Joanna Gaines Clings to Son As They Say Goodbye, Tells Others ‘It Doesn’t Get Any Easier’

Joanna Gaines clings to her son Drake as they say goodbye, telling others, ‘It doesn't get any easier.' It's Drake's second year of college,, and it's the same for many parents. Some are even sending their child to kindergarten for the first time. For me, I'm sending my middle child off to college for the first time. Even though I knew what to expect after sending my firstborn off to college, I know how Joanna feels–man, it is so hard to let go! RELATED: Chip and Joanna Gaines Defend Their Rule About No Social Media for Their Kids Until Age 18 Joanna Gaines Says Goodbye to Son Drake As He Heads Back to College The beloved designer and mother of five recently shared an emotional moment that resonated with parents everywhere. As her oldest son, Drake, headed back to college, Joanna opened up about the heart-wrenching reality of watching him grow up and the bittersweet experience of saying goodbye. In a heartfelt post, Joanna expressed what so many parents feel but often struggle to put into words. The transition from seeing your child every day to only catching glimpses of their life from afar is anything but easy. No matter how many times you go through it, it doesn't seem to get any easier. Joanna wrote, “Second year in college... saying goodbye doesn't get easier. Lots of love to all the parents sending their kids off to school this season," and I don't know about you, but I felt that deep in my heart. RELATED: Joanna Gaines Gets Brutally Honest About Motherhood Joanna is Experiencing Mixed Emotions Like many parents, Joanna is experiencing mixed emotions during this stage of life. She is proud of seeing Drake pursue his dreams and excited about the adventures he's embarking on, but she also feels a deep sense of loss of the way life used to be–all of her little ones at home. The daily routines that once included his laughter, presence, and the simple joys of being together are now moments she must cherish from a distance. This isn't the first time Joanna has opened up about her experiences as a mother. She has always been candid about the joys and challenges of raising her children. But this goodbye felt particularly poignant. As a mother, watching your child grow up is both a privilege and a heartache. It's a journey filled with countless moments of letting go, each one a reminder of the passage of time and the ever-changing nature of life. Joanna's honesty about her feelings serves as a reminder that it's okay to feel the weight of these transitions. It's okay to cry, to miss them, and to wish they were still at home, even as you cheer them on from afar. Parenting is a delicate balance of holding on and letting go, and every goodbye is a testament to the love that makes those moments so hard. RELATED: Joanna Gaines on Today Show Opens up About ‘Being Different' and Dealing with Insecurity Joanna is Drake’s Biggest Supporter As Drake settles into his college life, Joanna will undoubtedly continue to be his biggest supporter, offering encouragement and love from home. And while the goodbyes may never get easier, they are a beautiful reflection of the deep bond they share-a bond that distance and time will never diminish. In moments like these, we're reminded of the words from Ecclesiastes 3:1 "There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens." Joanna and Drake are entering a new season, one that will bring new challenges and joys, but through it all, the love of a mother remains a constant, unshakable force. George Santos Pleads Guilty To Wire Fraud, Identity Theft

Former GOP congressman George Santos pleaded guilty on Monday to wire fraud and aggravated identity theft charges. Santos, who was expelled from the House of Representatives, reached a plea deal with federal prosecutors in New York. “This plea is not just an admission of guilt,” Santos said, according to ABC News. “It’s an acknowledgment that I need to be held accountable like any other American that breaks the law,” he added. Santos is scheduled to be sentenced on February 7th. Santos conceded he was trying to meet the fundraising threshold to qualify for financial help from the National Republican Congressional Committee. Santos also stipulated that he committed other fraud, including charging donor credit cards without authorization and convincing donors to give money by falsely stating the money would be used for TV ads. He also stipulated he stole public money by applying for and receiving unemployment benefits during the pandemic to which he was not entitled. Santos conceded in a statement to the court his actions “betrayed” his constituents and others. In addition to potential prison time, Santos must pay restitution of nearly $374,000 and forfeiture of more than $200,000. Santos faces a sentence of 75-87 months, including a mandatory minimum two-year sentence for aggravated identity theft. He spoke so quickly the judge had to tell him to slow down, CBS News New York’s Alice Gainer reported. He admitted fraudulently using credit cards of at least one other person for his personal benefit, as well as making false statements to the Federal Election Commission. He also admitted to committing wire fraud between Sept-Oct of 2022. In addition to pleading guilty to those crimes, Peace said Santos also admitted to a “litany” of other crimes, “for which the court will hold him accountable at sentencing.” Nassau County DA Anne Donnelly praised the cooperation with federal partners in the prosecution of Santos. “Working together to prosecute a liar, a cheat, and a thief, for that’s what George Santos is, and that’s what his plea of guilty here today proves,” Donnelly said. “It’s clear to me now I allowed ambition to cloud my judgment, leading me to make decisions that were unethical and pleading guilty is a step I never imagined I’d take, but it is a necessary one because it is the right thing to do,” Santos said, according to CBS News.

