Iran Launches Drone Attack On Israel

The Islamic Republic of Iran launched a drone attack against Israel on Saturday in response to Israel killing a top Iranian general who allegedly played a key role in Hamas’ October 7 terrorist attack. “Iran launched an attack against Israel by launching drones‚ four American and Israeli sources told me‚” said Walla correspondent Barak Ravid. Israeli officials said that it will take several hours before the drones are able to reach Israel‚ and given the defensive assets that Israel and the United States have deployed‚ there is a strong likelihood that most‚ if not all‚ drones will be shot down. U.S. officials estimated that 50-75 one-way suicide drones were launched. CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP The attack could become significantly harder to defend if Iran also launches cruise missiles and ballistic missiles. While it could take roughly eight hours for the drones to reach Israel‚ it would only take cruise missiles 2 hours‚ and ballistic missiles would arrive in just several minutes. We will defend ourselves from every threat dispassionately and decisively.” This is a breaking news story; refresh the page for updates.

Man Suspected Of Killing Memphis Cop Was Out Of Jail On Felony Charges

The 18-year-old accused of killing a Tennessee police officer and injuring two others when they were responding to a suspicious vehicle call early Friday morning was out of jail on felony charges at the time of the incident. While responding to the call‚ investigators say Memphis police officer Joseph McKinney was killed by Jaylen Lobley‚ who was in the vehicle and fired out at the officers. The other officers with McKinney returned fire and two were injured by gunfire. One officer was hospitalized in non-critical condition and one received medical attention at the scene of the shooting. Lobley was also killed during the shootout as police took two other suspects into custody as well‚ including a 17-year-old who was in critical condition. Lobley had been released from jail without bond by a Shelby County judge after being hit with weapon and theft felony charges last month‚ according to a report from ABC24. He was facing two counts of motor vehicle theft‚ unlawful possession of a weapon‚ and multiple vandalism charges.  SAY HIS NAME: Officer Joseph McKinney He was gunned down in Memphis‚ TN by a criminal who was arrested just a few weeks earlier for possession of a firearm and was released without bail. You won’t see this story on the MSM. pic.twitter.com/tTTwG5FLDc — Libs of TikTok (@libsoftiktok) April 12‚ 2024 According to the report‚ Lobley was arrested on March 5 for car theft and police found him in possession of a handgun with an illegal modifier. The report said he admitted to police that he had stolen two cars. On March 7‚ a judge allowed him to go free without bond on his own recognizance. ABC24 reported that the judicial commissioner who approved the release was Christopher Ingram. Shelby County District Attorney Steve Mulroy claimed that his office had “strongly argued against lowering the bond” for Lobley‚ “citing the defendant’s danger to the community.” Memphis Police Association President Matt Cunningham ripped into the decision to allow Lobley back on the street. “The suspect in this shooting was released from jail on his own recognizance — he got right back out on the street and armed himself‚ and got into a shooting with an officer who died‚ and he lost his life as well — and that’s tragic‚ too‚” he told NBC News. “If he had been kept in jail‚ he would be alive himself. So that’s the situation here in Shelby County‚ we have to do something about the revolving door at our jail.” CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP Tennessee Governor Bill Lee offered his prayers and support for McKinney’s family on Friday. “Maria &; I are deeply saddened by the death of Memphis Police Officer Joseph McKinney while serving in the line of duty‚” he posted on X. “Our prayers are with Officer McKinney’s family‚ the recovering officers &; the Memphis law enforcement community.” Memphis‚ which has one of the worst murder rates in the United States‚ had nearly 400 homicides in 2023.

Rosie The Riveters Awarded The Congressional Gold Medal More Than 80 Years After End Of WWII

