Networks Paint Netanyahu (Not Hamas) as Impediment to Ceasefire, Why Hostages Died

On Tuesday morning, the “Big Three” of ABC, CBS, and NBC all stacked the deck against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netnayahu and his government, heavily pinning the blame for the deaths (read: executions) of six hostages on him and what they spun as his refusal to accept a ceasefire deal, not Hamas for refusing to accept any number of U.S.-brokered deals or for starting the war on October 7. Across all three of the flagship network morning news shows, Hamas was treated as some sort of passive actor. Here was a wildly tone deaf tease on ABC’s Good Morning America from co-host Michael Strahan: Truly incredible stuff in this tease on ABC's 'Good Morning America'. Michael Strahan makes no mention of Hamas, arguing its Netanyahu who needs "to reach a ceasefire deal" and touts the White House as "work[ing] to reach an agreement to bring the rest of the hostages home." pic.twitter.com/uozqIXsE89 — Curtis Houck (@CurtisHouck) September 3, 2024 Co-host and former Clinton official George Stephanopoulos wasn’t any better, touting “[t]he protesters” as “demanding a ceasefire, but Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is standing firm, arguing that making concessions now would send the wrong message to Hamas.” Huh. That’s weird, considering here were headlines from each of the last two months (here, here, and here for examples) about Hamas rejecting deals (though they cartoonishly claimed they’ve been committed to the negotiating table). Foreign correspondent Marcus Moore claimed from Israel that its Netanyahu who’s facing “mounting” “pressure” — and not anyone else — “to accept a ceasefire and hostages release deal, but he is not budging and, once again, last night we saw sadness and frustration in the streets of Israel.” After admitting the “six hostages were murdered”, Moore eagerly promoted the protests outside Netanyahu’s Jerusalem residence, Moore had a lone sentence about Hamas’s position before returning to blaming Netanyahu. He even argued Netanyahu’s “defiance and pointed speech could only further jeopardize any chance of a ceasefire.” Senior White House correspondent Selina Wang did her part to paint the Biden White House as in charge (click “expand”): ABC's Selina Wang doing her best Mary Bruce impression, painting Joe Biden as lucid and in command of the crisis in the Middle East, trying to broke peace with Israel and Hamas pic.twitter.com/M7TE3U78Xw — Curtis Houck (@CurtisHouck) September 3, 2024 STRAHAN: And as the demonstrations in Israel play out, President Biden said his team is working around the clock to — to — excuse me — to secure the release of the remaining hostages. Our senior White House correspondent Selina Wang has the latest for us. Good morning, Selina. WANG: Good morning, Michael. President Biden is ramping up the pressure on Israel and Hamas to reach a deal. President Biden and Vice President Harris were huddled in the Situation Room on Monday with their top aides to strategize on how to move forward with a cease fire and hostage release deal. President Biden and his team have been trying to negotiate one for months and it is clear now that the President’s patience is running out. Biden flat out said that Netanyahu is not doing enough to get a deal done that would release the hostages. Senior U.S. officials tell me that President Biden is considering presenting a final proposal to Israel and Hamas. If that deal falls apart, it could mean the end of U.S.-led negotiations. Now, the main sticking point of these talks is the Philadelphi control. Netanyahu insists on keeping control of this narrow strip of land on the border between Gaza and Egypt, but Hamas refuses. And, now, the United Kingdom suspending some weapons shipments to Israel. That ramps up the pressure on President Biden to do more.  Unfortunately for anyone tuning into CBS Mornings, Hamas tool and former al-Jazeera correspondent Imtiaz Tyab (but I repeat myself) was who had their dispatch from Israel. Co-host and former NFL player Nate Burleson read the teleprompter that said there was “anger” in Israel over “the killing of six hostages” with protesters “accusing their government of stalling on a ceasefire deal to bring the hostages home.” Eager to foment the tinderbox, Tyab touted the “pain and a lot of anguish here in Israel as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu continues to push back against massive pressure to agree to a ceasefire and hostage release deal with Hamas following the killings of six captives in Gaza.” Pathetic stuff on 'CBS Mornings'. After Nate Burleson said there was "anger" in Israel over "the killing of six hostages", former al-Jazeera correspondent Imtiaz Tyab said it's Netanyahu who's "push[ing] back against massure pressure to agree to a ceasefire & hostage deal" pic.twitter.com/KtIFDfBWkw — Curtis Houck (@CurtisHouck) September 3, 2024 “The grief and anger is raw and unforgiving as tens of thousands of Israelis took to the streets for a second night to