Kamala Harris Proposes Massive Tax Hike

Kamala Harris Proposes Massive Tax Hike

In a destructive economic policy proposal revealed Monday, Kamala Harris wants to raise the corporate tax rate to 28 percent. According to Fox Business, the current rate is 21 percent. Harris campaign spokesman James Singer said the proposal is “a fiscally responsible way to put money back in the pockets of working people and ensure billionaires and big corporations pay their fair share.” However, the campaign doesn’t understand there won’t be as many jobs available for working-class Americans with such a tax increase. “As President, Kamala Harris will focus on creating an opportunity economy for the middle class that advances their economic security, stability, and dignity,” Singer wrote in an email, according to NBC News. “Giant corporations never pay a tax rate even close to the top corporate tax level. They have way too many exemptions, loopholes, and tax lawyers. But small business DOES pay this rate, and Kamala wants to punish Main St enterprises — even more than she already has!” Steve Cortes wrote. But small business DOES pay this rate, and Kamala wants to punish Main St enterprises — even more than she already has! pic.twitter.com/nOJeKf7PFA — Steve Cortes (@CortesSteve) August 19, 2024 Per NBC News: If enacted, the policy would raise hundreds of billions of dollars, as the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office has projected that 1 percentage point increases in the corporate rate corresponds to about $100 billion over a decade. It would also roll back a big part of former President Donald Trump’s signature legislation in 2017 as president, which slashed the corporate tax rate from 35% to 21%. Trump, meanwhile, recently said he would cut taxes even further if elected president, including on businesses. The move comes as Harris slowly adds details to her governing vision on the week of the Democratic convention, including conveying to critics how she would seek to pay for costly ideas, such as expanding the child tax credit and easing the cost of housing and medical debt. She has not provided a cost estimate of her proposals so far or matched them with pay-fors. This chart I made in 2021 remains relevant. At a 28% federal rate, the U.S. corporate rate would be roughly 32 percent and the second highest in the OECD.https://t.co/JxpBGuZ18J pic.twitter.com/30xcMIZuKL — Kyle Pomerleau (@kpomerleau) August 19, 2024 GREAT WAY TO INCREASE INFLATION“Kamala Harris proposes raising corporate tax rate to 28%” Kamala Harris is proposing to increase the corporate tax rate to 28% from 21% if she wins a November election.https://t.co/32iBIyQZJD — Jim Weed (@JimBobW49) August 19, 2024 Fox Business reports: The U.S. corporate tax rate was 35% when former President Trump, who is now Harris’ main electoral rival for the presidency, and congressional Republicans enacted the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) in 2017. The law lowered the corporate tax rate to 21% while also reducing personal income taxes for most taxpayers. Harris’ proposal aligns with President Biden’s budget proposal for fiscal year 2025 that was released earlier this year and had the corporate tax rate rising to 28%. It also represents a departure from the position Harris adopted in her short-lived 2020 presidential campaign, in which she called for returning the corporate tax rate to its pre-TCJA rate of 35% to help finance her progressive platform. An analysis by the nonpartisan Tax Foundation of the FY2025 Biden-Harris budget proposal found that the higher corporate income tax rate had the most significant negative impact on economic growth and the labor market of the policies put forward. “Raising the corporate income tax rate to 28 percent is the largest driver of the negative effects, reducing long-run GDP by 0.6 percent, the capital stock by 1.1 percent, wages by 0.5 percent, and full-time equivalent jobs by 128,000,” the Tax Foundation wrote.

SUNDOWN JOE: Senile Biden Says Women Have No ‘Electrical Power’ in America

Struggling Joe Biden baffled thousands of Democrats at the DNC in Chicago Monday night when he bizarrely asserted that women have no “electrical power” in the United States. “Women are now without electrical, not, now-withow, eschuze-me… Now without electrical, electoral…” The sundowning is real tonight.
