Kamala Has a New Accent & Seems Open to an Israel Arms Embargo

Kamala wants to prove that she’s black, so she now has a black southern accent. The joke is that she portrays herself as a new, positive change for America, and she’s just another subservient figurehead. The same people who told Biden what to do will tell her what to do. She still isn’t granting interviews […] The post Kamala Has a New Accent & Seems Open to an Israel Arms Embargo appeared first on www.independentsentinel.com.

WATCH: Veteran Confronted Walz’s Staff About Military Service In 2009

Concerns about the way Minnesota Democratic Gov. Tim Walz – Vice President Kamala Harris’ running mate – described his military service are not new to the 2024 election. Back in 2009, Iraq War veteran David Thul went to then-Congressman Walz’s office in Mankato, Minnesota, and presented evidence he said showed Walz misrepresenting his military service. The encounter was captured in a video that has recently resurfaced. NEW: Unearthed video from 2009 shows two of Tim Walz’s congressional constituents showing up to his office confronting his staff with Walz’s questionable claim of being an Afghanistan War vet. pic.twitter.com/nKPx44YiV7 — Cryptid Politics (pro-DeSantis) ??? (@CryptidPolitics) August 8, 2024 Thul presented a Walz staffer with a 2004 photo of Walz holding a sign saying “Enduring Freedom Veterans for Care” and said that the image depicts Walz as an “Afghanistan War veteran.” “Congressman Walz is not an Afghanistan War veteran, is he?” Thul asks the staffer. “He served in Italy as a part of Operation Enduring Freedom,” the staffer responds. “But he didn’t serve in Afghanistan, did he?” Thul then asks. “Not that I’m aware of,” the staffer says. The video then shows Thul meeting with another staffer and showing him the same picture. The staffer said he always “understood” that Walz’s involvement in Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) was that he was deployed “in support of it.” Thul then asked the staffer if he believed most people would associate Operation Enduring Freedom with Afghanistan, to which the staffer suggested it was a broader operation. Thul then tells the staffer that OEF is “limited to Afghanistan and the air space directly above it.” He acknowledged that other units were called up “in support of” OEF but stated that his “concern” with the picture he presented and Walz’s official website is that “without any other details, don’t you think it’s reasonable people might assume that he served in Afghanistan?” WATCH THE TRAILER FOR ‘AM I RACIST?’ — A MATT WALSH COMEDY ON DEI The staffer takes a moment before responding: “Perhaps, I guess?” Thul then points out that it has been nearly five years, and Walz’s official biography has potentially caused confusion about whether or not he actually served in Afghanistan. When the staffer asked how Thul would change the wording to make it clearer, the Iraq War veteran said adding the words “in Italy” would suffice. “We both appreciate his being deployed,” Thul said, “but there’s a huge difference between being deployed to a base in Italy and being in a combat zone in Afghanistan.” Thul also notes that there were media articles in 2006 that referred to Walz as a “war veteran” and tells the staffer that the photo of Walz depicting him as an Afghanistan War veteran could violate Stolen Valor laws and result in incarceration. Walz has never been charged with Stolen Valor crimes, nor has he been officially investigated for such offenses. Walz also does not appear to have claimed to have received any awards or medals for being a war veteran.

Chicago Permits Anti-Israel March During DNC, Rejects Pro-Israel Rally

The city of Chicago, former President Barack Obama’s adopted hometown, has given permission for anti-Israel protesters to demonstrate near the Democratic National Convention but has stonewalled a pro-Israel group that requested to hold a solidarity march near the venue. “The Israeli American Council, a nonprofit organization representing Israeli-Americans that seeks to strengthen ties between the U.S. and Israel, filed two applications with Chicago’s Department of Transportation at the beginning of July, according to Aya Schechter, the group’s chief programming officer,” Jewish Insider reported. “But with just under two weeks remaining until the convention, the IAC has yet to receive an answer from the city, despite following up via phone and email.” Yet last month, Chicago Democratic Mayor Brandon Johnson’s administration offered a coalition of anti-Israel demonstrators a route near the United Center, where the convention will be held, for their “March on the DNC.” “It’s a win. But it’s not the win,” coalition spokesperson Hatem Abudayyeh told the Chicago Tribune in July. “Organizing works. You put a little pressure on the powers that be and you can move them.” In June, the Israeli American Council submitted an application for a demonstration within “sight and sound” of the United Center. That application was rejected; the city wrote back that the rally “would be a direct interference with a previously planned permitted activity or public assembly and would create public safety issues.” WATCH THE TRAILER FOR ‘AM I RACIST?’ — A MATT WALSH COMEDY ON DEI The city said it would permit a stationary rally during the convention’s last night, but it would have to take place at a park far from the venue. “It seems like we don’t have equitable access to whatever the other group was approved for,” Schechter told Jewish Insider. “We didn’t get any offer to do a march, not even in an alternative location.” Meanwhile, the anti-Israel groups were still not satisfied with what they received; they asked U.S. District Judge Andrea Wood to let them march even closer to the convention. Abudayyeh has reportedly openly supported the terrorist group Hamas for years. According to Canary Mission, he stated in a July 22, 2006 interview, “The U.S. and Israel will continue to describe Hamas, Hezbollah and the other Palestinian and Lebanese resistance organizations as ‘terrorists,’ but the real terrorists are the governments and military forces of the U.S. and Israel … the Lebanese and Palestinian resistance must be supported.” Canary Mission also noted that in a March 20, 2017 interview, “Abudayyeh praised Hamas for taking ‘the most leading role in the military resistance against Israel’ and called Palestinian terror groups ‘resistance forces.’”

