Who's Fact-Checking Whoopi Goldberg on Republicans Wanting to Bring Back Slavery&;#63;

The headline at The Daily Caller read:  Whoopi Goldberg Says Republicans ‘Want To Bring Slavery Back’ Some version of that headline and Whoopi’s remark on ABC’s The View was all over the media world on Wednesday. The Daily Caller version reported this:   The View co-host Whoopi Goldberg said Wednesday that Republicans “want to bring slavery back” as she raged against Arizona’s reinstatement of an 1864 abortion ban.  ABC News's Whoopi Goldberg openly claims‚ without evidence‚ that Republicans &;quot;want to bring slavery back&;quot; She goes on to demand progressive-activist justices on the Supreme Court: &;quot;One of the good things about the Supreme Court is you can fight to make sure you make stuff better&;quot; pic.twitter.com/Bq0kT33ATG — Nicholas Fondacaro (@NickFondacaro) April 10‚ 2024 Who will fact-check her on this crazy claim&;#63; Whoopi seems to be utterly unaware (or deliberately ignores) that support for slavery in the day came not from Republicans - whose party was formed in 1854 to oppose the expansion of slavery. History records that it was‚ in fact‚ slave-holding Democrats who founded the Democratic Party. And obviously‚ Whoopi is unaware that  the Democratic Party‚ writing in its first 6 platforms‚ staunchly supported slavery. Not to mention its Members of Congress opposed the passage of the 13th Amendment -- which abolished slavery. It was the GOP that ended slavery over the objections of the ardently pro-slavery Democrats. And oh yes‚ the number of Democratic presidents who owned slaves&;#63; There were seven from 1800-1861. And since Whoopi tied the subject of slavery to abortion‚ a reminder that the founder of the pro-abortion Planned Parenthood was one Margaret Sanger. It was Sanger whose notoriously deep-seated racism was a pillar of her support for abortion. Her objective was to use abortion to thin out the inferior populations. Black women account for 38 percent of abortions. Isn’t it past time for Whoopi and others in the media to press the Democratic Party for its apology in supporting slavery&;#63; Periodically a call goes up for reparations -- but curiously the call is never directed at the Democratic Party which was‚ as said‚ responsible for supporting slavery and making it a matter of government policy upon winning elections -- six times in a row -- on a platform of enslaving black Americans. Fact&;#63; Misleading or gaslighting Americans is the modus operandi of the liberal media.  As the Whoopi story made the rounds‚ so too did this story from NPR’s Uri Berliner. Berliner’s piece over at The Free Press was headlined:  I’ve Been at NPR for 25 Years. Here’s How We Lost America’s Trust. Uri Berliner‚ a veteran at the public radio institution‚ says the network lost its way when it started telling listeners how to think. Berliner goes on to say:  An open-minded spirit no longer exists within NPR‚ and now‚ predictably‚ we don’t have an audience that reflects America. His point was clear: There was no viewpoint diversity at NPR. The goal every hour of the NPR broadcast day was to push the progressive world view. They're not alone. Berliner admitted this isn't just a problem at NPR. As if to reinforce Berliner’s point‚ in the Washington Post the other day was this already noxious headline about the shooting by Chicago police of a 26-year old black man named Dexter Reed.  It took a full eight paragraphs‚ deep inside the story‚ for the Post to report:  COPA (Chicago Police) said its review of the footage and initial reports “appear to confirm that Mr. Reed fired first‚” hitting one officer while four others returned fire. Which is to say‚ this is an admission that directly contradicts the impression given in the headline that police singled out a car with a lone young black man at the wheel‚ stopped him on the pretense of not having his seat belt connected - and‚ unprovoked‚ shot him to death in a hail of 96 bullets.  In other words‚ the Post wasn’t interested in the truth and the facts. The Post‚ like those at NPR‚ are only interested in pushing the progressive world view. In this case that view being that police target young black men. So gaslighting is the order of the day. Which brings us back to Whoopi Goldberg on The View. Simply put‚ Whoopi‚ like the NPR crowd and that Washington Post headline‚ was gaslighting her audience. In Whoopi’s case leaving the impression that Republicans “want to bring slavery back” because‚ of course‚ Republicans had supported slavery in the first place. When‚ of course‚ the truth is exactly the opposite. Worse‚ not only did the Democrats repeatedly support slavery and oppose abolishing it‚ but in today’s world the party somehow can’t find it in themselves to apologize for it. No one in the pro-Biden media will ask for it. Will Whoopi take to The View to ask the Democrats and party leader President Joe Biden to apologize to black Americans for the party’s repeated support of slavery&;#63; Don’t wait up.