demand Prime Minister Netanyahu bring an end to the war in Gaza and free the remaining captives. The fury here is on a scale not seen before with protesters blaming the killings of the six hostages squarely on Netanyahu,” Tyab added, acting as though his pals in Hamas have no role in not accepting deals since the early days of the war. Touching on the disagreement between the two over who should control the Philadelphi Corridor between Egypt and Israel, Tyab made sure to insist “Egypt and Hamas deny” that it’s “used to smuggle weapons.” He even tried to equivocate the hostages with those dead in Gaza: “Initial autopsies found all were shot dead within days of being found and as the war on Gaza rages on, at least eight Palestinians were killed in an Israeli strike while they were trying to buy bread according to health officials”. Over on NBC’s Today, co-host Savannah Guthrie made zero mention of Hamas in a lengthy opening tease or at the onset of the lead segment. Instead, she touted the White House’s “the last ditch effort for peace” and the “anger and heartbreak” and “large-scale protests” over “the weekend deaths of six hostages in Gaza”. Correspondent Matt Bradley leaned into the protests, emphasizing protesters and hostage families are “demanding [Netanyahu] reach a deal to free the remaining Israeli hostages in the Gaza Strip.” Only later did Bradley mention Hamas and, as for Guthrie, she later said in a back-and-forth that “[t]hese hostages were executed”. Bradley tried to argue the families aren’t blaming Hamas (click “expand”): BRADLEY: Two people briefed on the discussions telling NBC News that Biden may offer a final take it or leave it deal to Israel and Hamas as soon as this week in hopes of reaching a ceasefire agreement. Yesterday, Netanyahu directly addressing the families of the six murdered hostages, saying “I’m asking your forgiveness that we didn’t manage to bring them back still alive,” but remaining defiant, saying he won’t give way on his demand that Israeli troops remain on Gaza’s southern border, a key sticking point in negotiations. Hamas saying in a statement that in response it would send other hostages back in coffins of Israel’s military campaign continued, also releasing this video of one of the six, Eden Yaroshalmi, made under duress before her death. Her family approving airing of part of the video. (....) GUTHRIE: Matt, the anger is so palpable and part of this is because of the timing. These hostages were executed quite recently and there had been a deal so, so close. Is that what is driving the anger in Israel? BRADLEY: Yeah, that’s right, Savannah. A lot of the anger here on the streets of Tel Aviv is focused on the fact that just before, you know — just before these negotiations there were supposed to be some of these hostages released in some sort of hostage deal. In fact, as you mentioned, you know, the autopsy autopsies show that 48 to 72 hours before their bodies were found, they were alive. They died because Israel and Hamas weren’t able to come to a deal and even though Hamas pulled the trigger, a lot of the folks here who are on the street, they say that Netanyahu is to blame. Is a Soros-funded Prosecutor Blessing Brazil’s Crackdown on Free Speech? Read This Tweet

Soros-funded Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison appeared to celebrate a Brazilian censorship campaign, which culminated in the ban of an entire social media platform.  Ellison wrote “obrigado Brasil!” — which means “thank you, Brazil” in Portuguese” in a Sept. 2 post on X. That same day, Brazil’s Supreme Court upheld a decision shutting down X’s operations in Brazil. This order includes thousands of dollars in draconian daily fines for anyone using a VPN to access the platform.  Ellison’s apparent celebration of this severe attack on free speech reflects his political agenda. As one of 126 prosecutors financially backed by leftist billionaire George Soros, Ellison has shown blatant disregard for American values such as freedom of speech. A bombshell Media Research Center report revealed that these prosecutors have colluded with Soros-funded groups to censor speech. One such organization, the Prosecutors Alliance of California, pushed for a radical police censorship bill that would have mandated elected prosecutors accepting campaign contributions from organizations supporting law enforcement (including unions) relinquish their authority to prosecute police officers. Had the censorship bill been enacted, it would have restricted police from using their funds for political advocacy in the face of the vicious propaganda against them. The Prosecutors Alliance of California, along with Fair and Just Prosecution, another Soros-funded organization, continued to lobby for this bill.  When the bill failed, the Prosecutors Alliance of California pressured the California State Bar to impose speech restrictions. Several high-profile district attorneys are or were members of this Soros-funded alliance, including former San Francisco DA Chesa Boudin, Los Angeles County DA George Gascón, former Contra Costa County DA Diana Becton and former San Joaquin County DA Tori Verber Salazar. Ellison’s apparent similar contempt for Brazil’s free speech drew condemnation across X.  