Ireland Unveils Commemorative Statue To The Choctaw Nation’s Generosity

Many may not be aware of a connection between Ireland and the Choctaw Nation. Ireland recently unveiled a statue in the country’s Famine Museum to commemorate the kinship. The statue, “The Gift,” bears the inscription, “Commemorating the generous aid provided by the Choctaw Nation during the Great Famine in 1847.” View this post on Instagram A post shared by Irish Heritage Trust (@irishheritagetrust) History and karma are intertwined for the Choctaw Nation and Ireland in a tale of mutual care. The story began in 1847 in Oklahoma. The Choctaw Nation had just completed their journey over the Trail of Tears. The ravaging effects of the relocation did not dampen the spirits of the Choctaw. At the same time, Ireland was mired in the An Gorta Mor, known as the Potato Famine. Feeling a kindred spirit with their Irish brethren, the Choctaws organized a donation. They raised $170, equivalent to around $5,000 in today’s money. The money was sent to the town of Midleton, located in the County of Cork near Dublin. The people of Midleton never forgot the kind and generous donation. This sculpture in Ireland thanking the Choctaw tribe for donating money during the Potato Famine byu/SantaCruzDoper inpics In 1995, then-Irish President Mary Robinson worked to rekindle that friendship. It took until 2017, but a commemorative statue is now in Midleton to celebrate the gift from so long ago. The statue is in a park in Midleton and bears the appropriate name of “Kindred Spirits.” In 2018, a visit from Ireland’s prime minister, Leo Varadkar, saw the implementation of a yearly university scholarship. The scholarships allow Choctaw students to study in Ireland. But that wasn’t the end of Ireland’s generosity in repaying the kindness of the Choctaw Nation. Ireland Remembers The Generosity Of The Choctaw Nation In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, rising death tolls in the Navaho Nation and the Hopi Reservation were creating a hardship for the tribes. Remembering their gift from the Choctaw Nation, Ireland sent a donation of more than $2 million to the Hopi and Navaho as a way of “paying it forward.” Ireland continues to remember that gift of kinship with the recent statue unveiling at the Famine Museum. This tale of caring that began so long ago continues to flourish. If you get to Ireland, visit the Famine Museum to acknowledge this continuing trend of giving. The Choctaw Nation had little left after their journey along the Trail of Tears. Yet, they found enough to save a community halfway around the world. Although the monetary amount may seem small by today’s standards, the selfless gesture was priceless. Please share if you enjoyed learning about the ties between Ireland and the Choctaw Nation. We could learn a lot from this continuing kinship between nations. You can find the source of this story’s featured image here and here. Olympic USA Artistic Swimmers Channel Michael Jackson For Epic Underwater Moonwalk

With 40 different sports taking place at the Paris Olympics, it can be difficult to keep up with every exciting event. Some are widely talked about, like gymnastics and swimming. But did you know there’s an aquatic sport with a musical twist? It’s called Artistic Swimming, and it’s a stunning combination of swimming, music, and dancing. This sport was first introduced to the Olympics in 1984. But the United States team hasn’t won a medal since 2004… until now! What seals the deal for this win, it seems, is the moment when the U.S. Olympic swimmers pull off a moonwalk so epic, you truly have to see it to believe it. Rather than delivering this move with their feet underwater, they do so with their feet in the air! Naturally, the music accompanying them is Michael Jackson’s Smooth Criminal. Catch a glimpse of this breathtaking routine in the video below! Although the U.S. didn’t take home the gold, they did take home silver! This is something each swimmer is oh-so proud of — as they should be! “It feels incredible,” U.S. swimmer Daniela Ramirez says. “I mean, this is everything to us. I’ve never been with a team that feels as magical as this and I just feel so grateful to be here with them and represent the country well. It feels amazing, to be honest.” View this post on Instagram A post shared by DANIELLA RAMIREZ (@daniellaaramirezzz) U.S. Olympic Swimmers Dazzle Everyone With Their Underwater Moonwalk You can find another clip of their epic moonwalk on the official Olympic Twitter account. Though, it seems the music had to be replace for copyright reasons. So, instead, we have this hilarious version to enjoy! How legendary is this moment from USA Artistic Swimming?! #ParisOlympics pic.twitter.com/ldRk2D1D4K— NBC Olympics & Paralympics (@NBCOlympics) August 8, 2024 Needless to say, the U.S. Artistic Swimming team just earned themselves a ton of new fans with this routine! “I’m not sure how the other teams performed because I didn’t catch the broadcast, but based on what I see, Team USA gets the gold,” someone shares online, with another adding, “The swimmers are very special and athletic. Just terrific.” You can find the source of this story’s featured image here! The post Olympic USA Artistic Swimmers Channel Michael Jackson For Epic Underwater Moonwalk appeared first on InspireMore.
