August 13, 2024 Are You Ready To Embrace Your New Beginning?TRACIE MILES Lee en español "But forget all that-it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it?" Isaiah 43:18-19c (NLT) Standing on the cracked sidewalk in front of the dilapidated 1940s home I had just purchased, I could feel the weight of the project settling in. The ceilings were cracked, the floors were not level, and the smudged kitchen cabinets were falling off the hinges. Some windows were broken, others were boarded up, and as for the bathrooms ... let's just say "yuck." Yet I could see its potential. I had a vision of what I knew this little house could become. So as my heart fluttered with a mix of excitement and trepidation, I whispered a prayer: God, guide me through this journey. In that moment, I recalled how God shapes and molds us, seeing the potential He has placed within us, stripping away the old to make way for the new. I thought of all the ways I've seen Him do this for me. Isaiah 43:18-19c kept echoing in my mind: "But forget all that-it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it?" Over the next few weeks and months, my friend and I rolled up our sleeves and got to work: demolishing walls, ripping up floors, and gutting the bathrooms and kitchen. With each step, transformation was taking place. Slowly, the house began to change. New walls were erected, cabinets and counters created new functionality, fresh paint brightened everything, clean windows brought in sunlight, and modern fixtures brought life to once dreary spaces. It was hard work, but I found joy in the process, each task echoing the journey of spiritual growth and transformation. And the day finally came when ... there stood the house in all her cuteness. What was once broken and neglected, with an uncertain future, was now a testament to hard work, vision and faith. Transformed from the inside out. A new beginning. As I looked around the house, I felt a deep sense of fulfillment. It was not just a project: It stood as a symbol of hope, renewal, and the incredible things that can happen when we see beyond the mess and trust in the future God has prepared. If your heart longs for a fresh start, a new beginning, you don’t have to let fear and doubt paralyze you. Invite God to begin His transformation process in you, and then invest in yourself and your new future, rolling up your sleeves and getting to work however He calls you. No matter what you've experienced or where you are right now, God sees your potential. He is the Visionary who will give you a brand-new beginning. Lord, I don't like starting over. It's scary and uncomfortable. But help me transform my perspective so I can stop feeling like I'm starting over and can instead view my new season as a fresh start, a place where anything is possible and where You will be by my side. A Prayer for Overcoming Doubts and Embracing FaithBy Emma Danzey  "But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind." – James 1:6 Doubt causes us to feel unsteady and shoved around by questions from ourselves and others. It can feel suffocating when we wrestle with constant disbelief. Whether we are in college with professors who chastise us for having faith in Christ and the Bible, working with co-workers who question our beliefs or are going through a trial season, doubts are natural and come to us in this broken world. When we think back to the first sin of mankind, the serpent caused Eve to doubt her Creator God. Satan said, "Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden'?" (Genesis 3:1b) A lie that is planted in our thoughts without taking it to the Lord can lead to doubt if we are not careful. Eve could have gone to Adam, who was with her, or she could have gone straight to God to ask Him about it before making her decision. However, she chose to trust the lie and buy into the doubts. How many of our own decisions could be different if we took a pause to ask the Holy Spirit about it? The Lord is not angry with us if we have doubts, He invites us to bring them to Him. He wants to hear our concerns, questions, and fears. In turn, He desires to provide great faith to us by His Spirit. Whether it is a big doubt or a small doubt, we can bring our thoughts to Him. It is better to acknowledge a doubt than to let it sit unnoticed. Today as we pray about overcoming our doubts and embracing faith, may we remember that Christ cares about our every concern. He loves us and He is able to do more than we could ever ask or imagine by His power. Let us believe Him at His Word today. Let’s pray: Dear Lord, Today, we recognize that we struggle just like Eve with questioning who You are and what You have said. I acknowledge personally that today I have doubts about ___________________. You have better for me than to live in a state of being frozen in uncertainty. Help me to overcome these doubts and embrace faith. You tell us in Your Word that faith can move a mountain. (Matthew 17:20) You teach us that faith without works is dead. (James 2:14-26) You remind us that faith is a fruit of the Spirit that we all have access to through Jesus. (Galatians 5:22-23)  Help us to lean not on our understanding but to trust in You, knowing that You will make our paths straight. Doubt holds us back and we realize that you want to propel us forward, but we need to pause and come to You with our questions. Forgive us for not coming to You when we wrestle or struggle. Our hearts long to be connected with You and strengthened by You. However, our fears and doubts hold us back from living the lives of confidence and peace that You desire for us. We confess that living in our doubts can be easier and more appealing than doing the work of pouring our hearts out to You and depending on You instead of our own strength. Remind us of Your great power. Cast out all fear, open our eyes to blind spots, and reveal the truth with Your Word. We know that You are trustworthy, capable, sovereign, and personal. You care for our every need. You know our every doubt. Nothing surprises you. Help us to truly believe You. Thank You for reminding us that we are more than conquerors through You (Romans 8:31-39). When the enemy wants us to feel too far gone or too doubtful to be used for the glory of God, may we remember