No‚ Symone&;#33; A Third-Party Candidate Won't Deprive Biden or Trump of 270 Electoral Votes

No‚ Symone&;#33; A Third-Party Candidate Won't Deprive Biden or Trump of 270 Electoral Votes

I don't mean to pick on Symone Sanders Townsend. But for the second time in as many weeks‚ the co-anchor of MSNBC's The Weekend has exposed a disturbing knowledge deficit. Last week‚ we caught Symone accusing Donald Trump‚ in his inaugural address‚ of &;quot;promising carnage.&;quot; In fact‚ he promised to &;quot;stop&;quot; carnage‚ of the sort that keeps &;quot;mothers and children trapped in poverty in our inner cities.&;quot; Today‚ in a segment devoted to trashing third-party candidates because of the likelihood that they would take votes from Biden‚ Sanders revealed her unfamiliarity with the way that Electoral College votes are awarded. Sanders: &;quot;I think now more than any of our past recent elections‚ that third-party candidates are a true‚ true threat to Joe Biden‚ but also to 270‚ period. Our Constitution says‚ to be the President of the United States‚ you have to win 270 Electoral College votes. Not 269‚ not that majority rules all . . . Now‚ what if Joe Biden is denied 270&;#63; Or Donald Trump&;#63; Well‚ according to the 12th Amendment‚ the House gets to pick who the president is.&;quot;  What Sanders fails to grasp is that in every state but Nebraska and Maine‚ whoever wins a plurality of the popular vote wins all of the state's Electoral College votes. So even if a third-party candidate denied either Trump or Biden an outright majority in a given state [or in one of Nebraska or Maine's electoral districts]‚ so long as either Trump or Biden got more votes than any other candidate‚ they'd get all of the state's electoral votes [or the electoral vote in the Nebraska or Maine district.] Thus‚ the only way that Sanders' nightmare scenario could come to pass would be if one of the third-party candidates actually won a state‚ or one of Nebraska or Maine's districts. And not even the most fevered conspiracy-mongers have suggested that RFK‚ Jr.‚ let alone Cornel West or Jill Stein‚ have any hope of pulling off such a miracle. So Symone can sleep easy. But before next week's show‚ it would truly behoove her to study up on the topics at hand&;#33; Note: Steele told Symone that there wouldn't be a problem &;quot;if the Democrats win the House in November.&;quot; That's not necessarily true. Per the 12th Amendment‚ &;quot;Rather than voting individually‚ House members vote as state delegations. Each state delegation gets a single vote‚ and a candidate becomes president with the support of a majority (26) of state delegations.&;quot; So‚ even if in November Democrats won a majority of House seats‚ it's possible that Republicans would have the majority in more state delegations‚ and thus could have the power to elect the president. It's called a &;quot;contingent election.&;quot; Here's the transcript. MSNBC The Weekend 4/13/24 8:19 am EDT JOE WALSH: [Third-party candidates are] so dangerous. MICHAEL STEELE: And it's just‚ if enough of those people to go to that place‚ to their happy place‚ where they can‚ where they think that that vote is going to do what&;#63; SYMONE SANDERS TOWNSEND: Let me say this. Because I think that there is a‚ I think now more than any of our past recent elections‚ that third-party candidates are a true‚ true threat to Joe Biden‚ but also to 270‚ period.  Our Constitution says‚ to be the President of the United States‚ you have to win 270 Electoral College votes. Not 269‚ not that majority rules all. Now‚ the ballot access matters here‚ okay. So‚ RFK‚ Jr.‚ Dr. West‚ Jill Stein. What does the ballot access program look like&;#63; RFK‚ Jr. is someone who is definitely -- STEELE: He's on one state right now.  SANDERS TOWNSEND: He just gained ballot access in North Carolina.  STEELE: So it's two states. SANDERS TOWNSEND: Two. And that is a -- that's an issue. Because the margins matter here. Now‚ what if Joe Biden is denied 270&;#63; Or Donald Trump&;#63;  STEELE: It goes to the House. SANDERS TOWNSEND: Well‚ according to the 12th Amendment‚ the House gets to pick who the president is. I just watched that episode of Scandal the other day. STEELE: Which version of the House&;#63; Is it the existing House or is the new House that is sworn in&;#63; SANDERS TOWNSEND: It is the‚ tt is the new House. STEELE: So if the Democrats win the House in November‚ you don't have a problem. SANDERS TOWNSEND: Well‚ that means people have to vote down ballot. STEELE: Well‚ there you go.