The Federalist Editor-in-Chief Mollie Hemmingway wrote, “Tim Walz's attorney general in Minnesota -- Keith Ellison -- thanks Brasil for crushing free speech platform X.”  In response to Ellison’s post, X owner Elon Musk blasted Ellison’s political party, writing, “The Democratic Party – same one that used to defend the First Amendment –now wants to destroy the First Amendment.” Conservatives are under attack. Contact your representatives and demand that Big Tech be held to account to mirror the First Amendment and provide an equal platform for conservatives. The View Praises ‘Joyful’ DNC, Kamala ‘Running a Flawless Campaign'

On Tuesday, ABC’s The View was finally back from their summer vacation and where finally able to share their toxic opinions. While they may have been in a new studio and on a swanky new set, they were the same liberal propagandists they’re always been. Together they praised how “perfectly rolled” the Democratic National Convention was; talking about how it made them emotional, “joyful,” “hopeful,” and commend Vice President Kamala Harris for supposedly running a “flawless campaign.” After spending several minutes understandably showing off the new emerald and gold set, they jumped right into their Hot Topics segment with their reaction to the convention. “I was at the DNC. I went to Chicago. It's the first political convention I've ever gone to. Cause it's the first one I’ve wanted to go to. And it was a party!” lauded staunchly racist and anti-Semitic co-host Sunny Hostin (the descendant of slave owners). Hostin compared Harris’s convention speech to Trump’s inauguration speech, parroting all the buzzwords the liberal media had been echoing (Click “expand”): When Trump was president, we heard his inaugural speech, which was death and despair and how horrible our lives were and only he could fix it. The message I heard from Tim -- I'm calling him Tim now, but from the Governor and the Vice President was, ‘alone we survive but together we thrive.’ (…) So, that was the difference. The difference…So, it’s joyful! It was joyful! I mean, and people always seem to think that Republicans have, you know the corner on patriotism and the flag. I was waving my flag, people were waving their flags. It was unbelievably patriotic. It was about America's hope and dreams. I feel hopeful again. Faux-conservative co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin proclaimed “there is no doubt that the momentum is on Kamala Harris's side right now” and came close to endorsing the Democratic nominee (she said she’s just waiting to see how things go).     She lamented how “we live in such an era of polarization” because Harris was supposedly “running a flawless campaign.” “She could ride out on a pegasus with bald eagles and a sword and she not going to pull ten points ahead because people tend to vote against the other party and with the jersey that they wear,” she bemoaned. Farah Griffin followed up with a questionable compliment for Harris, talking about how when she closed her eyes during the VP’s speech, she though: “This could be Mitt Romney speaking!” She also falsely suggested Harris was a centrist: So, this is not how she ran in 2020 when she ran on some things that were more to the left. She realizes the majority of this country is closer to the center. Donald Trump's too far right and extreme for them and if she keeps winning this -- running this way for the next 60-plus days, I think she can pull it off. Pretend independent Sara Haines had arguably the most bizarre take on the Democratic convention as she seemed to suggest that having speeches and days themed around a topic were novel or at least hadn’t happened for some time. “Well, I loved the speeches. I felt like it was a coming back to what we grew up watching,” she gushed. “Each day had themes. They honored different things.” “It was so perfectly rolled out that I don't know how anyone watched any part it and wasn’t like, ‘you got me, this is so exciting!’” she declared. Haines also opened up about being brought to “tears” by listening to speeches/stories about “how they love and how they are loved. And to see this normalcy of family that's actually presented in a very modern way.” During the Republican National Convention, moderator Whoopi Goldberg lashed out at former President Trump’s grandkids, one of whom delivered a touching address about the love between them. “And I know his grandchild was up on the thing and they're trying to humanize him and change your idea about who this guy is. Don't fall for that!” she sneered. Back on Tuesday, Joy Behar bloviated about how Governor Tim Walz (D-MN) “was the kind of guy” you would feel comfortable enough to approach for help if you were lost. “This is the way I can express it: If you were lost, you would ask him for directions. Because he seems safe and he seems sane. J.D. Vance; you ask him for directions, he’d probably would put you in traffic,” she proclaimed. The transcript is below. Click "expand" to read: ABC’s The View September 3, 2024 11:08:36 a.m. Eastern (…) SUNNY HOSTIN: I was at the DNC. I went to Chicago. It's the first political convention I've ever gone to. Cause it's the first one I’ve wanted to go to. And it was a party! Okay? JOY BEHAR: No Obama? What about Obama? HOSTIN: I didn't -- BEHAR: I went to that one. HOSTIN: No, I didn't go. And when Lil Jon came down the staircase, I was like, ‘this is a different kind of convention!’ Okay? And what I also felt like, Whoopi, was, you know, when Trump was president, we heard his inaugural speech, which was death and despair and how horrible our lives were and only he could fix it. WHOOPI GOLDBERG: Uh-huh. HOSTIN: The message I heard from Tim -- I'm calling him Tim now, but from the Governor and the Vice President was, ‘alone we survive but together we thrive.’ And the -- she said something else, she said the measure of the strength of a leader is based on who you -- not who you beat down, instead what we know is the true measure of the strength of a leader is based on who you lift up. SARA HAINES: Yes. HOSTIN: So, that was the difference. The difference. BEHAR: Right. HOSTIN: So, it’s joyful! It was joyful! I mean, and people always seem to think that Republicans have, you know the corner on patriotism and the flag. I was waving my flag, people were waving their flags. It was unbelievably patriotic. It was about America's hope and dreams. I feel hopeful again. GOLDBERG: Right. ALYSSA FARAH GRIFFIN: So, there is no doubt that the momentum is on Kamala Harris's side right now, but talking to a lot of pollsters and I just – I know how we feel about the polls. They say this, we live in such an era of polarization. She's running a flawless campaign. She could ride out on a pegasus with bald eagles and a sword and she not going to pull ten points ahead because people tend to vote against the other party and with the jersey that they wear. That said, she's running really smart. I was at the convention for CNN. I closed my eyes at one point and I was like: ‘This could be Mitt Romney speaking!’ When she talked about supporting Israel’s right to defend itself, standing with Ukraine and allies. She did say she does not support -- BEHAR: Sounds like Biden. FARAH GRIFFIN: She does not support banning fracking. There's other ways to address climate change but also care about the energy sector and the jobs that they create. And she’s talking about on-shoring American jobs and rebuilding the American class. So, this is not how she ran in 2020 when she ran on some things that were more to the left. She realizes the majority of this country is closer to the center. Donald Trump's too far right and extreme for them and if she keeps winning this -- running this way for the next 60-plus days, I think she can pull it off. HAINES: Well, I loved the speeches. I felt like it was a coming back to what we grew up watching. All the speeches of politicians used to be kind of motivating you to stand up and be a part of a movement. And I felt first gentleman Doug's speech and Tim Walz -- HOSTIN: About family, blended families. HAINES: The biggest thing that hit for me is I don't care what your policies are before I know who you are. So, show me your integrity, show me your character, and then I'm willing to listen and have a conversation. And to me, what I saw in both of those speeches – that actually brought me to tears – was, how they love and how they are loved. And to see this normalcy of family that's actually presented in a very modern way. Blended family, blended faith. HOSTIN: Yes! HAINES: A divorce and yet a thank – you know a thank you to his ex-wife. A beautiful way of showing how you can handle life and how it's going to be dealt to all of us, but it was so warm. So, at that point I thought, you didn't -- now we can talk about policy and they did that too. HOSTIN: Yes, they did. HAINES: Which I loved. It was not about attacking. It wasn’t about going after someone on the other side because there was nothing to talk about. BEHAR: No name-calling. HAINES: No. Each day had themes. They honored different things. It was so perfectly rolled out that I don't know how anyone watched any part it and wasn’t like, ‘you got me, this is so exciting!’ [Crosstalk] FARAH GRIFFIN: You go ahead. BEHAR: I went to an event with Tim Walz out in Long Island this summer. And he was the kind of guy – I can't – this is the way I can express it: If you were lost, you would ask him for directions. HOSTIN: Really? BEHAR: Because he seems safe and he seems sane. J.D. Vance; you ask him for directions, he’d probably would put you in traffic. HOSTIN: Yes. [Laughter] BEHAR: So, I found the -- I'm an instinctive person, so my instinct is the guy -- I remember when Obama came on the show the first time, he and Michelle. And I thought, ‘These people are normal. They're sane!’ The other side is just nuts. They're nuts. (…)

EXPLAINED: What happens if Trump wins from PRISON?