that You came and died for our doubts so that we could live in freedom. Help us to remember that Thomas, who doubted, was one of Your disciples and closest friends, and he followed You in the midst of his doubts. We, too, can live out faith by Your power, even when we do not have it in ourselves.In full confidence in Your name, we pray Jesus, Amen. The Regime Media continue to do the bidding of their new figurehead, Vice President Kamala Harris, by enabling her lack of press conferences and interviews, fawning over her “momentum”, and continuing to ignore the ongoing scandal surrounding her Democrat running mate Gov. Tim Walz’s military service and subsequent embellishments. ABC, in firm possession of the title of “Most Harris-sycophantic News Division” now that President Joe Biden is out of the picture, is most emblematic of the media boot-licking on egregious display. A sample, from Senior White House correspondent Selina Wang: SELINA WANG: Tonight, new battleground polling shows a radically changed race for The White House, with 85 days to go. Vice President Kamala Harris now leading former President Donald Trump in three crucial Rust Belt States, states where Trump and President Biden were virtually tied, with Trump having the edge. Now in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin, Harris leading Trump among likely voters 50 to 46%, within the margin of error. Harris and running mate Minnesota Governor Tim Walz fresh off their first week together, blitzing the battle grounds. KAMALA HARRIS: We have the momentum and I know exactly what we are up against. This is how the report opened after a 35 second-long frame by anchor David Muir, who makes certain to get his talking points in before going to the correspondent du jour. Tonight was about ramming home the perception of Harris’s momentum, in conjunction with New York Times polling showing her ahead in several swing states.  CBS’s Robert Costa also engaged in this puffery: ROBERT COSTA: Trump allies tell CBS News that he is now seeking to counter the momentum of Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign, which has been drawing packed crowds across the country.  Oh, NOW crowd sizes matter. The networks filled their campaign roundups with other matters, such as speculation over who the speakers might be at the upcoming Democratic National Convention. But there was zero time allotted to the rolling national disgrace that are the ongoing Walz developments.  As The New York Post reports, the battalion commander of the unit Walz retired from ahead of its deployment to Iraq publicly lambasted Walz. None of this was reported on any of the network newscasts, just as none of this was reported on by the Sunday political affairs shows. Only CNN’s Dana Bash dared take a swing at the issue with JD Vance, and got annihilated for her efforts. In sum, not only will the Regime Media NOT challenge Harris on her lack of press availability and de facto “glass basement” campaign (constantly visible, constantly enclosed) but, adding insult to injury, the media won’t question the disastrous fallout of Harris’s first and most important campaign decision. Trump now falsely suggesting this image of the crowd in Detroit was produced by artificial intelligence. Posting on social media, “Has anyone noticed that Kamala cheated at the airport? There was nobody at the plane, and she AI’ed it, and showed a massive crowd of so-called followers, but they didn't exist.” It's just not true. Video and images from these events clearly show the crowds the Harris campaign is reporting. Harris' running mate, Governor Tim Walz, making this crack in Phoenix -- TIM WALZ: It's not as if anybody cares about crowd sizes or anything. Wow. WANG: And while Harris' campaign says they've been in the battlegrounds, Donald Trump tonight plans to be interviewed by Elon Musk on X, formerly known as Twitter. Trump going after Harris for vowing to eliminate taxes on tips for service and hospitality workers, an idea he first proposed.  TRUMP: Because when I get to office, we are going to not charge taxes on tips- people making tips.  WANG: The former president accusing Harris of copying his idea, saying: “This is a Trump idea. She has no ideas, she can only steal from me.” But Vice President Harris taking it a step further, saying not only should taxes on tips be eliminated, but the minimum wage should be raised too. HARRIS: When I am president, we will continue our fight for working families of America. Including to raise the minimum wage and eliminate taxes on tips for service and hospitality workers. MUIR: Going to be a key economic issue moving forward. Let's bring in Selina Wang at The White House tonight. Selina, we're just one week away from the Democratic National Convention. Of course, it kicks off next Monday in Chicago. What do we know about who will speak at the convention? WANG: Well, David, the Harris campaign is hoping to ride this momentum all the way to the convention. Sources say that former Presidents Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton are expected to speak there, as well as President Biden. And today, The White House saying that President Biden is looking forward to the convention and talking directly to the American people about the stakes of this election. David. The Washington Post reporting the FBI is now looking into suspected hacking attempts by Iran against both a Trump associate and the Biden/Harris campaign. The paper reporting that the Bureau began investigating earlier this summer, believing that Iran was sending phishing emails to Biden campaign officials. And this news drops as Donald Trump returns to X, the site formerly known as Twitter tonight. CBS's Robert Costa has more. ROBERT COSTA: Former president Donald Trump teased his dramatic return to X, the social media site that was crucial to his winning bid for The White House in 2016. DONALD TRUMP: We will take back our country and we will make America great again. COSTA: Trump allies tell CBS News that he is now seeking to counter the momentum of Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign, which has been drawing packed crowds across the country. Trump has been falsely accusing Harris of cheating, by claiming large crowds that he says didn’t exist.