California engineering student falls to his death from a 120-foot waterfall while hiking through Big Sur

A 21-year-old student reportedly fell to his death from a 120-foot waterfall while hiking along Big Sur in California‚ according to the Daily Mail. The student was studying mechanical engineering at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Kenneth Taylor‚ who was a burgeoning wildlife photographer‚ was discovered dead at the bottom of the Salm Creek waterfall on Saturday evening around 7:45 p.m. It's believed Taylor slipped and fell from the top of the waterfall. The authorities found him &;quot;in a pool at the base of the waterfall‚&;quot; according to The Tribune.The authorities said no foul play was suspected.Reports said Taylor was known to be an experienced hiker having previously served as a trip leader for ASI Poly Escapes‚ an outdoor clothing and equipment shop. Store staff described him as &;quot;a person of incredible technical skill and even more incredible kindness‚ unmatched wittiness and a passion for adventure that could inspire anyone.&;quot;The Daily Mail reported that Kenneth Bevens‚ Taylor's friend‚ said Taylor was out on a hiking trip in Big Sur at the time of his death but had been expected to attend an event that night celebrating the outdoor community.&;quot;He would have loved it&;#33;&;quot; Bevens said. &;quot;The hammocks‚ the photos‚ the music‚ the oceanview‚ and all the love. When I was taking photos‚ I could practically feel his beaming energy and positivity&;#33;&;quot;Bevens and Taylor were so close that they were named &;quot;Kenneth squared‚&;quot; with shared interests in photography and the outdoors.&;quot;I loved talking to him and hearing his laugh. He was so incredibly kind‚ enthusiastic‚ smart and gave 110% of himself to everything he did and everyone he met‚&;quot; Bevens said on Instagram. &;quot;Kenneth felt tremendously loved and helped others feel the same.&;quot; See on Instagram &;quot;Over the years‚ we introduced friends to each other‚ we hiked Madonna together (I was dressed as Santa)‚ played racquetball together‚ kayaked together‚ got WFAs together‚ and always inspired each other. I loved talking to him and hearing his laugh. He was so incredibly kind‚ enthusiastic‚ smart‚ and gave 110% of himself to everything he did and everyone he met‚&;quot; Bevens continued. &;quot;Kenneth felt tremendously loved and helped others feel the same. Even writing or hearing my name feels a little strange now‚ because it’s also his name‚ missing his piece. We felt intertwined in that way‚ but his story isn’t over. That love &; enthusiasm he brought has engraved itself in everyone he came across‚ including me. RFK Jr. discloses what Elon Musk told him about the Twitter files

When Elon Musk bought Twitter‚ he found millions of documents that showed collusion between the White House and Twitter employees to censor Americans. These became known as the Twitter files. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was one American specifically targeted in those documents. “The government put pressure on a corporation to silence you. That is‚ by most legal standards‚ that would be a violation of the First Amendment‚” Dave Rubin says. Rather than ignoring them‚ Musk then invited investigative journalists like Matt Taibi to do whatever they wanted with the documents. “His lawyers were just screaming‚ ‘You can’t do that‚’ and I will always love Elon because he did that. It was such a bold‚ brazen move‚” Robert F. Kennedy Jr. tells Dave Rubin before sharing what Musk had told him after. “I asked him‚ why’d you do that‚ and he said‚ ‘Look‚ I grew up in South Africa. I moved here‚ and I moved here partially because of the First Amendment because I love the freedom of this country‚’” RFK explained. “‘I’m a citizen of this country now. I have a lot of money. I could buy houses all over the world. I don’t. Everything I own is here‚ and I want this country to be what it’s supposed to be‚’” RFK continues‚ recalling what Elon had told him. “It was a very extraordinary conversation‚” he says‚ adding‚ “in this country‚ Elon is at this point standing up for free speech‚ and I think that’s great.” Want more from Dave Rubin&;#63;To enjoy more honest conversations‚ free speech‚ and big ideas with Dave Rubin‚ subscribe to BlazeTV — the largest multi-platform network of voices who love America‚ defend the Constitution‚ and live the American dream.