A group of women called “Rosie the Riveters” was given a Congressional Gold Medal for helping the United States find victory during WWII. The women who attended the ceremony at the U.S. Capitol were among the five million who went to work to build bombs and other equipment at home while most of the able-bodied men fought overseas. “These are the invisible warriors on the home front‚” House Speaker Mike Johnson said on Wednesday‚ April 10. View this post on Instagram A post shared by TODAY (@todayshow) In total‚ 27 women in their 90s to 106 attended the ceremony wearing red and white polka-dotted attire‚ much like the war-time recruiting graphics that donned the iconic slogan‚ “We can do it&;#33;” Rosie the Riveters flew into D.C. and were met with with a water cannon salute‚ according to NPR. “This recognition is long overdue‚” said Republican Sen. Susan Collins‚ of Maine. “But today‚ Congress finally bestows this honor on these deserving patriots.” Rosie The Riveters Were “Invisible Warriors” Lucille “Cille” MacDonald was one of the Rosies who spoke during the ceremony. She was 17 when the U.S. entered WWII. After hearing about Pearl Harbor‚ she left her family’s South Carolina farm and took a bus to Brunswick‚ Georgia where she became a journeyman welder. “That’s when I said‚ ‘Do something about it. Just do something about it. Stop worrying and do something about it‚'” Lucille said‚ via ABC News. “So I became very patriotic and very much in love with my country.” “I was the best welder in the entire shipyard‚” she continued. “I can’t forget that. I can’t ever forget that. The best‚ and boy that’s saying a lot. And I launched one huge ship a week. In just a week. I mean‚ imagine. You know how big a ship is&;#63; A ship is huge.” Following WWII‚ service members returned home and once again filled the job women had taken over. Most of the Rosie the Riveters went back to their more traditional lifestyles‚ but their work remains a societal turning point. “These women fought for double victory‚ really‚ when you think about it‚” said Mike Johnson. ” It was a victory from tyranny‚ but it was also a victory from prejudice. Because although they were now welcome at our voting booths‚ they were not yet welcome on the usual assembly lines. That all changed because of these Rosies.” You can find the source of this story’s featured image here. Cat Comes Up to Family and Makes a Plea They Cannot Refuse After His Days as a Forgotten Stray

A cat came up to a family and made a plea they couldn't refuse after his days as a forgotten stray. GingerbreadStray Cat ClubA team of volunteers from Stray Cat Club worked tirelessly to rescue a colony of abandoned cats‚ pulling them off the streets and into foster homes.Among them‚ a cat named Gingerbread stayed in the background‚ keeping his distance‚ but his eyes betrayed a desire for affection. &;quot; He came from an abandoned traveler's site that had upped and moved and left all the cats‚&;quot; Stray Cat Club shared with Love Meow. One after another‚ Gingerbread watched other &;quot;forgotten&;quot; cats get scooped up by rescuers. He mustered the courage to come out of the shadows and seek affection. He came from a colony of abandoned catsStray Cat ClubBy the time all the other cats were in foster care‚ he was the last remaining stray yet to be rescued. With the weather getting colder‚ a volunteer jumped at the chance to foster him.By then‚ Gingerbread was rough around the edges and showed signs of a kitty cold. Bewildered by the drastic change from the streets to a home‚ he hid under the bed for the first few days‚ trying to stay out of sight. Gingerbread came out from hiding in his foster homeStray Cat ClubHis foster family offered a relaxing space‚ their gentle presence‚ and all the time he needed for his guard to fade.On the fourth day‚ he broke through his shyness and emerged to explore his surroundings. A few ear scratches put him at ease‚ switched on his purr engine‚ and reassured him that he was safe. The moment he realized he was safeStray Cat ClubWhile Gingerbread kneaded gently on his carer's legs‚ his love unfurled like a beautiful flower. &;quot; He came out of his shell to be the loveliest cat. He has the loudest purr.&;quot; His foster family planned to continue socializing him‚ nurture him to tip-top shape‚ and eventually find him a loving home. But Gingerbread had other ideas in mind. Stray Cat ClubOver the following days‚ Gingerbread discovered the fun of toys‚ the joy of walking on soft carpets‚ and the comfort of sleeping on a warm lap.He began to spend ample time snuggling with his foster carer to be nourished by love. He started playing with toys and enjoyed the soft carpetStray Cat ClubWhen Gingerbread was due for a dental procedure‚ nearly all his teeth were extracted‚ but he came home feeling much better.&;quot;Life as a stray meant an inconsistent diet; sometimes there was food‚ other times there wasn't. Although we don't know what he has lived and seen‚ his teeth speak a lot about his past as they were all cracked and damaged.&;quot; He loved cuddling with his foster carer more than anything in the worldStray Cat ClubGingerbread may be nearly toothless now‚ but he's gained a spring in his step‚ a zest for life‚ as he no longer lives with pain or struggles to eat.He likes to rest his paw on his people or weave himself around them when they lounge on the couch. He held hands with his people when he nappedStray Cat ClubHe is the first thing they wake up to in the morning‚ the constant snuggle buddy throughout the day‚ and the purr machine that puts them to sleep at night. From the moment Gingerbread came out of his shell‚ he knew he was right where he was meant to be. He knew he was where he was meant to beStray Cat ClubHe became their ever-present shadow and burrowed his way deep into their hearts.&;quot; We are happy to say that he has been adopted by his fosterer‚ who cannot bear to part with him‚&;quot; the rescue shared. Gingerbread has found his forever home with his foster familyStray Cat Club&;quot; This lovely boy will continue to want for nothing and have the bestest life.&;quot; Stray Cat ClubShare this story with your friends.
