klein and Luhby drummed up fears over the “massive economic implications” that would supposedly transpire for the broader economy. Just a few days prior, CNN economics writer Bryan Mena scare-mongered that a shutdown would “would leave the Fed flying blind.”  In December 2024 during the lame-duck session, CNN reporters Luhby, Klein and Katie Lobosco wrote that “A shutdown would also hurt the economy. Each week it lasts would cost the economy $6 billion and shave 0.1 percentage points off the gross domestic product, or GDP, in the fourth quarter, according to Gregory Daco, EY chief economist.” But Egan, in his latest anti-Trump drivel, did a 180-degree turnaround on that entire narrative:  Normally, the rule of thumb is that each week of a government shutdown trims about 0.2 percentage points from gross domestic product (GDP) – or economic growth. But those losses are quickly reversed as the government reopens. Again, this is a completely different take from the Egan we knew in 2023, who wrote that the “hit to GDP could add up in a lengthy shutdown. And it comes at a time when all of these other wild cards, from the UAW strike, high gas prices and the return of student loan payments, are already weighing on growth.” See the problem? Egan’s only point in bringing this up now in regards to Trump, however, was to ding Trump for supposedly hampering the government's ability to quickly recover lost economic growth, a supposed skill of the federal government he didn’t bother bringing up in his 2023 piece when Republicans controlled the House: “However, permanent layoffs in the federal government would raise the risk of more long-lived effects, forcing investors and economists to rethink the damage to the US economy.” What Egan probably didn’t realize is that he was torpedoing years worth of his network’s past reporting making it seem like government shutdowns writ large were somehow a catalyst for an economic hurricane, usually to slam the GOP.  Now, Egan is trying to isolate the Trump factor and shoehorn it into his argument that cutting government bloat would cause economic tumult.  Sheesh, even a fish would be jealous of CNN's flip-flopping skills.