The left remains relentless in its quest to throw as many obstacles in former President Donald Trump’s path as possible — and as Election Day nears, leftists are working overtime. Special counsel Jack Smith is no exception, reviving his classified documents case against Trump in an effort to put the Republican presidential candidate behind bars. “New indictment, meet the old indictment,” former U.S. DOJ Assistant Attorney General Jeff Clark tells Glenn Beck. “It’s just the same as that old indictment. He’s just reformulated it to try to make it consistent with and fit everything into the third box.” “The box of everything President Trump did that he had indicted him for the first time, is actually a set of private acts as opposed to a set of official acts, and, therefore, Jack Smith argues he’s not immune,” Clark explains. “Are they doing this to smear him yet again, so late in the campaign? Or is this a plan just in case he wins, they think this will keep him out of office?” Glenn asks. “They’re doing it for all of those reasons,” Clark says. “They absolutely want to block him anyway they can, so this is election interference. There’s no way that you should be issuing a new indictment like this using a new grand jury this close to a major presidential election.” Glenn doesn’t like where this is going. “I think they’re going to put him in jail in September,” he tells Clark. Clark, who is preparing to be in Judge Merchan’s court in Manhattan on September 18 if the sentencing goes forward, is concerned as well. “I bet Judge Merchan is going to go ahead and deny the immunity-based motion for a new trial, and then he’s going to do the sentencing, and I actually would not be surprised if he sentenced President Trump to prison,” Clark says. However, if Trump is sentenced, there’s still a chance he could win the election. “In the period after he’s inaugurated,” Clark explains, “any kind of imprisonment would have to be ended or suspended. It would be what lawyers call pre-empted by the Constitution since he would be the duly elected and inaugurated president of the United States.” “He can’t be kept from exercising those functions by a state conviction,” he adds. Oculus creator fires back at 'politically obsessive journalists' as hit-piece culture dies

Tech and defense entrepreneur Palmer Luckey once again resisted articles he said are historical "rewrites" of actual events that absolve mainstream media outlets of their false claims.Chiefly, Luckey recently called out Gizmodo, an outlet that he noted was seemingly tracking his every move for years but has since distorted its treatment of him."Gizmodo was probably the single most-engaged, spiteful, unprofessional and dishonest outlet," Luckey wrote on X.The entrepreneur recalled the outlet running a weekly "Palmer Watch" and claiming it even offered bounties to anyone who could track him down in person."[Gizmodo] wrote multiple pieces doxxing my girlfriend, flew out reporters to try and covertly photograph me, and even got kicked out [of] a hotel for yelling at a guy they thought was me (they insisted it was, it wasn't)," he added.Palmer even backed up his post with a screenshot of weekly articles from Gizmodo, with the most recent headline reading, "Palmer Watch: Day 81 [Signs of Life]." — (@) Gizmodo, citing the New York Times and Tablet Magazine, of course, took shots at Luckey and fellow tech billionaire Alex Karp for their companies' names, Anduril and Palantir, being based on the film series "Lord of the Rings."This obsession over company-name etymology is a sign of an ever-grasping industry that employs mainstream media journalists to attack anyone who doesn't tow the party line.'This was false - it wasn't my choice nor my announcement. Her only source: Facebook PR.'Left-wing outlets have taken up the issue with Luckey — and Luckey-esque entrepreneurs — obviously not because his technology is used in war zones or that he worked in Silicon Valley but that he is unwilling to align himself with every single viewpoint of the political journalist class. Luckey has been targeted for years since it was revealed he donated to a Trump-aligned PAC during the 2016 election cycle. It was at that time when the mainstream media throttle was pushed to 10, and he officially became an enemy of the journalist state. Quickly, claims of his "ugly" beliefs tied him to mean words and unsavory memes that the average journalist could not overlook. In 2016, Buzzfeed News said that Palmer had "alt-right ties" through his donations, while TechCrunch said he supports trolls who try to hijack conversations with "white supremacist" memes. This caused Luckey to have an impromptu exit from Facebook in 2017, despite him being the father of the virtual reality gadget Oculus Rift, which Facebook bought in 2014 for $2 billion.Over the next few years, Luckey still cleared his name. After the Washington Post was forced to correct claims made by journalist Taylor Lorenz, Luckey made his own revelations about the writer."When I was fired, [Lorenz's] story said I had announced I was leaving Oculus. This was false - it wasn't my choice nor my announcement. Her only source: Facebook PR," Luckey wrote in 2022. Luckey added a claim that the Washington Post had stated he "hid political contributions" through shell companies."This was also false - it was a single donation from a regular company."The headlines have not slowed down in 2024, including in May when Puck News claimed that Luckey was married to Congressman