An avid hiker from Honolulu, Hawaii, was setting out for a five-hour hike with her dog. The cat distribution system placed an obstacle in their path in the form of a tiny black kitten. Hiker Tarzana and her dog tried to ignore the tiny intruder, but it persisted. She allowed her gentle dog to sniff the tiny animal to ensure compatibility, then took decisive action. The little kitten continued the hike with the woman and her dog. They enjoyed scenic overlooks, played along the trail, saw a waterfall, and became a family. That’s how the cat distribution system works. If you interact with or touch a kitten that approaches you, you ARE taking it home. Tarzana picked up the kitten, took it on a hike, and it is now their family. After reaching the waterfalls, the trio headed back. The kitten didn’t want to be in the backpack, so it curled up in the dog’s food bowl instead. The trio takes frequent hikes together, with the kitten getting more comfortable in the backpack. Tarzana’s followers have inquired about harness training for the little feline. Introducing a new sibling to a toddler can be challenging. If the toddler has been an “only” child, they may struggle with sharing their mom. Most parents break the news over time, but that doesn’t always work. She seemed to be looking forward to being a big sister. When the big day arrived, the sibling introduction didn’t exactly go smoothly. The video caption reads: “She’d been so excited to meet her baby brother-talked to my belly every day, helped me get everything ready.” No matter how ready you think they are, they aren’t. Entering the room, the curious toddler slowly walked toward her mom. She held the baby up so she could see him, and Mom said, “It’s your brother.” The other adult female (Grandma, maybe) lifted the toddler onto the bed, facing her mom and new brother. While Mom was holding the toddler’s hand, the big sister said, “Da da.” Image from YouTube. A huge frown appeared on the girl’s face, and she was puckering up for big tears. She dramatically flopped face-first into the comforter on the bed. Mom reached out to comfort her, not quite understanding the problem. At that point, the wailing began, muffled by the comforter. Mom asked the toddler if she wanted to see the sweet baby, and she sobbed, “No.” More wailing. The toddler was completely inconsolable. The sibling introduction was not successful. We’re uncertain why the toddler had that reaction, but it could have been a number of things. Needing a nap, missing Mommy, or simply needing a hug, and Mommy’s arms were full holding the new baby. A Texas mother was arrested for allegedly abusing her 11-year-old autistic son by locking him up in horrific conditions at her mobile home on Homan Street in Baytown.The Baytown Police Department said a police officer was called to the home of 41-year-old Rachel Nicole Blaylock in May and reported the strong smell of fecal matter and the presence of numerous flies.The son reportedly had dried fecal matter under his nails and on his face, arms, and hands. She said the smell was "bad enough she nearly threw up."Blaylock reportedly told the officer that her son had trouble going to the bathroom and would often toss his "poop" in his room and into the hallway.The officer said she saw dried fecal matter on the floor of the home.Blaylock began locking her son in his room after he ran out of the home naked several times. She took the door off his room and replaced it with a screen door so she could keep an eye on him but have him locked away.The officer reported seeing a mattress described as "filthy" and said there was fecal matter on the screen door and in the room.The son reportedly had dried fecal matter under his nails and on his face, arms, and hands. He also suffered from rotting teeth and had dried urine on his legs.The officer recorded Blaylock's response when she told her that her son needed to go to a hospital."I just can't drop everything I'm f**king doing and take him to the hospital so a quack-ass doctor can say, 'Oh, I don't know what's wrong with him,' so we can see another one," she reportedly said.RELATED: Elderly woman beaten to death with a rock — police said they found her daughter 'covered in blood' Police also spoke to the boy's grandmother, who said Blaylock was not a good mother and confirmed many of the accusations of neglect.The boy weighed 46 pounds, according to police, who said a boy of his age should weigh about 88 pounds. Officials said he was placed in foster care.On Oct. 7, police arrested Blaylock and found that she had a cylinder container with contents inside on her belt. She claimed that they were her "baby daddy's ashes," but police said they determined the contents were actually crystal methamphetamine.She was charged with injury to a child as well as possession of methamphetamine.
