Robert Plant’s opinion on Prince

Robert Plant is certainly one of the most influential frontmans in the history of music and was a crucial part of Led Zeppelin's sound, which helped the band to become one of the best-selling of all time. After the group came to an end in 1980 after the tragic death of their drummer John Bonham, the singer started his solo career where he showed how versatile he was. He always had a broad musical taste and is always paying attention to what is happening in music. So he had the chance to see many incredible artists up-close over the decades and one of them was the late legendary singer and multi-instrumentalist Prince. Plant gave his opinion on the artist many times and he likes him. What is Robert Plant's opinion on Prince By the time Prince started his career, back in 1975, Led Zeppelin was already one of the biggest bands in the world and had released their most famous albums. The American artist would only have the chance to release his debut record "For You" three years later, in 1978. Although his first five records are loved by fans and critics, he would really become this huge pop star with the release of his groundbreaking album and movie "Purple Rain" in 1984. That record simply sold an estimated amount of more than 25 million copies worldwide. After that, the American musician had caught the world's attention and his peers were also always looking forward to hearing his new compositions. One of them was obviously, Robert Plant, who praised him many times. In an interview with Rolling Stone magazine in 1988 he even suggested that it would be great to see Prince and Jimmy Page playing together. He said that he liked the musician for his “sheer entertainment and audacity” and that “Prince and (Jimmy) Page together would be great.” In 1990, he again praised the artist in a TV interview (Transcribed by Rock and Roll Garage). The Led Zeppelin frontman revealed that he would like to work with Prince someday. But also noted he would probably be intimidated by how good he was. “I’m not really intimidated by too many people. But I’m very impressed by people. Prince is probably the most impressive single person. Because he is incredibly inventive but he is using a lot of old... He’s coming from all sorts of areas from the past.” Robert Plant continued: “He is really, he is pushing them all through a blender. So they come out oozing and tripping with honey, sex. It’s not at all sexist, but sexual. I don’t know whether I’d like to work with him. Because he is so powerful that he’d probably intimidate me a bit. I don’t know,” Robert Plant said. Prince covered Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love" live more than 50 times https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sMVFYGYr76A Although he had a huge catalog of songs to play, sometimes Prince would include a cover on his setlist. More than 50 times at least, according to Setlist FM, he included a cover of Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love" on his shows. But obviously, Prince never made a simple cover of a song. As can be seen, he would simply transform the track into something of his own. Besides being a prolific songwriter and singer, Prince was also known for being an incredible guitarist. He was praised by multiple guitar heroes over the years like David Gilmour, Joe Perry and Jeff Beck. During his career Prince recorded 42 studio albums and sold an estimated amount of more than 100 million records worldwide. He died at the age of 57 back in 2016.The post Robert Plant’s opinion on Prince appeared first on Rock And Roll Garage.

Giving Ukraine Missiles to Shoot Into Russia Is a Declaration of War

by Mike Whitney, Global Research: In a desperate attempt to stave off a humiliating defeat in Ukraine, “Secretary of State Antony Blinken has reportedly asked President Biden to greenlight Ukrainian missile strikes on targets deep inside Russia.” The change in policy will have no material impact on the ongoing ground war in Ukraine, although it could […]

Watch: NBA Head Coach Leaves Race-Baiting Reporter Speechless After Dropping 10-Word Bomb

There wasn't much drama in Game 1 of the 2024 NBA Finals, as the Boston Celtics drubbed the Dallas Mavericks 107-89 on Thursday. (Somehow that lopsided score belies just how dominant the Celtics were.) But that didn't stop one reporter from trying to stir up some drama on Saturday, during...

EGYPTIAN EX-MUSLIM sentenced to 9 years for merely criticizing Islam

And here we all thought that Egypt had long ago banned radical Muslim Brotherhood type brutal sharia blasphemy punishments. Stupid us. The sentencing of Egyptian ex-Muslim and atheist Sherif Gaber to an additional five years in prison, bringing his total sentence to nine years for merely criticizing Islam, has sparked international outrage and condemnation. Gaber’s […]