'You had to be talented': Michael J. Fox says it was harder to be 'famous' in the 1980s than it is now

Michael J. Fox‚ known for his legendary role in the &;quot;Back to the Future&;quot; franchise‚ didn't have the kindest words for today's so-called &;quot;famous&;quot; personalities. He not only suggested that the nature of fame had changed‚ but that it has changed for the worse. The Hollywood Reporter sat down with the actor to ask him his thoughts about the way acting and fame have changed since the 1980s.“There’s an expression I referred to when they gave me an honorary Academy Award — somebody said to me the day before‚ they were talking about getting this award and being famous and they said ‘You’re ‘80s famous‚’” Fox recalled. “I thought‚ wow‚ that’s cool. ‘80s famous. Right‚ we were different.”Fox starred in several 1980s flicks‚ including &;quot;Palmerstown U.S.A.‚&;quot; &;quot;Night Court‚&;quot; &;quot;Family Ties‚&;quot; and‚ of course‚ the &;quot;Back to the Future&;quot; franchise.He went on to say that actors were &;quot;tougher&;quot; in the 1980s‚ adding that &;quot;we didn't have social media‚ we didn't have any of that crap. We were just famous. Left to our own resources. And it was an amazing time.&;quot;When asked if he believed it was more difficult to be famous back then than it is now‚ he said: &;quot;Well‚ you had to be talented [back then]. That helped.&;quot;“We used to bust our ass‚ our acting muscles and watch other actors and sit around with other actors and talk about acting and talk about it‚” Fox said. “And now you’ve got people who just go like‚ who’s your sweater&;#63; What’s your sweater you’re wearing&;#63; And what’s that dance step&;#63; And you’re the most famous person in the world.” Fox appeared to be referring to Instagram culture‚ where people go viral for reasons beyond talent or ability.Fox was forced to step back from onscreen work in 2020 after opening up about his struggles with his memory and recalling lines of dialogue due to his ongoing battle with Parkinson's disease. However‚ the actor said he wouldn't be opposed to making a comeback on the big screen if &;quot;something came up that I could put my realities into it — my challenges — if I could figure it out.”Deadline reported Fox said his &;quot;goals are always shifting. My biggest goal‚ I think‚ was to raise a family. We have four amazing kids‚ and that’s been the big thing‚” said Fox‚ who has been married to Tracy Pollan since 1988. “And then the other is with the work we’ve done with the foundation and wanting to achieve those goals.”Despite his shifting goals‚ it remains to be seen if Fox will appear on the big screen again. Jewish gay teen's rendezvous with man he wanted 'legendary' sex with ended with him being stabbed to death by neo-Nazi homophobe: Prosecutor