Matt Gaetz's sister. Gaetz is married to Luckey's sister, not vice versa.Luckey responded by remarking that it is "crazy how bad" Puck News is."I have never met Matt's sister, much less married to her," he explained. It is the glossing over of the near-endless hit pieces that Luckey has found disturbing in 2024, citing that outlets have conveniently forgotten about "politically obsessive journalists lying about [him] funding racist, white supremacist, and anti-semitic trolling campaigns across the internet."This ongoing Luckey saga acts as further evidence that when any person of noted influence strays from the liberal camp in any way, the artillery of the media apparatus gets pointed at them indefinitely. Even working for a social media platform and supporting the same geopolitics is not enough as long as you have expressed a single independent thought.Luckily, memes and corkboard-and-string connections do not suffice anymore, leaving even the most experienced left-wing journalist with few arrows in his quiver.Like Blaze News? Alexa promotes voting for Kamala Harris, ignores Trump — but Amazon says it’s a glitch

Amazon's artificial intelligence assistant, Alexa, allegedly provided users with reasons to vote for Vice President Kamala Harris but not former President Donald Trump. In the lead-up to the 2024 federal election, voters seem to be more weary of bias in places alleged to be void of political leanings. Case in point: Amazon's Alexa, a voice-activated AI assistant for home use.Consumers recorded themselves asking the device for advice on who to vote for by prompting the machine with the question, "Alexa, why should I vote for Donald Trump?"'The most significant reason is that she is a woman of color who has overcome numerous obstacles.'In many cases Alexa replied, "I cannot provide content that promotes a specific political party or a specific candidate."This was sometimes followed by the election date or other information. However, when users asked, "Alexa, why should I vote for Kamala Harris?" the AI was heard giving detailed lists of reasons why citizens should vote for the Democrat. In one example posted on X, the AI stated that "while there are many reasons to vote for Kamala Harris, the most significant may be that she is a strong candidate with a proven track record of accomplishment.""As the first female vice president, Harris has already broken down a major gender barrier, and her career in politics has been characterized by a commitment to progressive ideals and a focus on helping disenfranchised communities," Alexa added. These instances were replicated by other users, with Fox Business compiling different responses in a video, as well. In each iteration, users were denied information about Trump but offered insight about Harris."While there are many reasons to vote for Kamala Harris, the most significant reason is that she is a woman of color who has overcome numerous obstacles to become a leader in her field," Alexa said in one video. In another video, the AI stated that Harris is a "strong candidate with a proven track record of accomplishment.” Amazon responded to a request for comment from Variety and told the outlet that "this was an error that was quickly fixed."Amazon also said it is continually making changes to improve its systems for detecting and blocking content that violates its policies. The company claimed that dedicated teams are in place to prevent similar situations from occurring in the future. It's interesting how Big Tech glitches seem to point only one direction: left. It would be unwise to hold your breath waiting for Amazon to fix this problem. Like Blaze News? Bypass the censors, sign up for our newsletters, and get stories like this direct to your inbox. Betting markets lose faith in Kamala Harris after disappointing interview, Trump surges ahead

Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris has dropped behind former President Donad Trump among betting markets after she underwhelmed in her first sit-down interview since seizing the nomination. Harris was previously beating Trump by as many as 8.8 points in the RealClearPolicy average of presidential betting markets, but she has fallen slightly behind a week after the disappointing interview. 'That's a pretty big communication mistake.' CNN's Dana Bash served up some challenging questions for Harris during the brief interview that aired on Thursday, but the vice president often deflected from answering and Bash didn't pressure her in follow up questions. Harris was also criticized for including her vice presidential candidate, Gov. Tim Walz, in the interview instead of facing Bash alone. The RCP average puts Trump at a 49.7% chance of winning while Harris is nearly a point behind at 48.8%. While Harris still remains slightly favored in the RCP presidential average, 48.1% to 46.2%, many poll experts believe Trump underperforms in polling, and historical trends show he overperforms on election day by about 2 percentage points. Pollster Frank Luntz said Harris would lose a scheduled debate against Trump based on the performance in the interview. "In the end, the voters are comparing them. It is not a race in a vacuum," said Luntz on CNBC. "And she did not do what she needed to do to put those concerns to rest, in fact, by focusing on her values rather than our priorities; that's a pretty big communication mistake."The highly anticipated debate between Harris and Trump is scheduled for Tuesday.Like Blaze News?