It has been more than six years since Blaze Bernstein was found stabbed to death in a shallow grave‚ but his alleged killer has avoided a trial until now. Samuel Woodward is an alleged neo-Nazi and homophobe accused of murdering a Jewish gay teen from California who wanted to have &;quot;legendary&;quot; sex with him. Bernstein had &;quot;super-liked&;quot; Woodward on the Tinder dating app in June of 2017‚ to which Woodward liked him in return. Bernstein messaged him‚ &;quot;Wait‚ Sam Woodward&;#63;&;#63; Is that you&;#63;&;#63;&;quot;Bernstein was allegedly surprised to see his classmate on the dating app seeking a relationship with another man‚ and even shared a screenshot of Woodward's profile to two friends from their high school alma mater – Orange County School of the Arts. Bernstein allegedly told one friend that having sex with Woodward would be &;quot;legendary.&;quot; &;quot;I need to get [expletive] by Sam Woodward‚ it would be legendary‚” Bernstein wrote to his friend‚ according to the New York Post. Bernstein reportedly believed that Woodward was a closeted homosexual‚ and allegedly told friends‚ &;quot;We all knew it.&;quot;Woodward initially told Bernstein that he was on Tinder looking for intimate relationships with black women and for guys to go deer hunting with him. Woodward allegedly said he only matched with Bernstein to catch up.Bernstein‚ a 19-year-old sophomore at the University of Pennsylvania at the time‚ reportedly told Woodward that he was cute. Woodward‚ then age 20‚ purportedly told Bernstein‚ &;quot;You’re not too shabby looking yourself.&;quot;According to court documents‚ Bernstein informed Woodward that he was back home working on a birthday gift for a friend. When Woodward allegedly offered to come over and help him‚ Bernstein said it wouldn't work out because his family was home. Forward reported that Bernstein asked Woodward about his sexual preferences‚ but he replied that he had been &;quot;kinda dishonest‚&;quot; and that he was just curious about how Bernstein would respond if he said he was attracted to him. Woodward reportedly ended the match on Tinder. The pair matched on Tinder six months later. Woodward allegedly apologized to Bernstein‚ and said that he had been &;quot;going through a weird time&;quot; in his life and hinted at a possible drug addiction‚ but stressed that he was better now. Bernstein said he was not concerned about Woodward's past issues. Bernstein noted that Woodward was straight‚ to which he reportedly replied: &;quot;I might make an exception for you.”Bernstein was allegedly skeptical and retorted‚ &;quot;We have already done this prank‚ remember.&;quot;The duo began having a conversation on the Snapchat app‚ where Bernstein reportedly gave Woodward his parents' home address and they decided to meet up. According to court docs‚ Woodward picked up Bernstein in his car and the pair went to Borrego Park in Lake Forest outside Los Angeles.Bernstein reportedly messaged his friend at 11:36 p.m. on Jan. 2‚ 2018‚ that read: &;quot;I did something really horrible for the story.&;quot;A few seconds later he added‚ &;quot;But also no one can ever know.&;quot;However‚ Bernstein never replied to his friend's concerned text to his cryptic message. The next day‚ Bernstein missed a dentist appointment. His parents found his glasses‚ wallet‚ and credit cards in his bedroom‚ which prompted them to try to contact him‚ but he didn't respond to their texts or calls. Bernstein's father reportedly discovered messages between his son and Woodward on Snapchat. The concerned father messaged Woodward about his son.Prosecutor Jennifer Walker told the court that Woodward told the father and police that Bernstein had gone to meet another friend at the park‚ but did not name the person.Days later‚ Bernstein’s body was found in a shallow grave in Borrego Park. According to the prosecutor‚ the teen had been stabbed 28 times – mostly in the face and neck. Police carried out a search on Woodward's family home in Newport Beach – where they discovered a folding knife with blood on the blade and DNA on the handle that matched Bernstein.Law enforcement also found a black Atomrwaffen mask spattered with blood and a cache of homophobic and anti-semitic materials.During the trial in Santa Ana that began on Tuesday‚ Walker accused Woodward of joining Atomwaffen Division – a violent‚ homophobic‚ and anti-semitic group.Investigators allegedly found emails that Woodward had sent to himself that Walker described as a &;quot;hate diary.&;quot; He reportedly expressed hatred for gay and Jewish people. In the emails‚ Woodward allegedly admitted targeting gay men online. The prosecutor argued Woodward &;quot;killed Blaze Bernstein because he was gay.&;quot;Woodward was arrested two days after the bloody blade was found in his room.Woodward had dodged trial for years by claiming that he couldn't stand trial because of his mental state. In late 2022‚ Woodward was deemed competent to stand trial. Woodward pleaded not guilty to murder with an enhancement for a hate crime.Woodward’s defense attorney Ken Morrison contended‚ &;quot;We agree the evidence will show that Samuel Woodward is guilty of homicide.&;quot; However‚ Morrison also told jurors‚ &;quot;What happened that night‚ plain and simple‚ was not a hate crime.&;quot;Like Blaze News&;#63; Bypass the censors‚ sign up for our newsletters‚ and get stories like this direct to your inbox.
